So this was the caern, nice looking place Claire thought as she walked from the bus stop. Her new home, new pack, new future? She stopped moving and looked at it, could bricks and mortar give a clue as to what the people where like inside? Well if they could they where not talking to her today.
She adjusted the backpack and then continued on, nothing gets done by standing at looking at it as her granddad used to say. She rang the bell and waited.

Yvonne is standing nearby in waiting, having been dropped off by her father. She smiles and waves as she sees Claire approaching. "Hey, Claire! Good to see you, how was your trip? Did you get much trouble with the checkpoints?" She might of been a little more reserved before when dealing with the older woman, rank notwithstanding. Claire's state as mother rather than maiden also gave her a certain seniority amongst the tribe. But Danny was so hands-on she's rather more comfortable with those older than her than she had been before.

"Hi Yvonne." Claire turned and smiled in reply, "The bus was fine, reasonably comfortable and on time. Don’t mention the checkpoints though, I am sure that they have to examine your papers for so long just so they can leer at you some more."
She looked around, "So this is the Berlin caern, looks nice." She gave Yvonne a grin, "So tell me what are the packs, the elders like here?"

Yvonne nods, crossing through East Germany was rarely an enjoyable experience, even without leering perverts. She starts walking back towards the Caern as she answers. "Danny... Walks-with-Death-rhya... is the eldest of us, you might of heard of him? He is an Athro. He's nice enough. There's one pack that's been here for a long time, Slagbröder..."
Yvonne hesitates to talk about them, some of them were okay, but enough of them weren't. "They're okay I guess, three of them are Get of Fenris." The following silence, where she doesn't suggest that Claire should keep an open mind rather than expecting stereotypes, speaks volumes. She changes the subject. "But we formed a new pack not long ago, I joined up with three others and we were bound with an avatar of Lion to guide us. We call ourselves Dämmerlicht." She smiles happily on the subject, it's her first pack and she's glad for it.

Claire nodded, "Helga mentioned him, could not quite get a handle on how she thought of him. You know how she had that poker face."
A grin split Claire's face, "Gets how sweet, I just love their open minded friendly ways." She winked at Yvonne, "But your own pack, that is good. So who have you got in the pack?"
Claire seemed interested, which she was, in that respect she was your typical Ragabash. The silence about the other pack had spoken volumes about it and they did sound like a real bundle of fun people. She would cross them of her list of packs to try and join.

"We're all Cliath. There's Adiyah, she's a Theurge and a Fiann. I met her the day I arrived here, we were in battle together within the hour. She's a mother too, she lives here with her husband and son. Then there's Max, our Galliard and a Glass Walker. He's nice, and I think he's a good person." She pauses, Maria had only joined the Sept so much more recently and Yvonne doesn't really know as much about her. "We were last joined by Maria. She's another Galliard and a Silver Fang, but she's a metis as well. She isn't very confident of herself, so we have to make sure to involve her sometimes. I don't really know her that well yet." And she's neither Maiden, Mother or Crone.
"The Black Spiral Dancers attacked Adiyah's home recently, we're still puzzling over how they got past the wall to invade, but we know they found it because one of the ratkin turned traitor. We were lucky everyone survived, Maria lost an eye and Klaus - Adiyah's husband - was badly hurt. Slagbröder did help heal all the wounded." It had been a major redemption for the pack in Yvonne's eyes. Their alpha hadn't given a very good impression but the sacrifice of much of their Gnosis had not gone forgotten.

"So a Ahroun, two Gillards and a Theurge." No Ragabash that was useful to know. Packs where always better when they had all the bases covered as it where. But for now she said nothing although she was beginning to like Yvonne she had no idea about the others.
Although that could soon be rectified, "I would like to meet them, you make them sound like nice people." Claire tilted her head curiously, "No Alpha? Did I miss the bit where you said which of them it was or is it the alpha I am talking too." She smiled as she spoke after all of lot of packs where Ahroun led especially in war times.
"After all it sounds like you are in the wars and who is better to lead than Ahroun's. Although no offence you get sick of Ahroun's, especially Get ones telling you that all the time."

"They are!" She announces, with probably more enthusiasm than is strictly necesarry. "I'm sure they'll like to meet you too. Oh but we haven't really decided who should be alpha yet. We should, I know. I'm not sure if I'm ready to do it though." She shrugs, she'd never joined a pack before and is still new to even being a Cliath. Berlin is her first real test away from the guiding hands of the tribal elders. "I think Adiyah might be a good choice. She's wise, being a Theurge of course, and is responsible."

Claire reached out and hugged Yvonne, "You are really nice and thanks for making me feel welcome." She nodded, "You will know when you are ready to step up to be Alpha. For all what seems the perks it is the hardest job to do, don't envy the one doing it."
She laughed, "Don’t stop me being a Ragabash though and pointing out the uncomfortable truths. What say you, I dump my rucksack inside and we go and find your packmates?"
Yvonne was young that was a fact and inexperienced, but she had a good heart and Claire always thought that was the most important thing.

Yvonne welcomes the hug, nodding to herself in agreement. Alpha is never a position to choose hastily or carelessly, too much rides on it. "Oh! I almost forgot, we've been named by a spirit of Pheonix. It called me Elpis' Ardour." She looks suddenly regretful as she remembers she's been holding Claire up after a long journey. "Yes, of course, come inside. I'm sure you'll want to put your feet up after your journey. Hopefully they'll be around and you can meet them." She shows Claire inside, her mood already swinging back to hopeful and optimistic as she looks around for her packmates.

Par her typical behaviour, Maria is sitting in the main room. What differs from the typical Maria-behaviour is that the Fang isn't just reading something or writing down something. The Fang has now three books, a map and a bigger notebook open and is happily writing down something when Yvonne arrives. Luckily, she does notice her. "Hey, Yvonne" Maria calls out to her packmate, but then she notices Claire. "uh...Hello, I am Yvonne's packmate, Maria Limp-Paw, Cliath Galliard of the Silver Fangs" she introduces herself, this time avoiding her breed name thanks to Hands' talk to her.

"it was not my feet that suffered on the bus." Claire said laughing as she followed Yvonne, "Damm seat had no padding I swear." She gaze around letting her frank interest show. After all this could be her new home for the foreseeable future.
Some one was busy Claire thought as they encountered a woman in what was quite obviously a library. She smiled at the introduction, "I am Claire, Strength of Many, Cliath Ragabash of the Black Fury, pleased to meet you." Claire walked forward and held out her hand, "I have come from the same Sept as Yvonne." She glanced at Yvonne and smiled before returning her gaze to Maria. "But where as Yvonne came I think for the experience, I came to save my Alpha from indigestion."

" I am pleased to meet you, Strenght of Many-yuff" Maria said, standing up and bowing a little at the ragabash. It was clear from her way of standing where Maria's Deed-name came from as her leg shook a bit. The metis quickly sat back down and began cleaning up her surrounding a bit. "I'm sorry for the mess, I was just doing some mapping" Maria said and closed her notebook.
The comment about indigestion did however make the Fang grin. " I have heard some ragabash are hard to swallow, but you must have really been bitter if that was your reason" Maria said and let out a laugh. Then she quickly lifted her arm to protect her head.

Claire laughed, "hey no need to apologise I am the stranger barging into your home. I am the one who should be apologising for disturbing you." She shook her head then at Maria, "Seems I am going to have competition for the one who tells the worst jokes."
She winked at Maria, "Heard this one, how do you make a Fenrir Ahroun burn his ear? Ring his phone whilst he is ironing. But best not get me started otherwise you will get that glazed look my Alpha used to get."
Then she sat and looked down at the map. "Being a nosy bitch but what are you mapping, I mean the bus station has this huge map of Berlin so it is not just streets."

Maria gave Claire a wide grin, and this time she didn't seem at all vary. "I have heard a variation of it, or ten. One of them had the Fenrir have two burned ears, one from answering the iron, one from trying to call the doctor with the same iron" she said and chuckled.
Maria moved a bit to allow Claire room to sit. "Ah, trying to get the whole picture of local happenings. My tribe's storytelling includes a lot of exact details about different things. Of course, in the old days it sounded more grand than now. Now I'm mostly writing down the street names of places I have done quests in" she said and played with her pen a bit. Then she looked at Yvonne. "Don't worry, I won't go asking for your lineage unless you want me to include it"
