Between the two of them, Vasara and Kasiya had given all the explanation needed. Danny remained quiet, looking around and taking in his surroundings. He had visited a few people's dreams, some out of interest, others out of necessity. He had seen people's worst fears and fantasies, but somehow, he wasn't quite prepared for this.
The nine-foot tall man had managed to take him completely by surprise. He made a move towards them, hindered by the all too familiar feeling that the dream didn't want him there. He felt as if he were running through water. He could only watch as Anna was slashed open and strung up by her intestines.
This is much worse than I thought.
"Anna," he called out, but his voice was drowned out by her own screams.

Kasiya does not shout out at first, he simply moves closer, walking calmly into the teeth of a silent storm. He is unafraid of the massive figure who had so mutilated Anna, it had no power over the Strider, and unlike Danny, he had less of an emotional attachment to her. Like Vasara, he would see her dead before he saw her tainted. Without panicking and trying to rush, he moves slowly and steadily as best he is able toward the cub.
As the resistance builds, he is reduced to shouting, he does so without fear, having witnessed worse in the shadowlands. In fact the whole 'hung up by your intestines' theme was rather cliche'd.
"I told you, strength of will. This place is yours, it is you. You have only to make it as you wish it to be. This is not your enemy, just your fear and bad memories. Cast it aside. We have work to do."
At least I can guide you until Fenris' brood choose to do so. That much is my right as Ritemaster.

Vasara stood still. Watching and waiting. This was not his fight, even if his heart yelled at him to try to interfere. He just stood and watched. He was here to witness, to bring War-Maidens to this place, this dream. At least he hoped so.
With demeanor that heralded calm before the storm, he straightened even higher up before crouching down into a form far more fitting. He landed on all fours, bringing forth the Fenris inside, radiating the cold, freezing Rage of his mighty God of War. As a huge, one-eyed, scarred all-over Hispo with a skull blazing bare through the fur of his head, he opened his mouth and howled.
"Cub. Stand and fight or die." he howled, not with particularly loud but very deep voice. This was a dream after all and Vasara was inside it so she must hear it if she decides to listen. At least he hoped so. He wasn't an expert on these kind of things so he went with a gut feeling.

As much as Kasiya liked to think he was impervious to all distress, he was finding the scene rather sickening. His weak mind and stomach threatened to lose control at the terrifying and startlingly vivid imagery of Anna being mutilated and this was only worsened as he forced himself closer. Anna could only hear the whispers of their voices on the edge of her hearing, the terror of her recurring nightmares and the excruciating pain that she'd known only too well in person was overpowering her and it looked like this one would end like all the others. But unlike the others, she couldn't wake up to escape it, she wasn't just asleep this time. She could only choke and gag and try to pull at the slippery intestine tied around her neck. The giant man grinned at them. "You see Anna, they will never help you. They've taken you back because they didn't want you to be with me. Now they're going to kill you. Wasn't I good to you Anna? We could of been special." Vasara drew on the essence of his determined and stalwart tribe, with Anna's subconscious wildly out of control he found his form truly taking on the mighty aspect of Fenris. Even the monstrous creature torturing Anna could not overlook the sight, for Anna had seen it herself, and it locked eyes with Vasara. It did not show fear, but it took on a steady calculating look as it sized up it's opponent.
((Kasiya has spent willpower fruitlessly in his attempt to control someone else's nightmare))

No, this is my trial. They're not going to kill me. This will make me stronger... Anna was finding this less convincing the more she said it to herself. But through it all , she heard their voices, though they seemed distant and weak. However, it was his words that moved her the most. The helplessness and frustration translated into anger at his lies.
"Good to me?" she tried to scream at him, forgetting her fear and pain and replacing them both with rage. With the noose constricting her breathing, however, she only managed to rasp hoarsely. "You sick twisted bastard, my pack is going to kill you!" She dug her nails into the flesh around her neck and they grew into claws in front of her eyes. She tore at them, writhing in pain as she attempted rip her own flesh to shreds and rid herself of the noose.

Finally finding his voice in all this, Danny spoke loudly. "Anna," he repeated. "He is only as strong as you see him. Fight him. We are here to help you."
Even if there was nothing he could do, he knew the reassurance that she wasn't alone in this fight would help her. He had learnt that very recently. Only after he had come to Berlin and fought alongside Bear and the pack did he fully appreciate the importance of having others to fight with. Tonight she had them, tomorrow, she would have Fenris. Maybe I am turning into a pack wolf after all.
Now that the scene was fully formed, he stood next to Vasara and howled too. "Coward," he spoke to the black giant. Though it was Anna's nightmare, he knew he could hear him if she did. "She won't buy into your madness. She is stronger than that. Untie her, and be gone."

Advice well taken.
Kasiya doesn't need to do any more for the moment. Anna's fighting her own battle. Here, she would be as strong as she believed herself to be.
He stands as he is, all his struggling didn't get him much nearer to Anna than the others. Now her danger is being tackled he has a moment to reflect that she must fight alone. Things would have been so much easier if she were to be a Child of Gaia.
Vasara can feel nothing more from the Swan Maidens. They are watching, but Anna's gesture of defiance means nothing to them unless she follows through with it.

Vasara was standing, trying to move where Anna could see him. He wasn't going to interfere. He trusted that if Anna saw she was not alone, and through his Gift she would see the radiating presence of Fenris, she could find the reserves inside her to break free.

He had always liked to talk, to try to tell her she was making him do it and that all her pain was her own fault. She'd seen the most terrifying part of his insanity in their time together, the driving intellect that was behind it. That had always put him one step ahead of her when she'd tried to escape before. But now he was distracted. "She has a strength you would deny her true family, her ancestors tell her the truth and all you do is confuse her with your lies." The intestine around Anna's neck was severed quickly by her claws and she fell to the ground, she just about managed to stay on her feet but the sudden stop caused the rest of her intestines to flop out and hit the ground with a squelch. He turned around at the sound and Anna was standing before him while the others were to his back. For once though, she wasn't in the hive being tormented by the ghosts or in fear of the things the others Dancers would do to her together if she was too troublesome. For once it was just the two of them. She was having difficulty keeping her footing with her bowels around her feet making the ground slick and tangling her legs, but even then she'd never had a better opportunity to fight back. She could see Fenris' might behind him reflected in Vasara, she could see Fenris looking over the nightmare's shoulder and watching her get tortured.

Anna stood before him in her white Crinos form and howled madly. She was howling partly with pain but mostly with triumph. She had broken free this time. It didn't matter that her organs had ended up strewn on the cliff in the process.
"No, you're the one who lies!" she said. "And they are mad! Their words are poison. I will never again have to listen to you or them. My pack will rip you apart. You are nothing against the strength of Fenris."
She howled again, and threw herself at his throat, biting and clawing with all the strength she had left.

Danny grew into his Crinos form and spread his white feathered wings, letting out a howl of his own. In the real world the wings were huge, but in Anna's dream they were beyond that. He glanced at Vasara, and noticed that he had grown larger and more fearsome, almost as Fenris himself. He knew then what was supposed to happen.
"If anyone can defeat this dream-monster, it is you Judgment-from-the-Skies," he howled, lifting off the ground as he called them to battle. They couldn't be hurt here, not in her dream. The only one with anything to lose was Anna. And only her strength of mind could decide the outcome of this battle.
Trust me, brothers. This is just another battle. Danny lunged at the monster, howling an anthem of war as he flew to Anna's aid, trying to tear at the Dancer's flesh, just as she had suggested.

Now she had done what Vasara had been waiting for. She was finally fighting back. And now was his time to show that Fenris helps those who can help themselves. "YOU!" he roared as he leaped in his Hispo against the monstrosity "By Great Fenris and Bear-king! You're MINE!" Vasara had no clue on what would happen here, in her Dream, would this be like fighting in Umbra? Could he die here? Those were thoughts beyond him in this state. It was kill or get killed, the Law of the Strongest. That's all that mattered now. Howling a Warsong of Fenris he threw his mettle against the monster. (OOC: split: Bodyslam & bite) (OOC: sorry for that skipping Kasiya, I thought I make up that short last post now )

While others fought, he must watch. Kasiya stands, small and dark, bearing witness. It was good that the others fought with her. Better that she had strength enough to fight back with her guts around her ankles. He supresses a small and rueful smile that she had not realised that in her dream she need not be injured. But she was young, and she had many problems. Heartening though it is that she fought her fear, that was but the first part of her trial. The others would come soon. He hoped that Anna would be so preoccupied that she did not think of them and bring them to her until she was done with the giant cannibal. The swan maidens are as yet silent and not present. Even in the midst of battle Vasara feels them watching, and the air begins to grow yet colder. The only sign of their approval. Valour was good, but deeds are the making of a warrior.[[No worries. I'm a lover not a fighter. You guys go crazy. ]]

He was ready for it, even now in the normally weak human-like form he caught Anna in mid-air and took only a step back as he countered her momentum. His hands gripped her arms and held her at distance so her teeth could only snap at the air. She managed to rake the claws on her feet at this chest despite this and produce deep gashes in the flesh but still he snapped her arms like twigs in his oversized hands. As Vasara came at him he tossed Anna away like a broken toy, even in the face of her defiance her subconscious wouldn't accept that he was anything but impossibly strong and one fist swang back to strike Vasara in the chest. Vasara felt his ribcage crumple and shards of bone entered his lungs, but like the true Fenrir Anna knew he was this doesn't stop him for a second even as he felt blood flooding his lungs. He bowls into the monster's back and bites flesh from the arm that struck him, causing the arm to fall limp. Down from above Danny swung as the monster reeled under the Fenrir's assault, his claws ripped further strips of flesh from the man's shoulders and chest as he toppled forward. For a moment, Anna's subconscious fought with itself. She'd spent so long under the power of the creature of her nightmares she couldn't accept that it could ever lose, but she also couldn't accept that Danny or Vasara would fall so easily either. Eventually, neither side truly won the battle. As the flesh is torn from his body, the monster tumbles over the cliff and by the time anyone can look, there was no sign of him.
It looked like Anna's nightmare was defeated for now, though she knew it would come back for as long as the monster that had given her the memories was still alive. Vasara felt a few last seconds of drowning in his own blood while Anna lay limp and dying on the floor before things returned to being how they were before. Vasara stood strong again, Anna was whole and her subconscious was back under control.
((Anna can have a willpower point back for defeating her nightmares for once))

Anna stood up. She was in her human form again, and no longer mutilated. She turned around and looked over the edge of the cliff. He was gone. Anna knew he wouldn't come back now, not as long as the others were here.
"I think he's gone," she said.
She turned around faced them again. The Ash tree still existed here, but apart from that, this place looked entirely unfamiliar. Still it somehow managed to tug at her memories.
"Now what," she asked, knowing this was far from over. He wasn't the only demon in her mind.
