These questions have been asked more than once, by players old and new. I thought I'd compile them here and stop people bothering me.
(Will add more when I get asked more things.)
1. Are you accepting new Characters?
Yes, although it's a good idea to PM me first and discuss the concept.
2. Can you give me an idea on the setting?
RaB is set in 1989, a good few months before the fall of the Berlin wall, in West Berlin.
3. Does that mean I'll need to write in German?
No. The game is run in English. The characters will be speaking German, so your character should know it at least.
4. How many Garou are there in the city?
As of my last count, there are 25Garou loyal to Gaia in the city.
5. Are there any auspices/breeds/tribes that are not allowed?
Yes, see the Character Creation rules.
6. Can I play some other type of were-changer?
The only other Fera that currently are acceptable are Ratkin. Contact me and we'll figure something out.
7. Can I play a prechanged cub?
I usually reserve cubs and prechanged humans for new players unfamiliar with Werewolf or the WoD system. Cubs start with no gifts and they must be homid. Additionally, they cannot choose their own tribe or their backgrounds, I will choose them for them as part of the plot-oriented first change which will be played out in game. If you're an experienced player, you're probably better off playing a regular character.
8. Can I bring in my character from a Tabletop game or another forum game?
Again, no. All characters must be starter characters. The concept must be created to fit the game.
9. I have seen that some people have been on the board for over a year and even gained rank. Doesn't this unbalance the game?
Yes.
10. Is that fair?
Yes. These players have been around since the game started and have earnt their XP. I won't belittle their achievements by giving others extra starting points.
On the other hand, if you really impress me I might grant a few extra points for a well-written background.
Besides, the Garou nation consists of people of all ranks. Deal with it.
11. When do you give out XP and Renown?
Whenever I feel you deserve it.
12. Who are the Berlin Meanies?
The Berlin Meanies are like my own personal policemen. They are here to keep the players in check. More importantly, they are there to keep me in check if I forget myself. They are there to be mean and tell you off because I know I won't do it myself.
13. Do you have any house rules?
Yes, they're in the rules section: here.
14. So what's the situation in Berlin?
The Gaians hold the West Side, the Spirals hold the East. It's escalating into a full out war especially after the Gaians raided the hive to rescue their cubs. It is by no means safe.
15. Are there any packs in the city?
There are three packs in the city now. A fourth is forming.
16. Are they recruiting?
You can determine that IC when you meet their respective Alphas.
17. Can new packs form?
No, 4 is more than enough.
18. Do I need to make my own rolls in combat?
No. In a combat situation, or any situation requiring a roll, you will declare your actions and the ST will resolve it. You will have to accept the ST's resolution on that, no matter what. (Unless there's some sort of misunderstanding of course.)
Don't worry, I might be a mean bitch, but I'm the same mean bitch with everyone on the board. I'll be fair.
19. How can I get myself banned from Berlin?
That's not easy. Breaking the Code of Conduct repeatedly will usually get you a talking to from me or my meanies. However, if you really insist on it you might end up kicked.
Another easy way to get banned is to poison my cheese.
20. How can I get my character killed?
It's easy to die in Berlin if you get cocky or stupid. Remember that. Intentionally killing off your character to start a new one will only make me overly strict about the new one. However, people who have had their characters killed by me for other reasons usually have some leniency with their new characters.
Bottom line: If you like your character, just be careful.
21. Why isn't my character on the cast list?
Due to the fact that a lot of players join and quit in their first week, players will only be put on the list once they have accumulated at least 25 posts in total and completed their introduction.
