Jess found herself locked in the gaze of the other Garou, and stands unable to act or move.
((Just carry on. Unless someone hits me I can't do anything after all.))

(Read the gift description.)
"Let me know where the book is, and you can take your friends and leave," he said. "Your girl running away just put a time limit on this deal. Ten seconds."
The door quickly openened and a man ushered Emelie inside. "I've called the police, they should be here soon," he said. "Is anyone else still inside?"

Not a totally great actress, but then how hard was it to act all out of breath and slightly panicked. "Nodding she gasped out. MY three friends, I think one of them is..." she didn't have to think she knew, " There are two of them, I think they are stoned are something...they are armed...." She let herself get ushered into the house, while cranning her head to see if the others would run out as well, it was bound to get very messy fast when the police showed up.

"Stay here," the man said. "The police should be here soon. Do they have guns?"
He was brave enough to open the door and call the cops, and maybe interfere if he stood a chance. But he wasn't brave enough to face down men with guns if he was unarmed.
Em could hear police cars and sirens, some belonging to the fire brigade as well. But to her disappointment, the others didn't follow her lead and run out of the house. Something must have stopped them.
(The others have opted out. It's all you Em. Time to save the world.)

Em shook her head, wondering what the hell? But then given the fact they had chosen to not follow her lead the first time... Maybe she cold get help from the caern? Slip sideways and run like hell in the umbra. Looking about she made sure her host was not watching her, and to see if there were any mirrors about to use.
((If I can will step sides ways and go for help))

The man let Em wander off, obviously believing her to be distraught. He kept watching the street in hopes to catch a glimpse of someone else escaping the hostage situation. When the cops arrived, he headed for the front door.
Em found it easy to find a bathroom and slip into the Umbra with the help of the reflective surface.
Once on the other side, Em started to make her way back to the Caern. She hadn't made it far when she heard the familiar cry of her totem spirit. Merlin looked smaller and weaker than he had the last time she saw him. Then he had almost seemed to grow as she joined the pack. Now he looked at her sadly, with tired eyes. "It is just you left now," he said.

It was hard to not want to give the spirit a hug, pull it in and cuddle it, but now wasn't teh time. "Perhaps not...if we can get help. I can't let Jona's death be for naught....I need to get to the caern..." She was biting on her lower lip as she got her bearings, she didn't expect the totem to help, after all it wasn't it's job, but she felt a need to reassure it, and herself. She wasn't going to let Merlin down....or what was left of her pack...if anything was left.
Picking up her pace a bit she also stayed alert, something was afoot this night and she didn't want any surprises.

But Merlin kept talking, stopping her from making her way to the Caern.
"It is up to you now," he said. "You have to stop them. You have to save this city. Because if you don't, the end will begin here."
And now Merlin wasn't the only bird there. A large white Owl, the same one who had appeared during the moot rite, and a small dove were both at Merlin's side. They both watched her, waiting for her reaction as the fate of the city rested on her shoulders.

Em froze as is a bucket of cold water had been tossed on her. Turning she looked at the two totems and slowly nodded. So be it. "What would you have me do?" it was a simple question for obviously they had a plan and rather than waste more time with questions...she needed to do what they wanted and accept what ever fate came her way.

"My brood is weakened," the owl said. "But we still watch the forest; we have always watched the forest."
The spirits started to lead her towards the forest. The owl continued to speak as they went. It was a long walk, and Em lost track of time after a while. As she continued to follow her totem spirit, she started to realise she was in a part of the city she had never seen before. It was a grim shadow of the city. It looked like it had been destroyed, its buildings razed to the ground. Even the trees looked charred and dead.
And a man approached Em and the three birds. He seemed to be very old and yet young and strong at the same time. He wore a uniform that seemed to bear the markings of every single army or organisation she could think of. The more she stared at it, the more she made out.
"The servants of the Wyrm gather in my forest," he said. "They grow in number and they are cunning. They know the city's greatest weakness. They know the hearts and minds of men, corrupted by the Beast of War. One small push, and history will repeat itself. This time, it will be devastating."
"Soon your friends will be fighting a battle that they cannot win," he continued. "They know this. But they will make their last stand. You must bring the book. It is the focus of their ritual. It lies on a charred and broken tree, in the centre of the conflict. Bring it to me, and I will unweave it."

Her training with the native tribes had taught her to never question the will of the spirits. So it was with a nod and a determined gleam in her eye that she replied. "Tell me where I must go, and I will get the book for you." There was no question of trying she would do it, or die trying. Either way she was bound to the will and whim of the spirits and she would put her faith in their hands.

"First, return to the place where your pack was lost," said the spirit. "In their haste, the Wyrm's spawn have ignored the power of the sword. Bring it back to its bearer, bound in the forest. Then bring the bearer and the book to me."
It seemed like an impossibly difficult task for just one person, but the spirit seemed to be sure that Emelie was going to do it.
"We will go with you," said the two bird spirits in unison.

Em nodded as she slipped out of the house and into the darkened yard. A relatively easy task given the current distractions going on. Using the natural shaows of the night, she worked her way across the street and to the neighboring garage once more. True to what the spirits said, the others were gone, but the sword was left there lying. Looking about for a rug, or anything to wrap it in she settled for what looked to be an old tarp. No need to go running about with a sword on hand. Spirits or not, it could be enough to delay her of the police picked her up.
Once the sword was wrapped and secured, she slipped back out of the garage and looked to her two 'new' companions. "Now...where are the others?" She figured they already knew since they were expecting her to find Katrine and the rest.
