The old concrete structure was a true eyesore in the surroundings of Berlin that had been rebuilt in recent decades. The structure was a large, rough, grey mass with holes for windows on the ground and first floor. Though the windows could be seen very usual activity going on, the first floor seemed dedicated to a mass of office cubicles. The ground floor was much the same, with the exception of the reception area and a few other areas of the building that didn't have outside windows. At the rear of the building was a large windowless extension that didn't extend above the ground floor, and had a pair of garage doors big enough to accept a moderately-sized truck. A service entrance was also visible beside them.
-- 13/03/89 -- Cloud-Dancer and her carload of Garou drove into the area to take a look at the disturbance.

Katrine had finished two sandwiches already and her lazy morning expression had changed into that of a garou paying attention. She watched signs for each road and street, it might come handy before she expected it to. The car window was up and it would be horrible getting out in the “fresh air” around here. Tyrfing where hidden at her feet, no reason to risk trouble unless they had no other choice. “Are we there yet?” She asked Cloud, not realizing how much that sounded like every kid who ever travelled in a car

Simeon had set back in the car seat and watched the city scape go by. One the outside the city had its unique charm but under it all it was like another. If one was to slip into the Umbra one would see Weaver's webs all about the place, there were some Garou who thrived in these places, Simeon didn't know how.
Upon arriving at the building he looked out the window and 'cased' the place out before speaking finally. "I have never seen such a storm." his voice was slightly distracted as he kept looking about the place. "An office building...how nice." His smile was a bit on the bland side since it meant the place would be a high draw for Weaver's minions, hopefully they would be too busy with their 'own' oblique tasks to pay them any mind.

Hands of Mercy had tried to follow the route they had taken from the Caern, but had to give up after a short while. He found the complexities of the city-scape too much to keep track of at such a speed. When they arrive he looks at the building carefully, though he has little experience of what to compare it with.
"What kind of conflict sparked this? The place doesn't look like it's seen battle."

"I guess we're about to find out," Cloud-Dancer said, parking the car and opening the door. "Leave your weapons, we won't need them here."
She had left Medraut behind at the Caern. She stepped out of the car and took in the view of the building.
"Any of you see anything especially strange about this place?" she asked.

There was truly nothing even vaguely interesting about the old building. The only thing that was even remotely remarkable was that it hadn't been knocked down yet and rebuilt as less of an eyesore. The cold and the light rain blanketing the city did nothing to make the building less gloomy. The parking lot in front of the building was filled with cars, presumably of the employees. There wasn't any sign of anyone going in or coming out of the building.

As she got out of the car, she brushed off bread crumbs from her t-shirt and looked around. In the real world the place looked depression, hundred souls trapped in this weaver place. She knew as well as nothing about how the storms where created and why, so it was kind of hard to put a finger on it. Like finding a crack in a broken mirror, there were a million options. “What are we looking for and why here?” Asking was about the only option for her, if she wanted to be able to help in any way at all

Getting out of the car slowly Simeon looked about the area and then over at Cloud Dancer. “I am not very familiar with this phenomenon either, so perhaps it is best if Cloud-Dancer explains.” His eyes went back to the building studying it thoughtfully; crossing the Gauntlet would be difficult here.
“The building is….a relic that is ill suited.” Continuing to sweep the area he used all the sense he could in his rather limited form to see what was amiss. While he spoke he he used his gift to invoke the waking dream and pull the other three into a more private and silent form of communication. Though I think perhaps that talk should be done here where prying eyes and nosy ears can't be listening in, if I may mix my metaphors.
(Use perception to see what else there is to see and Mindspeach for the four of them to talk more privately. )

Hands of Mercy blinks a little as he is brought into the Mindspeech link, but doesn't resist.
I'm afraid it looks like a building to me, is all he has to offer. The scab was not familiar enough to him for him to be able to offer any useful insight into their location.

That is the point, Cloud-Dancer said, used to the concept of Mindspeak by now. It's an eyesore, but it doesn't look like much. But let's take a look from the other side.
She started to retreat, walking away from the car, and away from the building until she reached an open apartment building and stepped inside. "This should be safe," she said, and pulled out a small mirror. "It's not going to be easy reaching so don't break my mirror."
ST Note: You might want to spend willpower on the roll since it's the inner city and the gauntlet is very thick. Please specify in your post if you're spending willpower or gnosis to step sideways.
Simeon also spends 3 willpower points to bring the group into mindspeak, assuming he brings everyone in.

Katrine follow Cloud Dancer and placed herself, so she could see the mirror too. Having people speaking in her head did creep her out a bit, but she could see why it was the smarter choice doing it like this. From what she could hear Hands and Simeon knew a little bit more then she did, so she listened to them and since Cloud did not bring up tactics or being prepared, this seemed more like a field trip, then anything they could not handle. Stepping sideways into the Umbra
(Not spending anything, taking her time.)

Simeon looked over at Cloud-Dancer with a slight twitch of his lips and nodded. Always nice to know that some things were exactly what they seemed to be, on the outside. As they moved towards the building he kept his sense alert out of habit. He wasn't sure what exactly Cloud was referring to, so it was a mixture of curiosity and concern that he followed.
I haven't broken a mirror in ages...not since Kodjovi broke my nose. He said it would improve my looks. He gave Cloud-Dancer a quick wink before slipping into the Umbra following Katrine. Once there he would shift to his Lupus form and scan the area for anything of interest or concern.
((Spending one Gnosis to cross over ))

Hands of Mercy follows the rest and also looks into Cloud Dancer's mirror to step across. He's curious what this storm will look like, whether he will be able to match it to any stories he's heard. I shall be careful.((Not spending, trusting to my reasonably high Gnosis score . aka watch me fail.))

Sacrificing a little of his essence to ease the way, Simeon stepped through without trouble. Hands-of-Mercy found the gauntlet too thick to pierce, even with the assistance of the reflection, and when Katrine looked into the mirror and tried to reach it just shattered and shards of glass clattered to the floor.
((that leaves simeon on 2 gnosis, 3 will, and only he makes it through - continued <here> the rest of you will be at +2 difficulty and you don't have a mirror, which is gonna make it practically impossible to step without burning gnosis or will))

Cloud-Dancer laughed as the mirror shattered. They were obviously not city kids. "I told you not to break to break my mirror," she said. She seemed more amused than annoyed, however. "Come on, let's not keep Simeon waiting." She started looking around for another reflective surface for them to use. "Don't underestimate the gauntlet so deep within the city," she advised. "The weaver is strong here."
