Kamut looks up from the screens to Kasiya. "I'm not sure if we can beat this other team with just the two of us. I know I could sneak past them..." He isn't so sure about Kasiya. Striding silently doesn't help hiding in plain sight. Another, more likely, idea strikes him. "We should leave now, we might be able to trap them in here while they investigate the bodies." Kamut heads for the door, bundle of tapes under his arm, and edges the door open using the side of his hand to move the handle so he continues avoiding leaving any prints. He isn't sure where the team are coming from, but looks around the corridor to compare it to the camera footage, and makes his best guess about which way to head from the doorway so that he wont be going straight towards them.

Keeping hold of the radio Kasiya nods tersely. Being effectively trapped doesn't do a lot for his peace of mind, and he follows Kamuts exit eagerly, trusting to his seemingly better familiarity with his surroundings and the situation at hand.
Following a couple of paces behind Kamut, he gives the best help he can, keeping aware of their surroundings and keeping all his senses alert for incipient danger.

From where he is, Kamut can see a large mostly empty hall with a large vacated reception desk. If he leans out a little, he can even catch a glimpse of the team as they advance slowly and carefully. They seem to have stopped briefly near the entrance to issue some orders before heading out again.

"Not an option, but we're right beside the stairwell..." Kamut glances back at Kasiya, waiting for confirmation before stepping out the door. He walks calmly for the stairwell door, since the guards might open fire on sight if they're obviously suspiscious but thinking they might have a couple of seconds more if they're calm about it. If the approaching grunts give either of them any attention, he runs the last few steps to the cover of the stairwell at full speed. ((going for a dodge into the cover of the stairwell if the badguys show any sign of opening fire... but that's all pending kasiya's agreement, I just didn't feel like posting two lines ))

Another nod.
With only one course of action he follows Kamut without hesitation. Walking calmly, he knows the value of hiding in plain sight. It works in the wild, it can work here.
((Dodging for cover right behind Kamut if the guards do anything overtly violent.))

Kamut and Kasiya draw the attention of the armed men as soon as they're out of the door. They're still advancing slowly, but stop at the sight of the two of them and quickly take a more defensive stance.
"Hey, you!" shouts one of them. "Step out and keep your hands where I can see them." They don't fire straight away, since there's always the slight chance that Kamut and Kasiya could just be random lost office workers. Alright, so it's a very slight chance, but the fact that they actually are walking out with their hands in plain view was helpful.
Kamut and Kasiya have already reached the stairwell by the time the man realises his mistake. "Alright, that's enough," he says threateningly.
But with one quick action, Kamut has already opened the large fire door that leads to the stairwell. The men open fire, but Kamut manages to take cover and duck behind the doorway, avoiding getting shot completely. Kasiya isn't as quick as the Ragabash, and as he dives for the safety of the stairwell, he feels the lead rip through his flesh, throwing him off balance. He lands somewhere near the stairs, bleeding heavily as the large metal door swings shut, protecting them from further fire... for now.
Damage (in lethal) Kasiya 4 (Must spend rage/will to ignore stun)

Kamut reaches back to slam the door shut, before moving away from it in case the men started shooting through it. He offers Kasiya a supporting shoulder, holding the stack of tapes under his other arm, before continuing up the stairs as quickly as possible. They don't have time to move slowly for the injured.

Ow! So much for not being threatening.
Relying on force of will rather than Luna's Rage to keep going he uses his free hand to pull him up the stairs, doing his best to follow Kamut even slowed down by unfamiliar bullet wounds. Once he got up a flight of stairs he'd pause long enough to shift to Glabro, but right now he needed to get the hell out of dodge, even if he wasn't at full speed.
I've never been shot before...

As the bullet holes in Kasiya's side start to close up, Kamut half-pulls him up the stairs towards the first floor. From above, they can hear the unmistakable sounds of gunfire, accompanied by the occasional scream and loud clatter as things and people get tossed around. They are barely halfway up when they hear the door downstairs open and the sound of approaching footsteps fill the stairwell.

Kamut doesn't stop to specuate, he keeps moving up the stairs giving Kasiya whatever support he needs to keep moving quickly. At the top of the stairs he pushes open the door and peeks through, ready to draw back at any sign of more guards.

Strangely no thoughts of nobly waiting in ambush cross Kasiya's mind. If they could get up the stairs to their friends they would have a chance. At least they'd done some good when Kamut stole the tapes.
He uses Kamut and the bannister equally as they climb.
As Kamut peeks into the corridor he flattens his back against the wall to keep an eye on anyone coming up the stairs, taking the chance to let the bullet wounds close up.

Kamut opens the door slightly and peeks into the corridor, but finds it too dark to make out much. As his eyes get used to the darkness, he can just make out two shapes struggling on the floor.
The other group of guards is hot on their tails, and they reach the foot of the stairs, moving together like a highly trained team should. Kasiya's gunshot wounds close up some more on the way up the stairs.
Kasiya: 2 levels of lethal remain. You have one turn before the guards are within line of sight (to fire)

Kamut looks down the stairwell and back up indecisively for a moment, then shrugs. Whoever was on the other side of the door is either going to be friendly, or in a very poor after fighting the others. He pushes through the doorway ready to leap aside at any sign of an attack.

Slipping through behind Kamut into the darkness, Kasiya immediately steps to one side of the doorway to get out of sight of the ascending guards, ducking down if they are met with gunfire.
He doesn't mind the darkness. It's somewhat of his natural element.

Kasiya and Kamut slipped through the doorway just in time to come face to face with a bloodthirsty gun-slinger. Luckily, said gun-slinger turned out to be Nadezhda. They found themselves in a corridor that held evident signs of the battle. Their friends were all standing still, and their enemies seemed to be defeated. The other guards were still in hot pursuit, and they didn't seem to know what was awaiting them on the other side of the door, because they kept running up the stairs.
