"Uhh, yes. It is rather confusing since the book is written in a language called Enochian. I have no clue how to read it, but I hope I can find someone who can. I'm Garou, but I can't do everything."
Adran didn't tell her about the writing on the margins that he had an idea of how to translate. He couldn't tell her anything about that. He hoped that Christiane was interested in both him and the book. So hopefully his charm would allow him to attract her closer to him.
He smiled at Christiane and said, "After the battle is over and the celebrations or dirges are done. Would you like to join me at my shop so I can show you what I have on the occult?"

A few minutes after Jona and Jan headed outside, while Jess busied herself with the supplies and Adran discussed matters of the occult with Christiane, the lights suddenly went out. They did so abruptly and throughout the entire library, and the only light left was that the fire was providing.

She was already on edge, and having Adran shift forms and express concern hadn't helped her own edginess. Still pacing around she listened to the conversation with half an ear, most of her focus on the library as a whole. but even that wasn't enough, she jumped when the lights went out and swore. "Shit!"
Here in the library, and with kin she knew it was safe to shift, and went to her lupus form, to see if the eyes of a wolf would be better then those of a human.

Jess spins around from the cabinet as the lights go down and snarls. Not good. She also shifts, rising up into Crinos, then thinking better of it and sinking down into lupus. It could just be a power cut, after all.

As soon as the lights went out, Adran shot into his crinos form before figuring that with all the garou in the library, an attack would be quite noticeable. He shifted into his glabro form and tried to make his way to Jess. Adran then said to Jess, "We should find your packmate Jona. This could be a wonderful opportunity for an attack, so we should have Jona around just in case. You mind coming with me, since it isn't so wise to scout alone in a crisis?" He hoped that Jess would come along since he didn't feel quite so safe venturing out alone.
(OOC: Hopefully Jess does understand the Mother's Tongue in lupus.)

Jess looks up at Adran, then starts towards the door. She pauses, and reverts to homid, remembering what had been said, before heading outside. Glancing back at Em, she says. "Just scream if anything jumps out of the woodwork, k?"

Em's head swung towards Jess and Adran, as she gave a soft 'wuff' and a barely perceived nod of her head. It wasn't for her to say anything, but she thought it was folly to go and leave the Kin folk with only one for protection.
With that thought she moved slowly to where the two had been and gently bumped then til they were closer together and then did her best to make them understand they needed to get low to the ground, as best she could in this form. This way they would be smaller targets and easier to defend if need be.

(Only one of the kin is still here. The second one left with Jona.)
Adran and Jess left through the front door. They passed Carsten on the way towards the gate, talking to a woman they had not met before. He didn't stop them, although he didn't seem to be aware that the lights had gone out and they were panicking over it.

Christiane looked worried at all the shifting around. She didn't know how dangerous things were, and whether or not she should be here.
"Uh, I'll go check circuits," she said. "They might've overloaded or anything."

Jess looks around for Jona and Jan, or a car for that matter, and spots the Elder. Not knowing who the woman is, Jess decides to play it safe. "Heya," she offers Carsten a smile as she wanders up behind him, taking on an air of calm cheerfulness with relative ease. "Lights've gone. We were just gonna go find the boys, make sure they haven't done something stupid. Did you see which way they went?"

"Jan and the other boy?" it was the woman who answered. "They headed down towards Jan's car. It's parked around the corner."
Carsten looked up at the building. "Head up to the library," he said to the woman. "Stay there. I will be there soon."
Then he looked at Jess and Adran. It paid to be careful, and he appreciated that they had the sense to be on their guard. "Find the boys and head back up here," he said. "I'll check out the lights and alert the guardians."

If a wolf could truly roll its eyes Em would have. Sometimes Kin were a bit silly. But rather than try to argue with the girl she moved to the girls side to move with her. They were safer as a pair anyway. beside...it was very possible the chit could fight, one thing she had learned in the Americas...one shouldn't dismiss kin because they couldn't shift.

Adran nodded at Carsten and said, "Hopefully he'll be around, but if something's happened to him, we'll go straight to you, Elder."
He waited for Jess before going around to Jan's car.

As the woman was identified as kin, Jess' attitude becomes a lot more serious. No need to pretend that things weren't dangerous. She nods to Carsten, "Ok," then takes off round the corner at a jog.

A couple of minutes after Adran and Jess left the library, Carsten and Evie joined Emelie. He looked around for her, and was a little surprised to see her crouching in Lupus near the ground. Before he could say anything, the sounds of gunshots filled the night. Two successive cracks of a gun. They seemed to come from the village, towards the West.
"Go upstairs," Carsten said to Evie. "And call your husband and son. Make sure they're all right."
He then turned to Emelie. "Your pack is out there," he said. "Let's go find them. Do you know how to use a gun?"
