Finally, found it, Jan thought as he approached the trailer. Everyone he had asked had pointed him in this direction. Most were to busy to wonder, but a lot of them gave him suspicious looks. Only when he told them he was kin and friend of Simeon's did they all welcome him and tell him exactly where to find Khristina. Good thing too, as it was starting to get dark.
He paused in front of the door, straightened his hair and his clothes, and knocked on the trailer door.

Looking up from the cards, Khristina wondered who that could be. Ines had gone of to get her tent set up, so shrugging she figured it to be one of the workers. Getting up she crossed the trailer, and stopped at the door. "WHO is it?" she called through the door.
She figured, it was better to be safe than sorry. After all it was a new city and there were bound to be Gaje strangers about.

"It's Jan, I'm a friend of Simeon's. He sent me to check up on you and take you to the Caern if you want!" Jan yelled from outside. He spoke English with a slight German accent, but it wasn't too obvious. "He had to take care of something."
Jan hoped she'd open up and ask more questions later. Right now he was freezing his butt off.

Hearing her Uncles name, she opened the door to see the poor shivering Jan. "Come in." she offered in careful English. She stepped back to let him in. "You said Simeon sent you?" as she studied him trying to see if he was Garou or kin like her.
"Would you like something to drink? Something hot to warm you?" As he had a German accent, hers bore the distinct flavor of her Rom heritage.

"Yeah something hot would be great," he said, making to close the door behind him. He looked a little awkward, probably because pretty girls made him a little tongue tied.
"Simeon had to go do some Garou stuff... I'm kin too, by the way. My grandfather was once a great Ahroun of the Get of Fenris, or so I'm told. None of my family's changed since, although they seem to think my nephew's special. Anyway, I'm rambling."
He smiled and looked at the cards on the table. "So what're these?" he asked curiously.

"Have a seat." she said politely ignoring his discomfort as she set a kettle of water to boil "I have tea or hot cocoa."
Turning part way around she smiled as he referred to her deck of Card. "That is a tarot deck...you use it to tell the future." she said with a wink.
Having set the kettle to warm she walked over and moved her hands over the cards, pulling them into a neat little stack again. "Of course this is the Deck I use for the Gaje...I never use my working deck for serious work."

Jan looked at her suspiciously, trying to figure out if she was serious. Simeon had said she was gifted, after all, but he hadn't mentioned how.
"You have an actual working deck?" he asked, looking at the cards in her hands. "You're not putting me on are you? You can seriously tell the future?"

It was a reaction she was rather used to, and she smiled at him. "Yes, well sometimes. It comes and goes as I am still learning to harness the ability." Sitting down "Some or Rom blood are gifted, I am one who has been so blessed, my gift being the ability to see into the future or into the past. The deck works as a means of focus for it."
She gesture for him to sit, hoping it will make him feel more at ease. But if he can accept the existence of 7 foot plus tall hairy wolves, he should have no trouble with something as simple as the 'sight.'

Jan sat down opposite to her on the table, looking thoroughly impressed.
"I heard the Rom were gifted," he said. "I have learned some things, about spirits and magic, but I always had to find someone to teach me. I don't know them nearly as well as the Garou, and I always have to be taught... so hey, can read you read my fortune?"

Nodding, "Some of the Rom who are kin, can learn the gifts of the Garou...I don't know if I can, I am blood, but my Rom Blood flows more pure and takes me in that direction."
Putting the one deck aside, she pulls another. One that was inside a soft purple velvet pouch. Taking it out, she removed them from their case. Letting her hand rest on top of the deck briefly, her eyes closed. Her whole manner like one who was in silent communication with the cards. Smiling, she nodded, an almost imperceivable movement. "Yes...I think I can." her deck was happy, calm, and that made for favorable readings in her part, no less accurate of truthful, just easier to read.
Slowly she began to shuffle the deck, gentle in her handling of the cards. "Would you like a simple yes no reading or a full reading with a ten card spread?"

Jan considered this, and then figured if he wanted to know his future, he might as well do it right.
"Let's do a full reading," he said. "If that's ok with you of course."
He watched her shuffle the cards, getting this creepy feeling you get when you're about to do something you really shouldn't. Somehow, he wasn't sure he wanted to know his future, but he was too curious to back out. Besides, he wanted to see if she was good.

Looking up she smiled "A full reading then." As she began to lay the cards out, face down. Ash she did so she explained what she was doing " This is a ten card spread, sometimes called a 'Celtic cross'. It is a more advanced spread utilizing ten cards, with each position representing an aspect of the fortune." Each position represents a reading This card" And she taps number 1 (See diagram) is card number one. It is the present: this is the atmosphere you are currently in, and represents you. Next card, this is the immediate influences,, those obstacles that lie just ahead. This card crosses you." "Card three is your goal or destiny. This is based on the current events as they are right here and now. This card crowns you. Four is the distant past, past events that influence the present, it sets behind you. Five is recent events, those influences that are passing or just have passed, it set beneath you. And six." and she touch that card "Is future influence. In a broad sense, this is the sphere of influence that is coming into being in the near future. This card lies before you." Moving to the four cards to the side she touches them in order "Seven is you, the questioner, your present position or attitude with in the current situation. Eight is your environment your influence on other people and your position in life. Nine is you inner emotions, your hopes, hidden feelings, secret desires, fears and anxieties. And number ten is the final results. The Cumulation and results of all the influence that will be revealed by th cards when I flip them over. You understand?" As she looked up at him, before continuing.

Jan nodded, looking at the overturned cards. It was hard to believe that behind them lay clues to his future, his destiny. He just hoped it wasn't too disappointing.
"Alright, let's see what clues they hold." he said cheerfully.

Slowly she began to flip the cards over, her brows rising in surprise as she does so. They reading so far is…different. As the death card comes up she looks up at him before he can react. “Don’t worry, it isn’t like the movies where that is a ‘bad’ thing.” Finally all the cards are laid out. “Eight of swords, crisis and conflict. There is a lot of turmoil in the current situation,. And there is conflict in you, you feel dominated, overly criticized…unimportant.” For obvious reasons that didn’t surprise her, many Kin felt that way, and usually because of how they were treated by their Garou Brethren.
“Card two…Death, not reversed. This is in front of you…it means transformation, a clearing of old to make way for new. Loss. A possible new beginning. “And she looked up at him. “Change pure and simple for good or ill.” Moving to the next card. “Nine of Staves reversed. There a re obstacle before you, that need to be over come. Adversity.”
The whole time she kept an eye on him and the cards. Watching for his reactions. After the first three cards, she paused to see if he had any questions.

Jan tried not to blush as she voiced his feelings out loud. It was strangely accurate, a bit too much to be a coincidence. It was creepy.
But Jan's creepy feeling extended to something else. Something was wrong. It had gotten extremely quiet outside, and dark, as if someone had suddenly cut off the power. He looked away from the cards momentarily and looked out the window.
"I think... something's up," he said slowly. "I have a bad feeling about this."
