The spear impaled the scout between her ribs and pierced her lung. She twitched and gasped for breath as Konstantin twisted the spear. The fire blazed, and was coming for them pretty fast. Konstantin had lost sight of both Danny and Simeon in the forest now. Black thick smoke was being blown his way but he twisted the spear again and the scout, who was struggling to move, fumbled with something in her hand.
Simeon meanwhile had to shield his eyes from the hot blaze and he coughed as he inhaled smoke. It was difficult to see where he was going, especially since this wasn't the only fire in the forest. It was quite disorienting, being surrounded by flames and smoke.

Konstantin didn't care much about the fires, he had grown used to it even before he had had his first Change. He grabbed the shaft of the spear with dedication and lifted his victim up from the ground so her escape would be even more difficult, and to prevent her using her legs as leverage to help her getting off from the spear.
"What are you doing here?" he asked calmly and prepared to carry her over the flames to get rid of her. Bastards of Wyrm deserved to burn.

With the flames growing larger and wider by the second, Konstantin had no trouble moving the girl over them and roasting her alive. At his question, Konstantin saw her mouth widen into a grin. Her mouth moved to say something but with her lung filling up with blood, all she managed to do was cough up some of it. She could hardly move, but she dropped whatever it was in her hand towards him. For all intents and purposes, it looked like an ordinary grenade.

"Stupid girl." Konstantin groaned and looked at the grenade. He was not very quick on his feet anyways and getting face full of shrapnels sounded like a bad idea, so it was time to improvise. He rammed the spear to the ground as close to the grenade as he just could, trying to pin the firebug on top of grenade. Her own body would dull the worst out of explosion, and he just would need to take what impact the explosion had left after tearing her apart. Then it was time to leave the spear and duck.

Something about the grenade made Konstantin really want to get away, and so he put most of his energy into ducking for cover. The body didn't land perfectly on the grenade, but it did manage to dampen the blow. Konstantin's armour absorbed a lot of the damage. But the damage that did go through stung more painfully than he would've thought a grenade should. It cut through his skin like butter and almost sent him over the edge. With his auspice moon out, it was easier than ever to just give in and let the rage take control. Meanwhile, the girl had not only turned into a very bloody and torn corpse. She was starting to roast slowly in the fires.
(4 levels of aggravated damage. And Konstantin earns a battle scar - we decide on that in a bit. And will frenzy unless he spends willpower. And he gets his rage back.)
Simeon can continue here since the two got separated.

"Uhrgg..." Konstantin moaned and suppressed the frenzy with sheer strength of will. He stood up carefully, stretching a bit to feel the extend of his injuries and went to pick up what was left of his spear. It's form should have helped it against the explosion, but anyways even on a good day the last third of the shaft should be devastated. He tried not to think too much about his own wounds, and to do that he needed to figure out something else to focus on and quick.
He looked around for Simeon and Danny, and wondered if the fires could still be put out. A bried check for the wind-direction and then it was time to move again, to make a line of as little vegetation as possible on the path of fire. Diesel burned fast anyways, and there was little he could do to put it out, but after it was burned this would be just a regular fire and could be dealt as such. Konstantin started to work to prevent the fires from spreading using his mask for digging the vegetation off and hammer for breaking trees that might catch the spreading fire, creating a zone with as little flammable material as possible on fires way.

The fire licking at Konstantin's heels did little to deter him. Whatever damage it did healed over almost instantly in his Glabro form. He was working on controlling the fires, but he was alert to his surroundings at the same time. He could tell someone was approaching. It wasn't the Striders because they would have the sense not to move so loudly and so obviously.

Konstantin kept working on the controlling the fires, but now he made sure he did not put his hammer down, and he tried to make sure whoever was approaching would not get a shot on his back. He tried to listen for the direction and occationally glanced at the general direction of sound, ready to ram the hammer into chest-cavity of anyone hostile.
Right now the fires needed to be put out for the sake of the caern, so working on it half-heartedly was better than just standing up and waiting for another fight to break out as the flames would spread even further.

He made some progress in containing the fire in the immediate area. Hopefully, the others were trying too or all his hard work was for nothing.
Nothing hostile presented itself, but suddenly Konstantin heard a loud fwoosh and the forest in front of him lit up with green flames. They didn't burn through the trees as much as blast through them, and Konstantin had to do some impressive weaving and dodging to stop the falling trees from landing on him. Although he wasn't caught in the blast itself, the heat from the flames forced him back and he had to cover his eyes. The parts of his skin that weren't protected were now covered with painful sickly boils. (Although I think that's not much since he covered his face.)
Then things went quiet. The fires continued to crackle, and the sounds of someone approaching could be heard once more.
(No damage, but you suffer -1 to perception rolls until I say so.)

"Fine, that's it. Now I am pissed off." Konstantin growled and straightened up. "WHO GOES THERE!?" he roared at anyone how was approaching and took steps to intercept the traveller. What the hell was going on here? Simeon and Danny had dissappeared in a very Silent Striderish way, and now he, Silver Fang, was left here to work as a public servant! And that blast? What the hell?
"Show yourself! Help me contain these fires or get the hell out of my way!"

"It's just me." He probably didn't expect his daughter to step through the smoke, coughing and hacking and shielding her eyes. But she did. Kids today...
"I was worried," she said. "The firefighters will be here any second..." She paused and looked at his shoulders and back. "Are you hurt? What happened?"

Now that he stopped focusing on putting out the fires, he could indeed hear sirens approaching. That and something else. Something loud and angry.

"What are you doing here? It's dangerous!" Konstantin said, clearly shocked to see her. There was unfortunately no time for happy family-reunion right now. "Get behind me. Run like hell to the Library if enemy attacks me.". With his left hand he pushed his daughter behind him, and prepared to knock the head off from anyones shoulder who was now threatening his daughters well-being.

Christiane stood behind him as he asked, and a few moments later the monster showed itself. It sprang out of the thicket, foaming at the mouth and spluttering with rage. It was as large as a Crinos werewolf, but it had no fur, just claws and teeth and festering boils all over its skin. Apart from being hideously disfigured, it seemed to be blind and was apparently following the sounds of Christiane's footsteps, and now their voices.
Despite the terrifying sight and his protective instincts taking most of his attention, Konstantin couldn't help notice something else. He wasn't in pain anymore.

No-one apparently cared about things like 'Veil' anymore... Konstantin was already worried for the green flash, and now if things like these were running around, and there was a High Ban issued that prevented garou from fighting efficiently against the enemy, it seemed like only Wyrm had benefitted from it.
The healing caught him off-guard, but he didn't overthink it. He was again fit to fight, and at least give her daughter a chance to escape, and it was all that mattered now.
Konstantin lifted his hammer and struck viciously downwards, and followed the strike by another blow, this time swinging the hammer from down to up.
"SIT!" he shouted and trampled the ground as he swung, trying to make enough noise to allow his daughter to escape.
((Strike. Rage: Strike))
