She obeys him...amazing how much like hypnotism this was. It had never worked on her, though, so she was confident enough to obey without wondering about reality. She wasn't sure if it was working, she couldnt feel much and certainly didn't feel much different...opening her eyes she looks up at Danny. Way, way, up.

Danny smiles and picks up his coat. It had dropped to the ground when she changed. He puts it on and shifts to his breed form. He speaks in a series of barks and growls, but oddly enough, she finds that she can understand him. "A true strider you are too, with the eyes of the jackals of our homeland, Egypt." he says. "That is where the first striders were from. Our ancestors warred with the ancient Vampires of Egypt, the children of Set, and lost. Set's children banished and cursed our forefathers to a lifetime of wandering. We never find rest, we never find a home, although we might long for one. They also scattered our ancestors. We can never call upon their powers like the other tribes do." He watches the weavery pattern spiders as he speaks, or growls rather.

Being quiet for almost too long, Kaleb grows bored rather quickly. He looks around and then looks back at Danny and the cub. He did not like the talk of the Wyrm, that was true, infact maybe it was a bit much to tell her right away. He didn't know of the wyrm the very first day, if he did...well what if he did know? He shrugs his shoulders, not like you could change anything about it. He kind of felt like the odd man out, where was his buddy the get at? He hadn't seen him in a while, maybe he should go to the park where they usually "bump" into eachother.

She listens to her rumbling growls as she chuckles. "I do?" She tilts her head to examine herself, resisting the temptation to start chasing her tail. It was exhilarating..almost enough to make her forget it meant she wasn't who she thought she was and her family weren't family at all. She becomes more serious for a second. "So we...sort of have to wander, then? We can't settle?" She watches him with a set of eyes, that although she didn't actively notice, saw him differently. Even without the fact he was now, duh, a wolf. "and we have an uprooted history..." she sits on her haunches. Following his eyes, she looked at the spiders for a moment before looking over at Kaleb watching them. He looked almost disapproving... she tried to stop asking questions, and also contain a mounting rush of excitement.

"You can settle in if you want, for a day or two... until the call of the Umbra, or the real world just makes you have to answer." he barks, watching her reaction to shifting normally for the first time."Makes you want to run doesn't it?" He nudges her, toppling her over and darts off, running a few laps around an annoyed Kaleb and looking as much as an overexcited dog as possible. "Come on, Kaleb. It's not so bad..." Whether he was talking about the Umbra or just about the overall situation, it was hard to tell. It was probably both.
He stops running after a while and becomes serious again. "So what first? Tribes, critters, enemies, different forms and shapes we can turn into?" he had forgotten that it was getting late.

Kaleb looks around and suddenly he catches a glimpse of something else in the umbra with them. It was the get, or so it looked like. He looks at Danny and nods his head to the get's direction. "That's the get." He runs off in the gets direction.

Lorelei jerks her sleek head in response to the question, and as he topples her she jumps up, and joins in the chase, after Dannys tail but making sure she would never catch it as she frisks around the other. The rush didn't fade and as she saw her superior, as she now considered him, playing it made her think maybe this wouldn't be as bad as she thought. As he stops she comes to a halt reluctantly. It was so much fun, being...playful, she supposed, but she needed to learn it. the hour similarly forgotten in her mind, she yelps out "Tribes, please..." At Kalebs words she turns inquiringly to Danny. "The...what, sorry?" She tensed. She definitely needed what she could use and what to avoid. She had the oddest feeling she wouldn't last long otherwise.

Kaleb looks at the two and then back at Warren. "Hey, look what came crawling in the Umbra?" He snickers, and motions to Warren. "He's the one I told ya about." Is all kaleb says.

“The tribes…” Danny says, starting off in that way that meant the listener was probably in for another speech. “There was time when the Garou Nation could boast 13 tribes of werewolves, each had its own heroes, and its own history. I have already told you of how the White-Howlers fell to the Wyrm. But they are not the only ones who left the Garou. The Stargazers too are a lost tribe. But rather than fall to the enemy, they decided to leave this war behind and go into hiding. If you meet just one stargazer in your lifetime, consider yourself lucky.
“But I’m telling the story backwards, I should start with the tribes that remain our allies.” He jerks his head in Kaleb’s direction.
“The Bone Gnawers have a bit of a raw deal. You’d find them mostly in cities like this one, living like rags and scavenging what they can off the lives of others. They’re a bit too grounded for our tastes, they don’t like open roads and spirit worlds. But nobody knows the streets and the slum critters like they do. And that in itself can be very useful.”
He watches Kaleb run off in the newcomer’s direction.
“The Get… well don’t call them Get in their faces, it’s a deadly insult.” If he’d been in homid he would have been smirking. “The Get of Fenris, or as they like to call themselves “Fenrir”, they’re the fierce warriors of the Nordic lands. They understand nothing but honour and death and war. They want to bring down the Wyrm’s minions, but many of them feed the Wyrm in the process. They are good battle companions though… I have had many friends among the Fenrir.
“They have an old enmity with the Black Furies. The Furies are warriors too. Their beliefs mostly arise out of old human bigotry and inequality, something wolves cannot really comprehend unless, like me, they have lived among humans long enough. They are a tribe composed mainly of women. They are a proud tribe… too proud. And although they have reason enough for pride, that is their biggest weakness.
“They’re not the only tribe that discriminates though. The Red Talons are the perfect example of what happens when one you lose the human side of you completely. The Red Talons are purely Lupus werewolves, that is werewolves that were born in wolf form. They believe that humans are at the core of all corruption… and once you look at this…” he glances once again at the weaver’s webs, “It’s hard to fault them. But by embracing the wolf they have lost a part of them. And that is something we can’t afford to do.
“The Glass Walkers have done the same, they have embraced technology and progress and forgotten what it means to be Garou. Of all tribes, they are the most tied to the Weaver. It is easy to see, then, that the Red Talons and the Glass Walkers aren’t too fond of each other.”
It was also easy to see that he was not too fond of the Glass Walkers himself.
“I was raised among Fianna kinfolk as a cub. They are a strange tribe, the Fianna, closely tied with the Fae of their homelands. Some of them have even claimed to be able to see the land of the dreaming… their world. They have the best of Galliards, and they tell the best tales. If you ever meet one, let him do the talking, he’ll appreciate it, and you won’t be disappointed.” It was probably a little hard to believe that Danny ever let anyone else do the talking.
“Of the Shadow Lords, even I can tell you very little. They are suspicious folk, and don’t talk much. They believe themselves to be born to royalty and nobility… that’s why they spend most of their days trying to bring down the Silver Fangs. The Silver Fangs also believe themselves to be born to lead. I say, if they want to be in charge, let them. It’s not like we have to need to follow anyone anyway.
“As for the Wendigo, and their brothers the Uktena. I can only tell you what I’ve heard from those who have met them, for they live across the waters in a land called America, and they dislike the other tribes fiercely. The Uktena are a tribe shrouded with secrets. They have uncovered more Wyrm lore than anyone, and therefore, they are mistrusted among he Garou. The Wendigo are their proud Northern brothers. They are the purest of tribes, and it is said they have lost the fewest to the Wyrm.
“That leaves us with only one… well, two tribes. The Children of Gaia, the name should give most of their philosophies away. They are preachers of peace in a time of war. The preach unity among the tribes. A worthy cause, but their preaching can get tiresome.
“I suppose that leaves only us. The Silent Striders… well, of the surviving tribes that is. The Bunyip were completely wiped out by their western brothers. Those that didn't die escaped into the spirit world of the dreamtime. I have met some of them. Be wary when you step out there, some of the were-wraiths still hold grudges against their western kin who wiped them out.”
He seems to be done talking, and decides to greet the newcomer. Still on all fours, he growls a greeting towards Warren.

Her head was whirling again and she wished she had been more herself so she could write notes on some of this to study more carefully later on. She was sure she would learn and so it would remain in her head, in time, but at the moment is was horribly confusing. There were some to avoid and some to embrace and some to run from...the most important part at this moment, was not to offend this newcomer...this Get, but actually called Fenrir. She jerks her head, and grumbles out a reply. "It is...complicated, then...lots of new politics to learn, it seems. does it get easier as you know more of them or harder?" she was well versed enough to know that some things just got more confusing. She turns her eyes on him as he howls his greeting shyly witholds her own. She did not yet know this worlds etiquette and as well spoken as she may be in the world she knew, she knew the rules there.

"Hardly. Then you have to keep remembering who to not offend. For example, never tell a Bone Gnawer you're one of Owl's favoured children, or they'll never let you into their homes." he says in a quiet voice. "Never call a Get a coward, or he'll be scrambling on hands on feet trying to prove he isn't... It's more than just stereotype, it's the way they're brought up and the way their blood guides them." A more educated person would have said it's genetics. But Danny was not the kind of person who knew about genetics.
He stops whispering, if you can call it whispering, and shifts to homid.

She listens and nods a little, a short movement of her head that she was doing more out of habit than anything. It must look very odd, she thought somewhere while she was musing over these wonders. She speaks quietly back, taking her tone from his. "So these clans have different abilities...do they look different too, are they easy to recognise?" She watches him and after a moment she mimics him...somehow it was easier to talk to a thing if you were the same species. she picks up the coat again, still not comfortable with walking around starkers.

"At a certain time they might have been easy to recognise. Most of them have left their lands and mated with the kinfolk of other tribes that it becomes difficult. You know, like humans and skin colour. They have different abilities in a way too. Different tribes specialise in different gifts. The Get and the Furies focus on warrior gifts, the Bone Gnawers on survival. We focus on messenger and traveller gifts, obviously. The Fianna teach gifts geared towards their fae kin. The Shadow Lords seek ways to intimidate and assert dominance, and the Silver Fangs leadership. Red Talons, naturally, teach violence and chaos while the Glass Walkers prefer order and reason, they most certainly include Weaver spirits in their gifts. That doesn't mean you can't learn another tribe's gifts though."
