Maria had to push herself to her limits to keep up as the three masked men rushed up the stairs. They had to stop to unlock the third floor door, however, so that gave Maria enough time to catch up.
The first thing Maria noticed as they walked into the first lab were the monkeys. There were three of them, in various stages of adulthood. They were housed in cages that barely gave them enough leg room, and although Maria didn't know much about animals, she couldn't deny that they looked like the saddest things she'd seen in her life.
"What do you think you're doing?" a bespectacled woman in a labcoat, bearing the name "Serena Kleemann" on the her name-tag.
Maria noticed the masked man who was almost certainly Dominic immediately pull out a knife.

Maria almost hissed as she noticed Dominic pulling out the knife. This situation had gone from hilarious to bad, she couldn't have a human murdered, not now, not here. But how would she save this situation without getting her face all over the evening news. Maria walked next to the woman, all the while trying to sound calm and respectable as possible. " I am extremely sorry for this to happen miss, but if you look around, do you not see the suffering of these animals? Even for scuence is it truly needed? We are simply people who have grown tired and sad about the state of these poor creatures. We are not willing to harm you, and would just be glad to transport these animals to a place where they can be safe" Maria said.
(( charisma and empathy roll to tug the heartstrings of that woman))

"I've just about had it with you hippies," the woman said, oddly calm in the face of the knife. Maybe she didn't think the hippies would actually use it. "Do you have any idea how far science has come thanks to animal testing?"
"What are you doing! Those are my parkinson's rats!"
Rafael had just emerged from another room, the doggie-basket fill with small, white mice. He was followed by two angry men, also in labcoats, but Maria couldn't make out the names from here. "Enough of this," Dominic said angrily. It all happened so fast, and one second later, he had embedded his knife in the woman's chest, and pulled it out. The woman gasped and dropped to her knees. "Get the monkey," Dominic said to Maria. "I'll take care of the other two."

Maria growls at Dominic, not a growl of a human, but a deep animalistic one. " How COULD you!?" She growled at Dominic, but ran to take the monkeys, putting them all under one arm. She put her cane under her other arm and grabbed dominic, growling at the man again. "You will NOT handle the rest, you will follow the plan!" she said and began dragging the whole mess outside in best of her abilities.

Dominic was about to protest, but stopped short at Maria's growl. He complied with her request and picked up the other cage with his left hand. The bloody knife was still in his right, in case they should run into someone less willing to cooperate. The two men stopped pestering Rafael and rushed to the bleeding woman's side. "Somebody call an ambulance!" shouted the first, while the second tried to stop the bleeding.
The third masked man, most likely Richard, picked up the last monkey cage and hurried to the door after Dominic, while Rafael brought the doggie-basket with the rats.

Maria, as much as she wanted to, didn't look behind her as she limped down the stair to her best of skills. But somehow, she was able to get down the goddarned stairs.
Maria arrived to the van, her heart pounded like a over excited drum in her chest. Her eyes began to water, and she didn't see quite well before her. She limped next to the car and leaned to it, hitting it with her free hand. Maria could feel tears streaming down her face and they burned like fire. "Christine, as soon as the others have loaded the animals in, drive and don't stop" Maria said to the woman in the wheel. Then she began loading the monkeys inside the van, sobbing.

"What happened?" Christine looked very surprised at Maria's reaction, but when Dominic got into the van next to her, and she saw the blood, she understood. While Maria was talking to Christine, he and Richard had started loading their cages in the van. Rafael took the monkey cage from Maria and loaded it in the van before getting in himself. "Sorry kid, but someone has to take the fall for this," he said to Maria, shutting the door and leaving her standing outside.
"Drive," Dominic yelled. People had started to gather to see what the commotion was about. Christine opened her mouth to protest, but Dominic didn't give her a chance to. "Move! This is the plan!" he yelled, and the van drove off, leaving Maria standing outside the building.

There was a point where anyone, even how calm and soft, had a point where they just had enough. And to Maria, this was the point. Without thinking much, she began running as far from the crowd as she could, trying to find a place to step sideways.

The people on the street looked curiously at Maria, but none of them really understood what was going on. And so nobody tried to stop her as she limped away to find a place to step sideways.
(Will move you back to Lion's thread as soon as the others vacate it. Sorry for the delay, we have some ill posters.)

As Maria found a glass door with nobody near behind it, she quickly slipped to umbra.
As she stared around her in the spider infested mockery of a town, she let it all out of her. Maria shifted to her birth form, sitting on her knees. She stared at the webfilled ground for a few minutes, gathering some strenght to do what she wanted to. Then she looked up to the sky and let out a loud and deep howl.
It started rage-filled and bitter, with sounds of mockery to her mission and quest. Then it turned solemn and sad and if a garou was near, they would have known it was the Dirge. Maria sung it for a while, just letting her sadness of the death of the female scientist ring loud in the umbral night.
The sound changed again, this time turning to a challenge towards Dominic.
Maria kept howling for what felt like a hour. Then she lowered her head and shifted to her lupus form and began padding towards the Library.
