The Caern's Warder had greeted the four of them and listened to Cloud-Dancer's quick account of the events. As the others went inside, and stepped sideways for some much-needed rest (and in Erik's case, booze), Danny asked Katrine to stay behind for a while. "Let's take a walk," he said. "And you can tell me what brings you to Berlin, Many Shadows. I promise I won't keep you long."

Not interested in beating around the bushes about it Katrine studied the man before her and let him do the same. Short and lean, wearing a way too big leather jacket spray painted with peach signs and other symbols, the raven black hair when to the middle of her back, it looked messy and she was carrying a bit army bag. Picking up the pace, she began walking beside him. “Katrine Many-Shadows, out of Black Hill sept in Denmark. My Elders found it wise for me learn about the Garou ways outside my own home lands, so that I might find my own path.” She paused to see if Danny had any questions. It had sounded a lot better then she expected, being kicked out on account of being a pain in the butt ragabash, who annoyed the Ahroun sept alpha was the glass half empty version of the story.

He watched her while she spoke, and although she wasn't lying, Katrine got the feeling that the warder could tell what she was hiding. But he did not seem to mind. He smiled.
"Indeed a wise decision," he said. "There is much to learn within the heart of conflict itself. And you are Fenrir so I do not doubt you will hold your own in the many battles to come. You seem to already have impressed Cloud-Dancer."
As they walked, Katrine got a good view of the umbral representation of the library. Not having seen it in the physical world, she couldn't quite tell how different it was. However, the building seemed to be old, much like the rest of the umbral city.
"I have foreseen your arrival," he continued mysteriously. "Owl often gifts his children with prophetic dreams. I dreamed of the Fenrir child who wields the wailing sword, and a great disturbance in the Umbral city. It is a troubling vision. I fear these banes are only the beginning, however."

He wasn’t yelling at her yet and his calm demeanour somehow helped her relax, which she normally had trouble with around strangers or those in higher station. He seemed to understand the conflict of the warriors clear bright path and the new moons path of faith, rather then the knowledge of being right. She manage not to blush too much, at the mention of Cloud-Dancer and what the rhya had apparently said about her, it was not often that people took their time to notice the good work of others and praise them for it. As the Umbra world started showing the library, her sparkling blue eyes took in the fascinating sight. There where not many places not affected by the weaver, seeing the proud old house definitely made and impression on her. As he began to mention what he had seen Katrine frown, but continued to listen till he was done. Her Elders had not been able to pierce the mist surrounding her find of the sword. “Stonetooth mentioned that they had been testing his defence at the wall, perhaps you could explain it to me?” She knew Cloud-Dancer had told him of Stonetooth, but she had yet failed to understand the deeper history behind the wall and it seemed like it was importent

"Yes, they do that every now and then," he said. "We are completely walled in, as you know, and we are surrounded by enemies. The wall, a powerful spirit of the weaver, maintains order by keeping what is out out, and what is in in. In some places, the wall is weak. When I first arrived here, over a year ago, my allies and I charged the Guardians with protecting the weaker places, to keep both banes and Spirals out."
"But we will not have this protection for long. When the fall comes, and it will come, we will all be tested. And you will have your part to play, I am sure. The visions of Owl never lie."

That last part really made the small hair rise on her neck, that there was some bigger plan laid out for her never entered her mind before and the thought that she might screw it up was unpleasant to say the least. Berlin was a warzone, and it was coming to open war soon, that much she was sure of, they way Stonetooth and Danny spoke about it, there was no mistaken. “What do you need for me to do?” He meant for her to stay too, she was needed and it felt nice that someone needed your talents, so she wanted to play her part and do her best to aid this Sept of Owl

"Do what you do best," Danny said. "A New Moon's talents are vital in a war like this. We don't have the numbers, or the higher ground. We don't have the means to call in our allies at a moments' notice, because we are walled in. Raw strength alone will not win this war." He paused and watched the Umbral sun as it rose slowly from the East. "What did you think of the other two Cliath?" he asked. They were new here too, and the older Garou had already fallen into their own packs based on a number of things. There was a good chance the new kids might end up working together. Packs were the way of the Garou.

A faint smile spread on her lips, as Danny spoke about doing what she did best, it was nice to be acknowledge for the things you where good at, rather then the things others wanted you to do. She missed a step at the change of subject and looked down at her feet for a brief moment. “Well we did not get much chance to talk…” She trailed off in mid sentence, fact was that she did not know them well, but he was not expecting her to and brushing it over to make nice would not get anyone very far. “Erik has a lot of pride and I think that it clouds his judgement, he doesn’t play well with others and I think that he is afraid that if he is not on top of everything, the world is going to fall apart. The other one did not say much, I got a feeling that he knows his stuff, but he’s not used to small talk and social life.” Truth, she was concerned for the way Erik behaved and what would happen unless he found a firm leader to respect

He smiled. That was a pretty insightful assessment of both of them. But then there was no better way to get to know a person than to fight at their side. "Pride is a common flaw of many of our young Garou, it seems," he said. "I am afraid you are not far off in your judgment of him. But I do think he will do well with a pack. He seems to be an able warrior." He paused to think of Hands of Mercy, and nodded. "Yes, the metis Fenrir," he said. "He also comes with a prophesy to his name. I have a feeling both your fates are tangled up together, and with this city. I think Erik's is too. It is a strange coincidence that you all arrived on the same day, and I am no great believer in coincidences."
He paused in his walking, and suddenly seemed to realise that it was late, and Katrine was terribly tired. She was still carrying her things. "You may stay at the Caern," he said. "Until you have made other plans, at least. It is a little crowded these days, but I am sure you will find a bed."

It surprised her to learn about Hands of Mercy prophecy, did he knew about it and it nature, if he did it was either not something pleasant or the metis where extremely humble about the very thing would grant him the acceptance that he deserved. Finally the subject came upon a warm bed and she was relieved. “You have my deepest gratitude, getting some sleep sounds really good about now.” Turning the things Danny had said in her head, seeing Erik in a pack was hard, he did not seem to listen to Hands, that much she put together from their report and they way they where around each other and there was not a very good chance to he listen to her either, and last letting him lead would get them all killed before the real battle even began. Yet, she wanted to talk with Hands in private, see what he make of it all, but first she needed a good nights sleep

"Then I won't keep you any longer," he said, starting back towards the building. "Allow me welcome you to Owl's Library, and to Berlin."
They stepped sideways in the Library, where a number of wolves slept near the fire. Danny led her upstairs, where luckily there was one bunk left, and Katrine could get some well-needed sleep.
((Ok we can stop here.))
