"This is Wrong. Let me call out."
With a shudder, Kasiya finds himself in his birth form, seeking familiarity in the midst of horrible change. Looking around in concern, Kasiya bites back panic and raises his muzzle to let out a Howl that reverberates with the language of the Spirits, a Wail of Forboding.
((Wail of Forboding, Spirit Speech, Spirit Network to call on any Gaian spirits that may still be alert and in the area.))

Her blue eyes wandered in disbelieve, as the umbral landscape appeared to them, it was not the fire and it had nothing to do with it at all, something else was doing this and it was sending a creepy, cold sensation up her spine. It did not help that the theurge was equally shaken up, reverted into his birth form. She forced herself not to panic and began changing into Lupus as well. “What could cause this? This should not be possible this close to the caern” And then it hit home. “Do you know where the caern center is hidden?” If they ran in the umbra, nothing should get in their way

(So is Kasiya trying to howl in Spirit Speech? )
Kasiya howled, knowing that the brood spirits would understand the language of Garou if not that of wolves. After about a minute, a spirit did respond. It was the spirit of a pretty Cheshire cat. It seemed reluctant to approach at first, but finally summoned up enough courage to trot up to the two Garou and even rub against Katrine's leg.
"Have you seen Jess?" it asked. "She was here and then she wasn't. The Caern was here and then it wasn't. The guardian was here and..."
But they got the idea by now.

"Let us see what our friend knows..."
Careful not to spook the Cheshire Cat, Kasiya stands stock still, only moving his head enough to keep it in line of sight. He addresses it in its own language:
"Well done. You were brave to come. We will try and find Jess for you, but first we need to know where this started. Do you know?"
In truth he didn't have great hope of answers, a spirit that communicated in such a human manner should be more lucid, and it seemed to be suffering the effects of this natural disaster more than they were.
((OOC: Is the heart of the Caern in the Library itself? I always assumed it was, and that it was common knowlege.))

((Yes, it is.))
The cat looked puzzled, in a very catlike way. It observed Kasiya for a while, and then looked at Katrine. "Where what started?" it asked. "I have to go find Jess. She needs me."

"Why don't you try the Heart of the Caern? If you see any of the Garou who live here can you tell them there are fires in the woods? Our home is at risk."
Kasiya takes the effort to shift back to Glabro. He could vocalise the spirits language well enough in Lupus because it was a gift, but quick discussion needed better vocal chords.
"Neither of us knows how this is happening. If we go hunting for the source now we waste time. We don't even know what to look for. Carsten will know."
Kasiya's absolute faith in the Elder Theurge stems not just from the fact that he's an Elder Theurge but also from his recent actions ripping the unwelcome wraith out of him.
"We should put out the fire, then find the Elder?"

Putting out the fire? Her grey wolf head tilted to the side. Right now he was getting on her nerve and she could not speak the spirit tongue and therefore did not understand what he asked, but if the Caern itself was attacked, which was a brilliant move on the enemy’s part, Carsten was likely already death or in big trouble, this was not about having faith in people, it was about being realistic, no Theurge would allow a Caern to be violated, as long as they were still standing. They were not a pack, none of them was the alpha and right now that was the problem. “I go back with Cat, fires human, human fire folks deal with it, Caern under attack.” The Caern was the bigger prize here, without it they would be very shrewd and regardless of the outcome with the bane, this blow would send them to their knees. The fire department would be called by mortals, if the smoke was that thick and black, others would have seen it

Of course, Kasiya didn't know the first thing about Firemen or Fire Engines. He'd never had the need to.
The Caern was the whole of its two parts, the forest and Library as essential as the spirit world. But they could do only one thing at a time, and Kasiya was content to let Katrine make some decisions, it was all part of his new approach to life. Not a lone wolf anymore. He would never have left his partner in their patrol. He had only been offering options.
"Alright. Heart of the Caern's in the Library. Let's go."
Flowing into Lupus, Kasiya runs. Cat would have to fend for itself or follow along.

It didn't take the two too long to get back to the Caern. They hadn't strayed too far from their post after all, and were still pretty close. They reached the library just in time to see the umbral forest light up as if someone had set off a stream of green fireworks. The few spirits that were in the general area fled, some screaming in agony. It was hard to make out exactly what it was, but Katrine and Kasiya realised with a bit of a shock, if they hadn't moved, they would have been caught in some of it.

Seeing the plight of the Caern spirits brings a pang of anguish to Kasiya. As much as the pain of the physical forest does, if not moreso for the fact that the spirits could scream their pain.
But the fireworks do not give him pause, he lives in the now, and right now, he had no time for what-ifs. Kasiya looks around the Umbral Library to see if he can gauge any of the effects of the current spiritual malaise
He does, however, then look to Katrine briefly to see if she plans to stay here and investigate or cross over.

Kasiya could tell that most of the spirits seemed to have seen the blast coming somehow, although Kasiya himself could not see what caused it. But whatever it was was hard to investigate from here. He would have to get closer if he wanted to get a better look.

Exiting the Library in the Material world through the door in his Glabro form, Kasiya feels glad not to feel he had to do everything himself and take one small part of the greater effort. True, he was sacrificing self-determination, but he was gaining a place in the Sept to make up for the loss. Plus, the enormity of Carstens task makes him feel small and insignificant.
Pausing a second he looks out into the blazing forest, surveying the state of the fires and looking especially for the worrisome green flame.
He picks his direction based on what he knows of where Konstantin and Simeon had been patrolling, the sounds emanating from the forest, and any concentrations of fire. They would be trying to stem the flames as he had wanted to. Then he sets out into the forest, keeping as quiet and unseen as a decent pace would allow.
((Silence again, or is it still active?))

Kasiya tried to get to Konstantin and Simeon's original patrol area, but it was rather difficult. The fire had grown and spread since during that time, and Kasiya couldn't get close enough without burnt. He did manage to stay fairly quiet. Apart from the crackling of the fire, he could also hear the sound of something large and not-so-stealthy approach. It didn't even seem to be trying to keep quiet. In fact, the word 'stampeding' would have come to mind, if he knew it.)

Well, he wasn't about to take on something that made that much noise without the use of his war forms.
Kasiya ducks into whatever cover's available and stays very small and still and quiet, barely peeping out to get a look at whatever invader's making all this noise.
