The attempts to wake him up help leads Kasiya back to his body. Kamut's ugly yet familiar face seems to guide him back, and he awakes to find the metis attempting to pull his arm out of its socket. It takes a while for the world to right itself and his senses return to their normal functions, but when they do, the first thing he feels is a lot of pain in his shoulder.

Kamut stops his attempts to revive Kasiya hastily "Sorry, I had to try to wake you somehow. The gauntlet is strong... perhaps too much so." He crouches down and looks at Kasiya's shoulder, inexpertly in this case. "I didn't dislocate it did I? I wouldn't know how to put it back."

At waking to pain, Kasiya's first reaction is the animal instinct to snap and bite, but in an unsuitable form and completely disoriented from sensory deprivation it's not something Kamut would have any trouble avoiding.
Once back in his body and fully aware again he cradles his shoulder and supports it while muscles and tendons repair themselves.
"Thank you. The pain... gave me a way back."
He looks again toward the nest of pattern spiders from his seated position.
"You are right. Too strong to do as we did without mistakes. We should either step through or find another way."
Jan Stoltz is Strider Kin and I will not leave him here.
Quiet determination tinges his soft voice.

"We need some other approach then. If you are right, we might be able to discover where the others are by the signs. Perhaps if we find an obscured spot inside the building to enter - a bathroom, or supply closet, we'll be able to listen or smell them out?" Kamut was stretching the range of possibilities though, it looked like a subtle approach was futile and short of smashing their way into the building there isn't a reliable way in.

"The stairs. That's what I was looking for when I got..."
He shudders. It was a horrible thought to be severed from his body. Especially once one knew what happened afterwards.
"We can go up or down to any floor from there?"

"Probably. Alternately we could find an elevator shaft, which will probably have a maintenance ladder, allowing us to climb the building without being in the main corridors. Of course, without being in the main building there's less chance of happening across the others." Decisions, decisions. Kamut waits for Kasiya to make one.

"Stairs."
I won't be at the mercy of some weaver machine.
"We should be able to see them from this side."
Kasiya sets to looking for the umbral imprint of a stairwell in the penumbral webbing.

The rickety and unfinished staircase would probably take them up to the first floor corridor. However, the spiders don't seem to be too eager to let them approach the building without doing something about it.

"It seems the nest has been stirred." Kamut keeps a safe distance for now, counting up the number of them that have taken an interest or are close enough to be a threat. "Do we fight our way in?"

"No. Weavers children only carry out their task. No reason to fight them."
and they'd kill us.
Keeping his distance for now, Kasiya softly calls out in an eerie series of clicks and snaps that shouldn't come out of his Glabro mouth, he attempts reason. It is, after all, part of what he's supposed to do.
"Children of the Weaver. Can any of you speak for your nest?"

Kamut spots two spiders near the desired stairs. There are ten others in various parts of the buildings, but they would need some time to get to the staircase, should they want to. They gormlessly go about their business as usual, paying no more attention to Kasiya than if he were a bag of peas.
Suddenly, Kasiya hears a high-pitched girlish giggle. "They don't usually like conversations," said the voice.

Unhurriedly Kasiya turns to look for their mystery conversationalist. People tended to either fight, or talk. Rarely both.
"Big ones do."
Tempted to continue in Spirit speech, he replies instead using the language he was addressed with.
Only children and lunatics giggle. Be careful.

Only two. They could be defeated, if it's done quickly. "We might be able to break through a small number of them, as long as we keep moving." Kamut looks back curiously at what Kasiya says. "Big ones what?" While listening to the answer he looks back at the spiders. Kamut tries to pick out vulnerabilities, weak points in their structure, so he can destroy them more quickly if he needs to.
((fatal flaw on the two pattern spiders, if I have time for both))

"Spiders are little," said the disembodied voice. "They make webs. They don't like conversations." Kasiya looked around, but could not locate the speaker. She sounded young, and excited, and for some reason, very amused. "Why do you want to go to the stairs?" she asked. "I was listening before," she added apologetically.

Ignoring the Spiders for Kamut's fierce attention, Kasiya continues to look, and to feel, letting intuition play it's part in the picture he makes in his mind.
"We've lost one of our friends. Careless of us. Who are you?"
Dead, alive or spirit. Lost or hunting. Just because you sound like a lost little girl doesn't make you friendly.
A shiver runs down his spine at the thought of all the different kinds of evil that were to be found, even the small cross-section he knew of.
