Shadow Lords are uploading now.
Not sure what you mean by "misunderstood" tribes. I've now heard that said of just about every tribe in WtA.

>> Shadow Lord<< tribebook is up. Hmm, not sure you can actually play a tribe "wrong". Tribes have all sorts, there's the ones that basically are walking stereotypes, and fit the description as other tribes see them. They're probably the reason these stereotypes exist to begin with. And there's the ones that are the other extreme.

It's the fact that people tend to believe what they're told. If I tell you the sun has turned purple, you won't believe me. But you'll still take a look for yourself.
We're told that shadow lords are sneaky and evil and on a subconscious level we believe it as given. They get played that way, they get stereotyped and again, in the theme of believing what we're told, we begin to conform our characters to that stereotype. People are wierd.

Wendigo. I think this is second ed, though not revised. You never met Feudbringer, Mike's Shadow Lord in Zeitgesit. He was a cool character. Sneaky, somewhat dodgy, but always doing his bit to fight the wyrm in one way or another. He had the undying respect and trust of my Silver Fang, which is saying something.

It is indeed. There's nothing really all that wrong in fighting the Wyrm in such a manner that it benefits yourself. Is there?

The trick is to get your priorities right. I always felt Feudbringer had, so he had my trust. He died in the Labyrinth, though I'm not sure my character knows this yet.

I'm still sceptical. I don't think any of that made sense, but here's the >>Bone Gnawer<< book.

Ta. It's alright. I wasn't even sure I understood it as I was writing it. One of those stream of consciousness things.

Of course, there's the tribal stereotype and the tribal archetype. It's easy to confuse the two, and when the stereotype starts bleeding into the archetype characters start living up to the wrong things. Characters should tend towards their tribal archetype, though by no means should that archetype define the character, as that's how they're raised and taught after their change. Take the Fenrir - archetypically they're proud and fierce, not scared to give their life in a glorious fight for Gaia; stereotypically they're war-hungry and mindlessly violent, not scared to give their life in a stupid fight for Gaia. I think we know what happens when that stereotype gets involved in the archetype I AM THE REAPER! I can only think of one of my NPCs that has actually lived up to the tribal stereotype. I hope my PCs just live up to the archetype - if they live up to any template at all.
