No one alley in particular, these are Berlin's back alleys and side streets, as they appear from the other side of the Gauntlet...

As Vasara manages to Step Sideways, he shifts into crinos and looks around for trouble. Seeing Kaleb and Karin he smiles at them and says "We need to surround it when the Bane comes through so it can't escape."
He raises his head and looks at Luna in Umbral skies, whispering a short prayer for strength, then bows his head and takes a deep breath.
Then Vasara stands up straight, stretches his muscles and prepares to bounce on anyone who comes through the Gauntlet.
Even he wondered how calm he always became just before a fight...

Karin still seemed unhappy at being out here with them, and didn't take great pains to hide it. She shifted to Crinos and positioned herself a little further away from the others, ready to pounce at the bane should it appear.
What's taking him so long, she thought impatiently.

The impatient Ratkin doesn't have to wait too long. Soon enough, the bane materialises in the Umbra and tries to take flight. Finding itself surrounded, it rounds up on Kaleb and attacks.
I'm going to try out init order here, post in reverse init order, so lowest initiative goes first. Init: Karin: 16 Vasara: 12 Kaleb: 9

Oh, that thing was attacking at him...Why him first, surely that silly mouse girl could use a few whacks? And he remebered from that other bane thing not to bite it no more, it hurt.
(Rage to shift to Crinos, attempting to hit him anywhere on his torseo region.)

"HEY!! LEAVE MY BUDDY ALONE!!" his shout turned into growl as Vasara saw that bane attempted to attack Kaleb.
Vasara pounces on Bane with all his might leaving scratchmarks on umbral asphalt with claws of his hind legs. He was not going to let this bane slip from his grasp or to harm his friend if he could do something about it!
(already in crinos, charge the bane, activate Visage of Fenris to scare the bane and claw as primary action)

Karin grinned when the bane rounded on Kaleb, but checked herself at once. She took one giant leap at the bane, raking her claw across it as she passed and landing a few feet away, as not to get hurt.
(Leap o' the Kangaroo rat, claw rake, rage to dodge)

The bane practically stumbles, and misses its attack on Kaleb altogether. Karin's leaping rake hits its mark, but the ratkin just isn't strong enough to cause enough damage to slow it down. Kaleb fares better, his claw attack sends the bane stumbling a little, but it gathers itself up. It isn't until Vasara's attack that the bane takes any real damage, it snarls and rages, and turns on Karin instead.
No damage this round Init: Kaleb 17, Vasara 15, Karin 14

Karin chittered madly and lunged again. This time she attacked with both teeth and claws, trying to tear the bane to bits.
(Split action to claw twice, rage to bite)

"Hold on, girl! I won't let it harm you either!!" Vasara roars and presses his attack, trying to maneuver himself behind the fiend and TEAR IT APART!
(another claw-attack this round)

Oh, he was going after the nutty rat, but well they were suppose to be working together, even though Abby would think better of it. He continues to swipe at the thing with his claws and now for an added action spending rage to bite the darned thing.

Pulling himself thought the Gauntlet, the Bjornen Ilya lets out a growl at sight of the Bane.
With bared teeth and slashing claws, he charges the tainted spirit, attempting the rend it to shreds.
(Bite attack. Spending a Willpower on the roll, due to my shitty Dexterity of ONE in Bjornen.)

Then bane reaches forward and grabs Karin by the throat. She struggles and tries to bite and scratch at him, but he keeps a grip and she starts to choke. Kaleb claws at the bane, but only manages to scratch at its armour. Vasara's claw attack this time isn't as effective as before, although it hurt the bane, it isn't enough to shake his grip on the ratkin. It's not until Ilya charges and bites the bane to bits that he lets go of Karin, and collapses in a heap at their feet.
Combat resolved Karin takes 2 lethal. Everyone else, healthy.

"huff....huff... I'm wearing down here..." Vasara whispers and then straightens up. He didn't remember when he slept or eat well last time. No time to run and hide... must keep going until work is done...
"It is vanquished... It is good to see that the might of the Bear... and Rat... hasn't left the world... I'm.. I'm... I'm sorry for War of Rage, glad we didn't eradicate you completely..." Vasara looks at both Ilya and Karin with very uneasy look in his face... maybe Gaia had a change after all.
"Umm... I and Kaleb are on mission to find out what's going on at O'Tolleys... could you... could you help... us... maybe..?" he looks Ilya with pure admiration in his eye.
"...and you Karin, you have shown to me your will to protect Gaia... If any garou is to harm you... I'm the one who's going to stand in front of you to protect you from those who will harm you...and I'll make this vow to you too, Ilya" Vasara makes ceremonial salute to bete.
"We need to act... not stand here chatting... forgive my rambling... but we need to move. NOW!"

Spitting a messy gob af spirit-flesh from his mouth, Ilya looks over to Vasara, then the wounded Ratkin. Wiping his maw, he quickly shifts to his familiar Athren form and approaches her.
"I'm sorry," He says to the girl, "You are wounded. I... I should have done something about this sooner."
Gently laying his hands on Karin's wounded flesh, he takes a deep breath, closes his eyes, and begins channeling Mother Bear's healing magic as best he could.
When he is done, he looks up at Vasara, helping Karin to her feet as he does so.
"Were you alive during the War of Rage?" He asks, a warm smile on his face.
He pauses, but not quite long enough for Vasara to respond.
"Nor was I," He continues, "I harbour no ill-will towards your kind. What's done is done, and hopefully we have all learned from our ancestors' actions. We must now either move on and focus our efforts towards one sole purpose, or allow the Pattern-Breaker's seeds of doubt and mistrust tear us apart from within once again."
I'm rambling... He thinks to himself.
"I'm sorry," He says after a moment of silence, "I... I... this restaurant..."
He nods in the direction of O'Tolley's, deciding to change the subject.
"I do not think it would be wise for us to attempt any further action alone," He says, "No matter how highly we may think of ourselves, four of Gaia's children are no match for a nest of the Patern-Breaker's thralls. I shudder to think of what horrors that place holds on this side of the Gauntlet, if the Pattern-Breaker's minions roam the Earth in human hosts with such ease. Surely there are more Bête here in Berlin, more who would aid us? It is true that O'Tolley's must be cleansed, yet what would our deaths achieve? Forgive me if I am overstepping my mark, but wisdom dictates planning and preparation before action."
(Spending a Gnosis to activate Mother Bear's Touch on Karin. Oh, and sorry about the long post.)
