"They walk their own path. It is difficult but I can perform the Rite alone at need."
After all I am a lone wolf. He avoids the term Ronin, even in his own thoughts.
"I could perform the Rite while you watch over me, then we could cross over into the building and make our own search. Vasara, Nadya and Saxon are worthy Garou but not suited to quiet work. What do you think?"
He's mindful of the friction between the two of them, making sure it doesn't seem that he wants to railroad Kamut into a course of action he does not wish to pursue.

"It would do no harm to try. I wonder where it would best be performed." He looks around the area, pausing to look directly back towards the library and then off to the sides, before returning his attention to Kasiya at the question. "I would not be so hasty as to act without informing the pack. If we go off on our own investigations without a word of warning and run into trouble they will not be able to find us. Even if we are impatient to take action, I feel we should leave some sort of message." Ronin.
"I'm not so sure the others are incapable, though they may not take it as their first choice. Some do consider skulking in shadows to be dishonorable conduct. I imagine performing the rite over there." He pauses to point off in a direction, perpendicular to the direction the library lies in, and aimed at a side road. "Would serve our purpose."
"Or, of course, the opposite direction. Unless you have any better suggestions?" He doesn't elaborate on the principle of intersecting lines of investigation. Even a totally clueless wolf could figure that part out with it so obviously demonstrated, and Kasiya didn't seem totally clueless.

Indeed he isn't clueless. Finding stuff out was kind of his forte, though he didn't know that Kamut knew.
You're no fun.
Nevertheless, Kasiya accedes agreeably, heading to Kamut's suggested location and sounding out the area. He sniffs, yet is disappointed by his weak human senses, obviously so. He then peers around him, settling himself away from the webs, knowing better than to assume putting his back to a wall gave safety here.
Then, trusting entirely to Kamut's guardianship, he leans over the stone and sounds out the familiar syllables of the Strider invocation that they had all used such a brief time ago. After leading the moot in a rite, returning to his solitary practice feels more than a little empty. Carrying out the Rite alone he is able to fully utilise the form of the Ritual, making almost dance-like movements that echo pursuit and the hunt in the eyes of the perceptive.

Kasiya performs the rite unhindered, with Kamut standing guard over him. It seems that he was wrong in his belief that the spirits had given all the help they could already. Despite the apparent emptiness of the Umbra, Kasiya feels the spirits reach out to him and the stone starts to spin. It comes to a rest a few minutes later, pointing in the direction where Kamut had said the pharmaceutical company was. It seemed like his hunch was right. There is no doubt in Kasiya's mind that the spirits are pointing him in to the pharmaceutical building.

He makes a small and satisfied sound.
"Hmph!"
It seemed that not everything happened for a reason, there were not always deeper meanings and motives. Sometimes stuff just happened. He makes a point of remembering that, in his trade it was easy to get fatalistic.
"It is done."
Kasiya rises to his feet from the kneeling posture he had finished the Rite in. He holds the spiritually empowered stone up for Kamut's regard, to see that it did not sway, pointing unwaveringly toward their prey.
"We can circle the building and place Jan Stoltz exactly."

Kamut nods approvingly, glad to have some direction at last rather than face a blind search. "I suppose we should go to inform the others, then. I don't think there is much we can do here." But he makes no move to step across the gauntlet, still deferring to Kasiya's final decision.

A brief moment passes, Kasiya's head tilted to one side as he resists the urge to continue searching for an Umbral solution and considers what to do.
Then he nods:
"Agreed. This place is barren to us."
I should be glad. At least we can be certain nothing of theirs is going to jump us through the Gauntlet.
The thought is distinctly reassuring, it reduces their task to one of a simplt rescue, no Banes or the like to worry about for now.

Shortly afterwards, Kasiya crosses back into the physical world. Kamut follows soon after with only a little difficulty.
