Cloud-Dancer stopped when the reached the wall and turned to face the group that was following. She shifted to homid to explain.
"We're too late," she said. "He's crossed over already."
Even with the seven of them, if they were caught out in enemy territory, they might be in serious trouble. They didn't know how strong the enemy was. She was, however, sorely disappointed.
"Damn it," she said.

Vasara looked at the Wall. "Is there any way of letting us know if he crosses over again? Any Rite or anything?" Losing the prey didn't sound acceptable to Vasara "If we cross the Wall, it has to be an all-out assault with everyone and every Pack, or then we need to send small pack of sneaky assassins after Inner-Light."
"Do we have anything we could use as early-warning system here?" Vasara looked at garou around.

Anna snarled angrily when they reached the wall. She shifted to homid.
"We could still go after him," she said. "You don't know he's at the hive. He could be somewhere in the city. We can get to him. There's seven of us."
She wanted to find him. She wanted revenge for Simon, and she wanted her Monkey Puzzle back. But mostly she didn't want to live in fear knowing he was still out there.

"But even then, isn't the East side generally fraught with dangers? I'm not confident that I could travel there without being noticed." He looks up at Cloud-Dancer. "Do you need to track as a wolf?"

Nadya keeps watch over their surroundings while the others. She grins faintly at what Anna said. "That's the spirit kid, we can take them. So exactly how bad is it over the other side?" She has been there even less time than Kamut, after all.

Yvonne supresses a rather rude response to Nadya. Not that she doesn't deserve it, just Yvonne is too nice to say 'go ahead and get killed'. "There are a lot of banes, and however many Spirals there are in the hive."

Saxon studied the wall, "Can you tell if he took his Ratkin mate with him? if not we can at least hunt him down." He glanced at Anna and shook his head, "Good intentions Anna but we just do not know where in the city he is. So a quick in, hit and out is not possible and blundering around will just draw the enemy to us like flies to shit."
He sighed, "Like I have been saying, we know nothing, they know a hell of a lot. Vasara we need to talk to your Rat Lady, I bet that the rats this side talk to the rats that side."

"I can track in any form," Cloud-Dancer said. "And from any side of the gauntlet." She paused and looked at Anna. "But Saxon's right," she said. "We can't be bogged down into a fight on their territory." Then she turned to Vasara. "If they had crossed here, the guardians would have known. And the rats said they didn't use the sewers. They must have connections in the human world, that is the only option left. They didn't cross through the Umbra."

"We've done it before," Anna protested. "We just need to cross the wall and then we can step sideways and track from the other side. We can't let him get away again. He'll just come back!"
And I need to kill him, and get the Monkey Puzzle back.

"Last time we attacked we had enough garou for 3 full packs to save you and the others. Even with all the Spirals we killed, only few of us returned. And some of us who survived were so wounded that they could never fight again." Vasara looked at the Wall, still wondering should they follow. "The only ways to get him is to get everyone from the caern and attack. And if we do that we will be overwhelmed and win or lose, we would risk the caern. And by doing it we might not even get him, we could lose the city without even seeing our target. Better would be to get a small pack of expert hiders to kill him."
"When we kill Crab, we gain control of the only way in and out in umbra. After that we are the ones hunting on their turf. We need to think this as War, not as random battles. Our strength is limited, so we need to focus it for maximal effect." Vasara kept talking to none and everyone.
"We need Edward to check lot's of papers and permits so we can pinpoint the human contact and block their way in."
Vasara nodded at Saxon. "I need to talk to Karin again."

Kamut nods at Cloud-Dancer's answer, seeing how they could do it... but Vasara wasn't going to appreciate him putting any crazy ideas into Anna's head. He keeps quiet, they could try it, but they can't afford to rush and get careless.

Nadya's still paying more attention to the surroundings in case they get spotted by unwanted attention, but she chips in the occasional remark. "So what gets through the checkpoints? Occasional civilians, guards, soldiers, trade? Maybe mister rainbows has legitimate papers to get through."

"If he has them, Edward can take them away or make sure we know when he enters again." Vasara thought out loud. The pencil-neck was useful to have around.
"Tonight we will not cross the border. I need to meet Karin again and I need to try not to kill her. Anna and Yvonne needs to meet Edward, in every ID there is a picture and knowing what the Spiral looks like can help him to check the travellers across the border."
Vasara looked at Anna "You have dropped this. We will discuss on respecting and taking care of the fetishes later." Vasara pulled out amber necklace and showed it to Anna before putting it back.

At first Anna was shocked to the see the Monkey Puzzle, then she was angry that he hadn't told her about it yet, and frustrated that he was implying there had been anything she could've done to prevent losing it. But finally, she just felt relieved that it hadn't fallen into the hands of the Spirals. At this point, she felt she could face anything he threw at her if it meant getting it back. She gave a nod. "We'll talk to Edward," she said, confident that if there was anything that could be done legally, then he could do it. She looked at Yvonne. "Tomorrow?"

Cloud-Dancer glanced at Kamut. He was good at being unseen. Together they might stand a chance of hunting this Inner-Light without getting caught. But they needed to plan this better.
"Let's head back to the Library," she said. "If comes back, we will find him. We won't waste time next time."
She shifted to Lupus and started to lead the way back.
