With the help of the light, Adiyah and Yvonne can see Max as he scrabbles to his feet. They can't see a way down that doesn't involve a lot of slipping and falling. Unfortunately, the way forward seems just as dangerous as Max has dislodged most of the rocks on his way down.
From where he is, Max can see a path that heads downwards. It seems to be pretty safe, but he can't tell if it'll lead anywhere.

Yvonne looks down the short slope to Max's ledge and shrugs. "There's not much else to do then." She lowers herself slowly to sit on the ledge with her legs hanging down the slope, and looks up to Adiyah and offers a hand to help her down onto the slope safely. "After you."

"Ok, I'm pretty sure this leads somewhere..." Max called back up to them. "We'd better stick together."
He didn't know that they didn't have much of a choice in the matter anyway.
"Besides, what sort of explorers would we be if we left without discovering where this leads," he added as an afterthought. It didn't matter that they weren't here to explore to begin with. Max had probably already forgotten that.

"Okay Christopher Columbus........we're coming." Adiyah sighed, nodding to Yvonne and accepting the help. She already had a bad feeling about this, and wondered if silently wishing for a different way out had doomed them all. Yvonne got a weak smile in the light of the orb. "Uh.....thanks. I'll try hard not to fall, promise."
As soon as she was seated on the ledge she searched out a foothold and cautiously started trying to find a way down. This didn't look easy, and they weren't even sure if it lead anywhere worth while. However, there was no way to get Max back up safely that she saw.

Adiyah manages to control her drop at first, but she picks up speed as she continues her descent, and soon enough she couldn't stop herself even if she wanted to. She slides down, snagging her skin on various sharp surfaces as the slope becomes steeper, and eventually drops off and tumbles the last few feet, landing next to Max, who keeps her from dropping any further. She's not seriously hurt, although she is a little jarred from the numerous cuts and bruises which heal over a few seconds later.

With her turn coming, Yvonne joins them as Glabro so she can take a fall if she manages to slip as well. Once Adiyah is back on her feet, and so ready to move out of the way in case all goes wrong, Yvonne lowers herself down and begins her own gentle descent while trying to hold on to anything that could be gripped to slow herself down.

Yvonne's descent starts off much rougher than Adiyah's, and she sends quite a few rocks down towards Max and Adiyah as she slides. She also can't seem to control the slide, and her attempts to hold on to something only cause painful scratches along her arms and hands. Finally, when she reaches the exact same spot where Adiyah did, she drops off the cliff and lands next to the others. She is less hurt, but her clothes have managed to get quite ripped and bloody through the whole ordeal.

Max offered Yvonne a hand up and checked her over by the light of the orb to make sure there were no broken bones. "You ok?" he asked, as the broken skin on her arms and back healed over. "Some slide huh?"
Then he pointed to the passage. It seemed to lead into the rocks. Water dripped from the stone ceiling, and hundreds of tiny little stalagmites and stalagtites had formed where the water was dripping. They would still walk through comfortably in their Glabro forms, but they could only see a few metres ahead, even by the light of the orb.
"Looks like the only way now," Max said, giving both girls another minute to heal up before starting down the tunnel.

"Owww! That didn't go as planned." She takes the offered hand with a smile and dusts herself off. "But I'm just fine. I'm all dirty though, but look! A free shower." Yvonne grins and goes on happily into the tunnel, lifting her face to the dripping water as she goes so she can wash off the dust.

Adiyah felt her skin broken and healed all over again, and held her breath as she saw Yvonne slip and slide down to them. At the Fury's reaction though, she chuckled under her breath and smiled in relief. "That's one way to look at it."
She frowned at the darkness and the passage, and nodded to Max as she moved to follow. "I hope it leads out and not just further in, but it is somewhat dryer."

The passageway got narrower as they pushed through, and sloped downwards. It went on for quite a while, and they had to crawl on their hands and knees to keep going at one point. But after a while, the air seemed to get fresher and the sound of splashing water seemed to get nearer, until Max, who was going first, found himself looking up at a starry sky.
They emerged further down near the river, but not far from the waterfall and the mouth of the cave it was hiding.

Max got out of the hole and turned to give Adiyah and then Yvone a hand up.
"Well, that wasn't as much fun," Max said, pulling himself to his feet and rubbing his sore knees. "Looks like we made it though."
He looked up the waterfall. "Oh, except for that bit," he said, looking at the rocks they had climbed down to get here. "Maybe we should look for a way around..."

"There, it all turned out okay." Yvonne grins happily and takes Max's offered hand gladly. "As long as we don't get lost, I'm not sure I can remember how to get back without being on the river." Yvonne does her best not to look crestfallen as she realises she can't even remember how they got their in the first place, river or not. Max or Adiyah would remember though, so there's no problem.

Adiyah took his hand too, and found herself thankfully out into open air. She took in a greatful breath and nodded to Max. "Considering I'm the one in need of rock climbing lessons, I second that thought."
She grinned, happy that so far, they had made it through this mission that Owl had sent them on. "In lupus we can keep the scent of the river longer than the sight of it."
She looked between the two other garou and the rock wall. It looked formidable, and she wasn't really for scaling it again.

"I don't think we'll get lost," Max said, taking Adiyah's suggestion to heart and shifting to Lupus.
It seems the spirits are watching out for us. They stopped us from getting lost once already.
He couldn't tell why, but he wasn't going to question their good fortune. At least not yet, maybe later, when Owl told them where to find Carsten.
"You still got the stone?" he asked Yvonne. He didn't really know how much of a bad idea it was to trust Yvonne to look after something, he was just asking out of habit.
Then he started to walk along the path, looking for a way up that didn't involve deadly rocks.
