Thursday Night. March 9, 1989
Tristain picked a direction and ran. For a while he was unaware of where he was or where he was going, or even if he was being followed. The street itself wasn't too busy, except for the occasional car passing them. In the lights of the streetlamps, there was a good chance he would be spotted soon.

Tristain stops when he hears a car coming and lays the girl on the ground before stepping half out into the road and waving for the car to stop.

The first car to stop was a fairly new sports car that skidded to a halt in front of Tristain. Two men were in the car, probably just driving home from a night out. They both got out, mostly out of curiosity, but looked shocked when they saw the state Tristain was in.
"Bloody hell, are you all right?" asked the driver. He looked at his friend. "Call an ambulance, man, he's bleeding!"
They don't seem to have noticed Anna yet.

"No ambulance. Get back in and be ready to drive." He moves over to pick up the girl and then quickly goes to get into the car with her. "I said in!"
Once he was in the car, seated in the back with the girl lying across him, he flicks out the knife. "Now drive. I'm not in a fucking-around mood tonight. Just drive calm. No cops, no ambulance, no attention."

The driver swallowed and took a step back, but got into the car and did as he was told. His friend, on the other hand, was unable to get a hold of himself and broke off running in a blind panic. The half-naked man was probably crazy, and the fact that he had a knife and a half-dead victim with him, did not help at all. Silently, the man started to drive, although Tristain had a sneaking suspicion that he had pissed himself.

"I really hope your friend doesn't run into the fuck who did this to her. He's a lot less friendly than I am." Tristain pays a little attention to the direction the car's going as he sets about removing the sheets tied around her wrists and ankles then the gag. Finally, he sets about checking over her wounds, cleaning them as best he can with the sheets and bandaging what needs bandaging.

Anna's injuries are mostly confined to her head, or at least the most recent ones are. She has a nasty head-wound from being slammed against the wall, and her left eye is swollen, and her jaw broken. Tristain can also tell that a few of her ribs are broken. She also has a fair number of older scars, some of which look like they're days old, others seem to go back weeks and months. They don't look like normal every-day scars either. One on her shoulder looks like it was inflicted by something very large and clawed, and some parts of her skin is covered with deep bite-marks. And for some reason, she's wearing a doggie-collar.
The driver kept glancing back in the rearview mirror, horrified. "W-what... who did this?" he managed to stutter.

"The less you know, the less chance you'll get his attention." Tristain dabs at the cuts to her face as best he can and binds a strip of the sheet around her head to support her broken jaw. In all honesty, he's not too worried as she's Garou, this should heal fairly quickly. He removes the collar almost out of principle and lays it aside. If she wants it,s he can have it back, but it strikes him as more the kind of thing the Spirals would do to a captive.

The man continued to drive and glance in the rearview mirror. He still seemed terrified of Tristain, although now that he was talking he tried to appear braver.
"Where should I take you?" he asked. "D-doesn't she need a doctor?"

Tristain smiles. "She's tougher than she looks. She'll be fine." Then the smile fades, as he considers where he should go. "Take a left here, then the third right. Drops us off somewhere dark and forget you ever saw us."

The man nodded quickly, almost crying with relief. He wanted nothing more than to do exactly that. He took a left, then a third right exactly as Tristain had told him, and found himself in a dark alley, in one of the poorer and shadier parts of the city. There he stopped the car and waited for Tristain to get out, hopefully without killing him first.

Tristain gets out, carefully carrying the girl and then turns and heads to the abandonned church. He takes her inside and goes looking for a source of water to clean up her injuries properly.

The church has been closed for a few years due to structural damage. The church has two stories, the main church part and the basement. There is a pastor's office and reception area, and two bathrooms in the basement. Although the facility has no running water anymore, there is still some water in the pipes. The place is quiet, and apart from some spiders, completely abandoned.

Tristain runs out some of the water and wets a strip of sheet before starting to clean up the girl's head. That done, he rebinds her jaw and settles down to watch until she came round. Of course, after a full night of wathing over her apartment, it's not long before the knife slips from his grasp as he slips into sleep.

Tristain drifts into an agitated sleep, the pain in his back keeping from getting comfortable. This last encounter with more werewolves brought up the wolf-dreams again. They were running with him, but he was having trouble keeping up because he was injured. He fell behind, but kept running. For some reason it was very important for him to keep up with them. But they were too far ahead. Surely, he would never catch up now. The largest of the wolves stopped and turned to him, and for the first time, Tristain listened. "Take heart, Tristain. You are almost home."
He woke up in a sweat, shivering, and a few minutes later managed to go back to sleep. When he woke up a few hours later, he could barely remember the dream.
(Yes, Anna can wake up now, having healed 1 bashing damage.)
