Claire thought for a moment, "You mean ripples in the water? Sorry another of my faults being obtuse. I should have had Helga write a list then I could just pas it round save you all the bother of having to make your own. Now where was I, yes ripples in the water, means there is something moving under the surface."
There was a gleam of interest in Claire's eyes as she leaned forward, "You think local happenings could be indicating something at work in the shadows?"

" Actually, no, it is far simpler than that I'm afraid. I simply meant.." Maria trailed off and took her most court-fitting voice. " And the pack Waffles fought in thisplace, in the year thatsort, on the day yadayada, against giant caterpillars named harhar" She said in a voice that could easily belong to some announcer in a ren-faire. Execpt for the dadaistic content. " Something like that. I am not much of a detective I'm afraid. I am simply doing my job as a Silver Fang galliard" Maria said sheepishly in her normal voice.

"Just doing my job." Claire said in a deadpan voice, "You know I said that to an Ahroun, it is a Ragabash's job to hold up a mirror so that you may see the truth. And in your case it is saying that not only are you ugly but that you are a jerk."
Claire laughed, "That is when we got into the fight which I think was the last straw for Helga." She regarded Maria though, "I am not taking the mick by the way, it is the Gillard's job to record our actions for future generations, it is important."

"Hi Maria." Yvonne grins as she watches the two bounce jokes back and forth. She shrugs as Maria mentions her heritage. "I couldn't tell you all of it myself, but I'm sure I could find out easily enough if I asked my grandparents." She is from a strong bloodline herself, after all. At Claire's suggestion she speaks up again, "It might be worth looking for a pattern in events, actually. We really need to find out how those Black Spiral Dancers managed to get to this side of the wall without being noticed."

" I see, your ahroun had no sense of humor then" Maria says to Claire and scratches her hair absent mindedly.
" Oh, good, that might be in use when I present the tale to the Caern" Maria said to Yvonne. Then the Fang began to think hard about being a detective. Maybe people would respect her more if she tried. "I...I could try to figure it out, I won't promise anything since I haven't done anything like this before. But I'll try" Maria said to both of the Furies. Of course she had hunted a certain line of family over histories in her master's library, but never had she actually done work like this on field.

Claire giggled, "Humour, she would have had to look the word up in a dictionary and then she would not have got it." Then she nodded at Yvonne's words, "Intelligence on the enemy is always good to have and from what Yvonne has being saying it seems the Spirals know more about you than you do about them."
She paused, "Maria, if you need a hand just let me know. Like most newcomers to a Sept I will be wandering around until I settle in a pack." Claire grinned, "Another one for you. How do you amuse a Fenrir for hours? Write on both sides of a piece of paper, Please turn over."

" The spirals are frighteningly efficent, without the spirit guarding Eyes-of-Light's home, her kin would have been gone" Maria said and looked down. " It's so mysterious, how they managed to get there in the first place" she mused.
" You shouldn't wander too far from Dämmerlicht, we are in need of a ragabash. And I will gladly accept your help, as I am still recovering" Maria said and busrted into a merry laugh at Claire's joke.

"And they found where Anna lived and snuck in during the night while she slept. It's a miracle she's okay." Yvonne half-smiles at the joke, but even with all the Fenrir in the city she still thinks of Anna - their one redeeming member to Yvonne - every time they're mentioned. She nods in agreement with Maria and looks back at Claire. "Yes, I'm sure you could join us if you want to, I know I'll be glad for you to be with us."
((I don't think it's been stated in the thread yet, I'm informed this is happening on the monday a few hours after Danny talks to Dammerlicht about going to Russia - so Maria will have heard about what happened to Anna by now))

Claire looked from one to another and then smiled, "I would be happy to join, I need a pack and one without a Ragabash is like a pub with no drink, no fun at all."
She went serious though, "There are two others in your pack though, might it not be best to ask them as I believe you have no Alpha to make that decision? I do not want to come barging in unless all are happy for me to do so."
Her attention was diverted by their other words, "Sounds like the spirals are using guerrilla type tactics, hit the weakest and run, wear the Sept down by trying to guard everything. Maria your detective work is most defiantly needed."

A heavy set of footsteps approached, and soon enough a large man with long light-brown beard and even longer hair approached the trio. He greeted Yvonne and Maria with a nod and a smile, before settling on Claire.
"You must be Strength-of-Many," he said in greeting. "Elpis' Ardour told me to expect you. I am Walks-with-Death, Athro of the Silent Striders. I am very honoured to welcome more of the noble Black Furies to our Sept. Yvonne has been a great asset."
It was sincere, but then it was quite true. After all she risked her own neck for his the very first day in Berlin.

At the mention of what happened to Anna, Maria growled. If anything was low in her opinion, that was. But she quickly lightened up. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll have a pack meeting soon, after all, the wheelchair and the trip don't arrive by themselves" the galliard joked.
As Danny arrived, however, Maria took a more serious face. She sat there and listened to what Danny had to say.

Claire barely had time to look puzzled at the wheelchair comment before a man entered the room. She came to her feet as he spoke, a mark of respect, she could show it when she had a mind to and this man seemed to be worthy of it from what she had heard.
"I am glad that the Sept thought me worthy of acceptance." Claire inclined her head in respect thinking that her arrival was not the only thing that had been mentioned.

"That's right, we're being sent on a trip to Russia, so I'm sure you'll get to see the others soon when." Yvonne grins at Danny's compliment, though she has no doubt what she had done was under adrenaline alone. If she'd stopped to think for a moment she'd of likely been eaten by the huge bane.

After Danny had said his piece, Maria again opened her mouth, but sounded far more formal now. " And as my name implies, I am in need of a cane. I lost the one I had and now I'm to be transported on a wheelchair" she said. The irony of Max suggesting it of all people would never cease Maria from finding amusement from it.

"The Sept is quite new," Danny explained. "This Caern was only opened a little over a year ago, and not many Septs in the country can spare members. As it is, this place is mostly run by Cliath, a couple of Fostern, an Adren, and myself."
He nodded at the mention of Russia. "If all goes well, you should be ready to leave within a few days," he said. "Hopefully, Max will have contacted the Sept by then." He turned back to Claire. "Where will you be staying while you're here?" he asked. "The Spirals have recently attacked our homes, and it is important we stay together. Our strength is in our numbers now."
