Kamut was not having a good time of this, and pretty much everything seems to be going to hell. If he lives through this, he'll make Vasara stop and think next time. For now, he just wants to get rid of the acid-coated beast before it dissolves his entire head off, so Kamut tosses him away towards Vasara's charge.

Vasara never got close enough to rip the man to shreds, even though Kamut tossed him his way.
With a roar of rage Anna ripped the pages of the book to shreds. Suddenly everything went eerily quiet. Then a hot searing pain ripped through the five Garou. The man in front of Vasara disintigrated in front of their eyes. Blood started to pour from their eyes and ears. For the stronger Garou, the pain merely sent them to their knees in anguish, but for Anna and Kamut, already severely injured, it was too much. They collapsed, and for the first time in their lives, they felt what it was like to die.
The rage that they had been building up all through the battle finally found its release in death, and it pushed Anna awake. With a snarl, she found herself back in the forest. The book that had killed her was still there, and the desire to destroy it. However, she registered that the others were not enemies. They didn't need to die. Just the book.
Kamut also felt the rage nudge him back, but it did so more quietly. He lay there on the ground, unconscious, but alive thanks to Luna's gift.
Vasara and Nadya take 3 levels of aggravated damage. Nadya is forced to spent will do avoid frenzy. Adran takes 4 levels of aggravated damage. Anna and Kamut take 5 levels of aggravated and die. Kamut: Final frenzy heals 2. Is incapacitated. Anna: Final frenzy heals 3. Is in a berserk frenzy.
Combat resolved (Anna had more gnosis than rage and won't attack her pack) Final Status (Damage in Aggravated) Vasara: 4 Nadya: 6 Kamut: 7 (incapacitated) Saxon: 7 (incapacitated) Anna: 6 Adran: 4
ST Note: And I expected character deaths. You really swung things around the second half of the fight. All the credit goes to Luke. If you want to know what you were fighting, ask him. Maybe he'll tell you And thanks also to Seph for STing the teal bits. Hope you enjoyed it.

Vasara stood up. "What the hell happened..." he tried to understand but realised he just was not equipped for it. That was something he had not even heard about before. He looked around again and tried to see if anyone was dead. Everyone except Saxon seemed to be breathing, Saxon himself was nowhere to be seen. "Great Bear, please aid your children. We are victorious but severily wounded." Vasara whispered into the wind to get a contact to their Pack Totem.
He looked at Anna and approached her slowly moving in between of her and Adran. "Anna. Calm down. Battle is over."
((Now that is what I call tough engagement. On asking what that was: Some things are better to be left unknown imho until uncovered by characters.))

Adran stood back up clutching his belly. He spat blood from his mouth and growled out, "I'll go back and get your friend." He limped off back in the direction that he had taken earlier to get Saxon out of there. Occasionally vomiting blood along the way, he picked up Saxon again and carried him back to the pack.
Laying Saxon gently on the ground and wiping the blood from his lips, he told Vasara, "I'm Adran, Cilath Galliard of the Children of Gaia. Who might you be?"
Adran took a seat against a tree and rested himself as he waited for Vasara to speak.

The weight seems to have lifted from Nadya's body, and she stands up straight with a grunt as all her joints and muscles settle back where they should be. With the pain of her injuries still held at bay by Fenris' gifts, she hardly looks like she almost died. "Dumb humans." She growls in German, before looking around to take stock of the situation and look for any more hostiles.

The only hostile around seemed to be Anna, but even she seemed to snap out of her frenzy at the sound of Vasara's authoritative voice. The visions vanished, and No-Eyes vanished with them. All that was left was the forest clearing, the torn shreds of the book, and the terrible pain in both her back and her heart. Unable to stay on her feet, she collapsed again next to the shredded pages.
And the book started to reform. In the darkness, it was suddenly the only thing moving as the others stared at it in horror. It returned to its fully formed shape, and lay there innocently in the grass.

Anna rubbed her chest, unsure of where the pain was coming from, and winced. "We have to destroy it, somehow," she said. "The book is evil."
She then looked up and saw the bloody and limp forms of Saxon and Kamut. "Are they still alive?" she asked.

Vasara looked at the book in disbelief. This was going seriously over Vasara's head. He looked at Anna "We will destroy it. Are you ok?"
"Nadezhda, help Saxon. I try to heal Kamut." Vasara pressed his hand on Kamut's chest and closed his eye to focus on healing. Damn the boy had looked ugly. "Anna, could you bring my Brew back to me? I think I will need it to heal Kamut."
"I am Judgment-From-The-Skies. Fostern of Fenrir." he finally answered to Adran. "You look like shit." he added, in his oh so friendly tone as he looked at the blood coming out from Adran's mouth. "You carried one of us to safety." Vasara looked at Anna. "We owe him at least the healing. Could you heal him?" Vasara looked at his hands. They seemed to be shaking. That was weird.

Nadezhda gives another look around. "Area looks clear." She barks, switching to the Mother's tongue now. "We should track down those humans that were here, they've seen too much. They might have vehicles out there to get back to a city." She makes her way over to Saxon and checks him over, reverting to her human form. She'd be pretty, if she wasn't splattered with blood and talking about hunting humans down like prey. She wipes the worst of the blood off her face so she can see clearly, before taking the spirit brew from her belt and taking a drink of it. As she feels the energy of the brew invigorate her spirit, she channels it into Saxon to heal his injuries.

"It is kind of you to do so." Adran replied, "One of my ancestors guided me to help your friend out of here. I can see that if he had remained here, he would've died."
He looked at the book with an apprehensive eye and asked Anna, "What did you see within that book? If you don't wish to talk about it it's fine by me, but if you could enlighten us about it, it would be nice as we could ward ourselves from it." After standing up again, he looked at Vasara and said, "If you wish Judgment-From-The-Skies-rhya, I can ask my ancestors about what to do with the book. Say, do any of you want that longsword on the ground there?"

With Kamut so distant from Luna compared to the others, Vasara easily channels his essence into the burned, bloody body and heals the worst of his wounds. Though Kamut's face is still burned and blistered, the worst of his internal scarring is healed by Vasara's sacrifice and the migraine leaves him quickly. Nadya does her best to heal Saxon's serious wounds, and she does at least bring him back to the conscious world though he still looks worse for wear. Saxon sits up with a groan. "Everyone okay?"
Vasara heals five levels of agg on kamut, 2 left (-1 penalty) and the brain hemmorhage is healed Nadya heals three levels of agg on Saxon, 4 left (-2 penalty) Both are out of Gnosis

Anna shifted to homid and retrieved the brew. "Yeah I'm ok," she said. She tried to stand but it was a little difficult. She let the rage push her legs instead, and hobbled over to Vasara to hand him the brew. She collapsed again as soon as she reached him.
"Give me a minute though," she said to Adran. "I can't really focus right now. I'll heal you though, don't worry. Thanks for helping Saxon." She didn't really want to answer his question. She didn't even want to think about it. "Some things... some things are just better left unknown. Like the things in that book. Don't read it. Don't even open it."

Kamut coughs and wheezes, spitting out blood as he comes 'round. He looks around quickly, trying to work out what happened, before settling on Vasara. "Thank you." He frowns, this is a bad time to criticise Vasara's decisions so he holds his tongue for now, instead looking around at the others. "Who needs healing the most?" He looks from Nadya to Anna, it's hard to miss the state they are in, even if Nadya is able to resist it.

"What the hell is that?" Vasara walked closer to the book and looked it as he emptied the Brew to replenish his spiritual force. He was very reluctant on touching book. "We need to get everyone standing and ready to fight. We still have the Hounds to kill. One can stay here to prepare for Rite of Cleansing, rest of us needs to get going. One of enemies vanished in thin air, and some of them escaped by foot. We need to cover our tracks."
Vasara looked at longsword. It was... well, long. Not easy to hide, definitely draws attention. "I don't want it. Unless we should bend it around that book so no-one would not accidently open it and start reading it as bedtime story before we find a way to destroy it."
"Thanks for the offer." Vasara said to Adran. "We need to find out what that is but we are kind of middle of something here. We can talk all we want on safe area. Now we need to act."

Anna watched Vasara shake, no doubt an after-effect of the lightning that hit him.
"I have to heal you," she told him. "If I don't do it now, you can never fully recover." She pointed to his shaking hands. "I think the shock might have damaged your spine," she said. "But I can heal it."
She dragged herself to her feet, and tried to focus on healing. It was difficult, and without Bear's guidance, she was sure she would just have failed miserably.
(Mother's Touch on Vasara + Extra Gnosis to heal battle scar - if Vasara doesn't give an order otherwise)
