Many things are wrong, but only a few that we can do anything about.
"We return to the Hive. I have convinced Mephi-Walks-With-Death that you should come."
He has much more to say, but this Cub does not seem one to be lectured or talked over. He would let her have her say. He knows what her next question will be.

Anna got up immediately. She had fallen asleep in her clothes. They were the same clothes she'd had on when they had subdued her and Simeon at the hospital, and they were rippped and torn, and covered with blood and other much less pleasant things. But Anna didn't seem to notice.
"So they haven't returned," she said. "Then they were right. I'm ready to go now."
But even though she looked determined to go back, she was far from hopeful. It was now a full night since they'd been gone, and their chances were getting lower by the minute.

"But we are not going now."
Damn, I need the monkey shape to talk properly.
Kasiya makes the slow change into Homid, appearing now as a slightly built, short young man with dark skin and hair and few distinguishing features save for his racial heritage. He looks about as unthreatening as one can be, yet his bearing will remind her of one thing shared with Vasara. He leads. He did not before, but he does now, and it shows in the fine details of his posture.
"Mephi-walks-with-Death has howled for the Fury Ahroun. She, you, I and Kamenwati will return to the Hive, but before she arrives you and I have a few moments. Mephi-walks-with-Death has had charge of your tuition until now, but you need different lessons. You know how to be Garou, it is time to learn how to be a Theurge if you are willing."

For a short while, Anna just stared at him. She wasn't surprised that she was being offered tutelage by a complete stranger. Not really. After all, Danny and Vasara had been complete strangers too. She was just wondering how much this had to do with the dead. She suspected a lot. She also suspected that he knew a lot of things about her.
"You mean, you mean them don't you," she said. "Children like Eva, and others. There are others aren't there. Is that a Theurge thing?" She probably wasn't really aware of the fact that she was making little sense. But Kasiya probably understood. He understood a lot of things. It only then occurred to her that she'd never actually met another Theurge. "OK," she said, nodding her head quickly.

Is that a Theurge thing? So much is the province of the Theurge.
"There is too much to say it all now. It is our place to see where others do not. To understand the workings of Gaia. To explain enough that our comrades are guided but not so much that they lose their wonder of the Spirit world. We are mystics and shamen to the Garou."
Do you remember? 'I am a Theurge, I know many things'
"We all have different insight. Most have an awareness and understanding of Spirits. Some, like us see the spirits of the dead, which are not true spirits, but we are rare. Some, and not only Theurges commune with their ancestors. I can show you about all of them, help you find balance. Today you will learn about the Dead."
Because it is the dead that I must aid.

Warmed up from her morning jog, Yvonne is quite pink despite the cold weather when she arrives. She knocks, but enters momentarily since no-one seemed to have locked up. Seeing only Simeon awake, with Martin still asleep by the fire, she walks over to him. "Good morning... ummm... sorry I've forgotten your name." She looks a little embarrassed, she probably looks a little less the mighty warrior of Gaia than she did the previous day, with her hair all neat and tidy and wearing a blue wooly jumper.

Insight? Is that the Theurge version of insane?
The last thing Anna wanted to do was commune with them. More than anything she had wanted them to leave her alone. But she knew that wasn't really an option.
Because you're never alone.
Kasiya was probably observant enough to notice the sudden shift in demeanour. Anna was trying very hard not to move her gaze from his face, but out of the corner of her eye, she was looking at something else. And whatever it was, it was scaring her blind. "So how do we help the children?" she asked, still staring pointedly at him.

Troubled, but needing her good faith, he answers her question before posing his own:
"It is not just the children. Many souls are trapped between Life and Death. The children are my calling, to lay their souls to rest a duty laid upon me by Gaia. We can release them by helping them resolve the issues that tie them to the living. It can be family, duty or fear. Some thing may tie them here. It is different each time. We may have to free each child on it's own terms. It is never easy. Sometimes we need to show them the way, but you lack the knowlege and power to do so now.
What is it you see here that causes you such fear?"
He resists the urge to look to the object of her attention. All this talking is a drain upon him. As far as Kasiya is concerned it is far better to learn by doing. Let her try, let her ask her questions and learn from her victories and defeats.
Being from lupus descent, Kasiya has never learned to disguise his intent or emotions. He seems singularly focussed on Anna, once more living in the now, with nothing but her tuition in mind and no ulterior motives.

"Nothing," Anna lied. She regretted it once and the guilt of it almost made her blush. Luckily, it was still a little too dark to notice. She didn't like lying to him. Besides, he could probably tell it was a lie anyway. "That's how you found us," she said suddenly as it dawned on her. That's what the ghost had meant, that's how they both knew about Eva. She had been pushing them away, and they had saved her life. "But there's so many of them," she said. "We should get going soon if we want to free them all."

ST Note: Anna and Kasiya's conversation continued UpstairsBy the time Danny joined them in the Library, the sun had already risen. He took care to step around Martin without waking him, and then walked over to Simeon and Yvonne, interrupting their conversation before it had really even started. "Although I have my misgivings about it, I am convinced you must return to the hive," he said, deciding to spare Kasiya the trouble of explaining things twice now that Yvonne was here. "To look for signs of Vasara's pack, and help bring them back. Kasiya has his own things he must do too. I trust you two to watch his back, so I asked him to take you along. But you must be careful."

"Okay, we will be. What does Kasiya need to do?" She ponders the next question a second. "So it's just the three of us going? Is that really safe? What about... um..." she racks her brain, but totally unsuccessfully, then tries to find something descriptive "that big hairy guy? I mean, you're big and hairy, but he's bigger and hairier."

"Ilya?" Danny asked. "He's gone home. The only current safe passage across the wall requires a short Umbral hop which to Ilya doesn't come easily. Gurahl do not find the gauntlet as easy to cross as we do."
Apart from the cub, well that was everyone. Except the other Theurge. "There is strength in numbers. Maybe you can call Adiyah, the Theurge you found yesterday. She left her number by the phone."

"Oh ok. I'll call her then." She steps through to the kitchen and picks up the phone, finds Adiyah's number after a few seconds then calls her. While it rings, she peeks out the kitchen at Danny. "What's a Gurahl?"

"A Bear-Changer," Danny explained, leaning against the kitchen doorway. She had left before he had properly introduced Ilya the night before. He was a little curious to ask what had happened, but decided to answer her question properly first. "There are a few of Mother Bear's children in the world still," he said. "Most distrust us, and justly so after what our fathers have done during the war of Rage. But Ilya has seen past that. The pack is watched over by a Bear Spirit, one of the ancient Bear Kings, in fact."
Danny probably wouldn't have time to say much more than that before the phone picked up. Actually, I think that itself was pushing it.

(by phone)
After a few rings, someone picks up and as soon as she speaks Yvvone will recognize Adiyah's voice.
"Hello, Orlen residence."
