"No, but they're rare. Some people like collecting rare things, like stamps." He pauses to look back at her incredulously. "Where, on television? Don't make me laugh, kid."

"No, I mean here, in the forest," Anna said, wondering where this was going. "So people would pay a lot of money for eggs which are just going to sit around and collect dust?"
Somehow she had really expected something more. Of course, they probably weren't going to just tell her. She tried to think what the others would have done in this situation. Vasara would probably have made them talk by hanging them by their thumbs from the trees for a while. Danny would have figured out they were lying and ripped their throats out for daring to mess with his totem's children. And Kaleb would have just done a better job at whatever it was she was trying to do. She wasn't really sure what that was.

"Some people collect things. I wouldn't know the details." He shrugged dismissively and fell quiet.

Anna fell silent for a while too, before breaking the silence with more questions.
"So are you driving back to Hamburg?" she asked hopefully.

"When we're done with the weekend. We should get back to Plattenburg soon, I'll drop you off near the castle. I suppose you must of had a look at that at some point?" And they were, Anna could see the occasional structure passing by.

"Yeah," Anna lied, having no idea where the castle was since she'd never been to Plattenburg in her life. "I think I should call my friends though. If they can't pick me up at least they should know I'm ok." She hesitated, giving the false impression that she was being painfully polite and didn't want to impose on their hospitality. "Do you think maybe i could call them from your phone?"

Whether Anna's acting 'skills' were noticed was unclear, since they had their backs to her, but she gets another odd look. "My phone? You want me to drive you all the way to Hamburg to call your friends in Plattenburg?" His companion laughed, a little nervously. "I can probably spare the change for a payphone, if you haven't got it."

"I thought you weren't going back until the weekend was over," Anna said. "I meant a phone... wherever you're staying. Not that it matters, my friends are probably back in Berlin by now. I'll have to take the train."
She fell silent again. Car rides always made her sleepy. She realised that Janne really had horrible friends, leaving her behind in the forest to be eaten by wolves and picked up by strangers.

"We're not. I was kidding." His companion was silenced by a look before he even opened his mouth. "We're not staying anywhere near here though." He pulls the car up on the curb and looks back at her. "Well we're here, I'm sure you can find your way now if you're inclined towards wandering around in the wilderness."

"How am I supposed to get back to Berlin from here?" Anna said, playing the part of a panicky lost teenager (which probably wasn't too hard considering). "This place doesn't even have a train station."
She placed a hand on the door knob, but apart from that made no indication of leaving.
"If you're leaving anyway, can't you at least give me a ride to the nearest town that shows signs of civilisation?"

He turned to face her, his expression suggestive of a 'no'. "I thought you said you came here with your friends? I can't believe they would leave you here with no way of getting back. Even if they did you can probably find a bus to somewhere else, right? No need for us to take you all the way back to Bad Wilsnack."

"Well, thanks," she said, pushing the door open. She hadn't really expected it to work. That would have made things too easy.
She watched the car drive off and started down the street, looking for a bus station, and a bus to drive take her to Bad Wilsnack. She had no idea how she was going to find them once she got there, but she knew she didn't have much of a choice. She had to find a way.
She soon gave up on the bus however, mostly because she realised she didn't have any money, and when you're brought up as an only child of rather well-off parents, you don't get to learn things begging and stealing.
Instead she decided to walk. She found a safe place to step sideways, and (assuming she doesn't get attacked by nasties), shifted to Lupus and made her way to Bad Wilsnack.

Going by road, to avoid getting lost in the wilderness, Anna makes good speed. The long run only takes her an hour before she is at the outskirts of Bad Wilsnack. The town is far larger than Plattenburg and, unsuprisingly, is known for it's spas as well as having a large church.

Anna stopped and shifted to homid before she reached the town's limits. A wolf walking around town would probably attract a lot more attention than a slightly dishevelled teenager.
She took a breath and started to walk into Bad Wilsnack, trying to figure out how long it would take to find a car in this town. She tried not to get discouraged before she'd even started. Once she passed the town centre she tried to find out time it was. There was always a clock hanging around somewhere in the old towns.

Though it was home to a certain amount of tourism thanks to it's spas and church, Bad Wilsnack was not a large town. The search might not be as futile as Anna first thought. On the way down the main road into the town Anna passed the Hotel Ambiente.
