Simeon did his best to follow, but his German, at best was lacking. But he was able to pick up a few words as the young woman spoke. Enough to realize there was trouble a foot, but then wasn't there always?
He waited quietly for the Caren leader to think over the womans words, after all he was a stranger here, and it wasn't his place, yet, to intrude.

Danny looked over the pictures, his expression getting graver by the second. When he spoke, it was in English, so both of them would understand.
"The veil-breacher isn't in here. He's on the surveillance tapes though. We'll need to send the boys to find them and destroy all traces of them, after they've dealth with the murderer,"
Danny could read well enough to look through the reports quickly, but a lot of the bigger words left him a bit puzzled. "We should get this to the pack," he said finally. "I'd send Jan, he'd be willing to do it, but it could be dangerous. Besides, the pack might be in the Umbra by now..."
He could leave the Caern in the hands of the kin, but it was a bad idea, especially with unknown Garou in the area. He looked at Simeon. "You said you're travelling with kin, are they safe?"

Simeon nodded "As safe as they can be they are Rom. Gypsies." he added by means of explanation. "We are one of the 'great' Rom families, one that has many ties with the Striders. thus there are a few that are direct kin. They should be safe." Or so he hoped, he was the only full garou traveling with the group at the moment, the few others had stopped over in Belgium as they had passed through. But the Rom were resourceful, after all when everyone looked at you with suspicion, you learned to watch out for each other.
"Do you need me for some service?" he asked.

"Would you?" Danny considered it slowly, but he was out of options. "Will you take them the report? You will know them when you see them, they will be two men and a young girl, probably at the University sniffing around where they're not supposed to."
He looked down at the report and started organising things a little. Then he looked back up at Simeon and made eye contact.
"I will show you what they look like..." he said. Suddenly, they were standing outside a University. It wasn't exactly the University the way it looked now, but the way Danny had seen it and remembered it. Outside stood three people: two young men, and a girl. Simeon knew they were Blake, Kaleb, and Anna, exactly the way Danny remembered them.
Then the dream faded and they were back in the library, sitting at the scrubbed wooden table with the police report in Danny's hands. "Be careful out there. I will send Jan to meet with your niece, and tell her where you've gone."

Simeon blink a coupe of times, though he had the same gift, he still found it a bit discerning at times, especially when not prepared for it. Taking the papers from Danny, she carefully folded them up. "I can do that...you didn't happen to pick up what Khristina looked like when you did that?" He asked with a wry smile. If he had would save him from returning the favor. "And yes I would appreciate that...she is 'gifted' and I would hate for something to happen to her."

Danny grinned. "Oh, I don't that'll be necessary. Jan has a gift for finding people based on little evidence. Just tell him where to find her."
He called Jan loudly.
"I will have him bring her back to the Caern, or at least stay with her until you have returned. I offer you protection here at the Caern. As always, there is strength in numbers."
Handing Simeon the reports, he stood up. "Jan, I have a task for you." He said as the young man showed up from behind the bookcases, followed closely by his young nephew.
"Alright, you don't have to shout, we're in a library you know."
"Yeah, sorry about that," Danny said absently, not really sure what he was sorry about. "You're to give Simeon directions to the University. Then I want you to head out to the Carny and find a girl named Khristina. She's Simeon's kin. Got all that?"
Danny hated bossing the boy around, but then he's the one who wanted to help the cause.

Before heading out, Simeon gives Jan a description of Khristina "She may be at the fortune teller's tent. She is learning the art..." and he smiled indulgently. Having done that, and getting the directions, he made his way back out to his bike and headed off.

Eva stood up from the table, catching a look from her son. As Jan waited for directions from Simeon, she gathered her son up and waited for Danny to finish his buisness.
After he left, Eva looked down at her son, then back to Danny. "We have nothing to worry about, do we? He has school in the morning, should I keep him detained?" She spoke in perfect german again, careful to keep her voice low keyed as she asked Danny's opinion.
"What of the sister? If she is gifted, then she might be a valuable commodity to whatever is going on around us." She waited patiently, keeping hold of her son's arm as he tried to wriggle away, to go with Jan. She shook her head disapprovingly to the young boy.

Danny looked between mother and son gravely and shook his head. "We can't stop him from living. No he must go, but there is something we can do to protect him," he too switched back to German. This was for Stefan's benefit, and he should be able to understand it. "Usually it is done at birth, but we should be able to make an exception."
He looked down at the boy and spoke to him like an adult. He placed a hand on his shoulder to get his complete attention. He gave Stefan the impression that this was very important. "It is never too early to start thinking about your future, Stefan, especially one as important as yours. Most children never know they are protected by a Kinfetch Spirit, as it is done at birth. Even in that respect you will be special. Come with me, and we will undertake the Baptism of Fire, a rite most young cubs undergo. Think of it as your first step into our world."
He looked at the boy, giving him time to ask any questions.

Stefan's eyes lit up and he looked at his mom, pulling on her arm excitedly.
"Can I mum, can I? Please say yes, please." Eva looked down at him, and brushed at his dark coloured hair with her right hand, looking Danny over, and then nodding her head in approval.
"I don't see why not. After all this is your family, too. Listen to what he says and do as he tells you." Eva smiled, still talking in german, it was her natural dialect after all. She patted his head and let go of his hand. Stefan started rambling on and on to Danny, asking him random questions about the spirit and the rite, more so about the fire aspect and if there was really going to be fire around them.

Danny smiled at all the questions and led the boy outside. "Not really, you see I will mark you as one of us, and I will place a Spirit by your side to watch over you. I chose tonight because the moon is in the same phase it was when you were born. Don't worry, your mother can watch."
He pointed to the half moon shining above their heads and then looked down at Stefan. "Do you know what moon that is?" he asked him.

Eva listened to her son go on and on about the rite, smiling herself. He always was the quizzical one. Following them, letting Danny and Stefan be a fair distance away from her, just keeping the watchful mother's eye on her son. She crossed her arms over her chest, looking up at the moon, then across the land of the caern, hoping to spot sight of her husband. He'd be proud she reckoned, but he did have his duties, something she very well understood.
Stefan shook his head no, then smiled wide, as if he thought of the anwser. "It's half--half full. Like how I keep my glass of milk most nights." Stefan smiled and kept his gaze on the moon.

"Yes, it is a half-moon," Danny said. "Garou born under it are called Philodoxes. That means you're a lawkeeper and judge of your tribe. You will always need to be fair, and treat your equals and inferiors with respect. That is a great responsibility. But don't worry, when you're grown up and ready to become one, you will know, and so will your Spirit."
Danny stopped talking for a while as he lit a small fire and let it burn for a while. "Now I will summon a tribal Spirit to watch over you. You will not be able to see him, but he'll always be there. And all who are Garou will be able to recognise you as one of them because of it."
He picked Stefan up and sat him on a chair, so that he was sitting in the light of the half moon. For about ten long minutes, Danny chanted something inaudible. The fire was burning beside him, and Danny mixed some of the ashes with his own blood.
Stefan was solemnly quiet; he understood how important this was. Danny touched the mixed ashes to Stefan's eyelids, ears, nose and tongue. Then he shifted to his Lupus form and howled Gaia's greeting, announcing a new Garou's arrival to this world.
Stefan almost felt something hot touch his forehead. He wasn't sure if he'd imagined it or not. But although neither he nor Eva could see it, the Kinfetch's kiss had marked him.
The whole thing took less than half an hour. Danny stood back up and extinguished the fire. He looked pleased with the rite. Apparently it had worked.
Stefan could grow up protected, at least for now.

When the rite was finished, Stefan bounded off the chair and ran for his mom. He turned back to Danny and smiled, thanking him.
"Mom, did you have that done when you were my age? What about dad? It was so cool, there was fire everywhere and it was this big." Stefan spread his arms up as high as he could showing his mom the proof.
Eva smiled, shaking her head, whipping the ash of her sons face. "Thank you, Danny." She chuckled as she grabbed her sons arm again and took him towards the car, Stefan still chatting away.
"If you should need any further help, you know where you can find me." She placed him in the car and turned to adress Danny one last time before she got into the car herself and drove off to her own home.
