Martin quickly looked away and stared at Middle Born instead. Then he looked at Sakura, who was hurt. He wondered what had happened to get her so bloodied up, but he let Kamut do the talking. He was feeling very much like a fish out of water. He had, of course, no idea that Middle Born was feeling exactly the same way.

He smiles, of course. Keeping Danny's suggestion in mind, Kamut crafts his response appropriately. "I got carried away picking things out of my teeth." He had a feeling being offended would only antagonise her further, so took it in good humour. "We came because Danny didn't think any more were needed for you." Dropping his name, then suggesting her unimportance, although two Garou were hardly a trivial matter. No direct threats, but possibly enough to bruise her gentle ego while simultaneously placing it on Danny's head. It's not like her opinion of him could get worse anyway. "So you said you have one of my kind in your care?" He keeps his eyes firmly locked on hers throughout the conversation, for a few reasons.
((fatal flaw on Karin, just in case there are weaknesses more subtle))

Middle Born stood still watching everything carefully, trying to follow all that was going on and that was being said, luckily she was reasonably intelligent could process the situation to a certain degree.
Her nostrils flared and her ears twitched under her hair as she tried to get some indication of exactly who these two new people were. Middle Born had been aware of those in her tribe that had broken one of the laws and had been punished; she remembered one of their cubs too. It made her wonder if this one was the same.
Even if it was at this moment Middle born did not mind all she wanted was to leave this place, and these strange people and return to her own kind. While the other two were talking the Shadow Lord tugged a little at her clothing, trying very hard to look inconspicuous, which was somewhat difficult for her.

Karin laughed. After a while she realised that everyone else had missed the joke and stopped laughing. "And yet he didn't dare come himself," she said. "Well fine, next time I shan't be bothered. I'll just let your cubs rot in the big shiny place." She jerked her head at Middle Born. "That's her," she said. "You puppies should really take better care of your kids. Maybe put collars on them or something. And teach them some manners. Next time he points at me I'll bite his finger off."

Middle Born curled her lip and showed her straight white teeth, she understood the word collar oh so well. No one had explained anything to her, so this was now growing more confusing, and more difficult.
The lupus wondered if she was not just going back to some other white room with its acrid stench that burned her nose.
It was then she spoke slightly gutteral and unsure of the language. “Where are you taking me, where am I going, I wont be in a cage again, no more collars, no more cutting no more metal teeth that burn.” Her eyes narrowed, and a low growl or as much as she could manage one in this form rumbled in her chest and throat.
"You will take me back to more wolves and forest?"

His tribemate a far greater concern, he answers her worries first. "I will show you to the Caern, from there you can choose where to go and I'm sure someone will show you out of the city if that's what you desire." He keeps his demeanour as gentle as he can since he didn't want to put any pressure on her, he was pretty certain Danny could do plenty to try to get her to stay. He looks across at Sakura then back at Karin. "And who is your other, rather seriously hurt, companion?"

Karin turned to the wolf and gave her a bored look. "Don't care," she said. "Quit your whining and let the grown-ups talk, alright?" She went back to ignoring Middle Born and turned her attention back to Kamut.
"That's my new friend," she said. "She's not really any of your business. Take the whiney kid and get out of my face. She's grinding on my last nerve. Tell that Owl-Fucker he owes me big time."

Martin tried very hard not to look at Karin. She shouldn't be scaring him. Actually, he could probably knock her out really easily if he wanted to. However, something about her did intimidate him. Danny had told him to let Kamut do the talking and just keep his eyes and ears open. So he did just that and tried to ignore the Rat.
Instead, he looked at Middle Born. She was like him. She had also been in a cage. He gave her a faint smile.

It was not that the lupus was not grateful to the ratkin for getting her out, both she and the fox. However she was finding the woman was grating on her in return. Another low growl escaped from her mouth again.
It was only then she caught the smile on Martin’s face, he was young, and though she was not wholly sure if he was wolf born like she was, Middle Born had a pretty good idea he was. She went over and bumped against him giving a soft wuff as she did.
She turned then to Kamut, and shifted on her feet, obviously wanting to leave, and leave soon. Both the place and the company was hardly something she would choose.

She had been expecting the Rat to pawn her off to the wolves, but her reply left her a bit confused as she gave the other s curious look. "Ah, so you wish to burden yourself more with my presence, I do not mind, as long as you have a healer. If not I am afraid I must decline and leave with them, for surely they will have one with such abilities."
Looking over to the other two she gave a partial smile "I am Sakura..." She went no further than her first name, yes they may be Garou, but she was still wary, after all they had waged a war against the other fera.

Maybe a rat, maybe a wolf, but why isn't she healing? Kamut watches Sakura curiously before answering Karin's question. "She seems to be more inclined not to be any of your business, a sentinment I've often heard echoed." He smiles at her and continues, doing his best to distract Karin from antagonising the others. "Although I must say I find you most charming." After holding the smile only a second, Kamut nods politely to Sakura. "As much as I regret admitting it, you presume too much, who are you to invite yourself into our company?" He glances momentarily at Middle-Born, wondering if she might be able to give a less misleading explanation, but his attention focuses on Sakura.

Karin looked at the Fox and shrugged. "Yeah," she said, turning to look back at Kamut. "I'm bored of this now. There's something important you should know, but I'm not saying anything out here in the open. Get your kids back to the forest and then get in touch with me. The pack knows how to find me."

Middle Born was a lupus, she did not play games, even if her tribe had a reputation for it. No she was a wolf first, at least thus far.
As it was the lupus knew who were as her now and felt a little stronger, a little more in control.
“She is a fox.” Middle Born said without reverence, as she was hardly impressed. “Yes she a fox, but she is not like the clever Acrtic Fox. “
The Shadow Lord looked at Karin and spoke once more, "You are very rude I think, like the females that clean two legs mess. I thank you for getting me out, but for that i will say maybe you will be better if you think before you speak."

Meeting Kamut's eyes, a bit of anger in her own. "I am of the Emerald courts...and I see why the Rage war happened. Even now after all these years you are arrogant and without compassion. It is amazing Karin even decided to help you kin." Her voice was proud now as she straightened up and looked at them all. She would ignore the pain and return to the place she had claimed as her own. "I most politely refuse both of your's "generous" hospitality, and return to the place that is my own."
She had watched the path here, and was sure once away from the building and the shen that existed in and around it, she could slip to the Umbra and speed her journey back to the flat. And then like any fox, would lick her wounds til she was able to travel once more. Perhaps the Sunset people were not yet ready to become allies to the courts.

Kamut frowns momentarily, his tribemate's perception was clearly without flaw. His annoyance at the Kitsune's impetuous response is easily supressed and he continues in a calm, even tone. "I did not refuse your company, I merely questioned your imposition upon us. These are not times for anyone to turn away a potential ally. Of course you will choose your own path." He nods to Middle-Born and talks quietly, not intending for Sakura to hear the words. "I think it is time for us to leave, I seem to have made myself unwelcome amongst our noble peers." He smiles and nods to Karin and Sakura, then takes a step back before turning and walking back towards the car.
