"Welcome, both of you," Danny repeated. "Two Theurges... I wonder if that's a sign. And one a Strider... this city has a way of tying down even us."
He looked at the cub, who had remained quiet until now. "And you must our veil-breacher," he said, recognising the wolf from the tape. "So they named you Martin..."
He let Yvonne go after Anna. She would probably know what to do more than he did anyway. He turned to the two Theurges. "This is Ilya, he is a bear-changer," he explained. "Bear also watches over our Caern, and the local pack. But we will share stories later, there will be time for that. Now, tell me what you have seen, and how you found Anna and Simeon. And what has become of Tapio's Bearcubs?"

Kasiya blows air through his nose, unused to public speaking.
"I came..."
He gives up, the language of wolves being inadequate. He takes his slight human form, remaining seated with an arm draped over Martin for comfort. Whose comfort? Probably a bit of both.
"I came here following my road. Across the wall I found the restless whom it is my duty to aid. They let me from harm and to the cubs where they were held by our tainted cousins. I spoke to Anna and Summoned Tapio who led me to Kamenwati, Judgment-from-the-skies and his pack. Together we travelled to the building on the hill where the cubs were held. The pack assaulted the tainted Garou as a diversion while Kamenwati and I broke into the cell and killed the guard. More Tainted Garou came, so did Adiyah and Yvonne. We killed the other tainted Garou and escaped. Here we stand. The pack follow our steps."
His words are tempered by great fatigue, robbed of eloquence by the weight of the days events.

Adi watches Kasyiah as he speaks, eyes still half on the larger man. She had a scratch, but wasn't sure if she would be comfortable with a stranger tending to it. It would heal, Martin was the one who needed attention anyhow.
She listened politely, knowing how tired he sounded. She had no doubt though he had escaped physical hurt, the day had been taxing. She wished she was home now, to curl up in bed and just sleep. When he finished she cleared her throat and spoke.
"I moved here from the United States just two days ago now with my husband and son. I had just begun to seek out signs of others when I heard the call to fight. I headed for it through the umbra, to see if I could help, where I met Yvonne and the other .......Sparrow. We heard another call for help and were in the process of answering when I heard cries from beneth this building, Yvonne and I stayed back and found a way into a cell where we met the others. The rest is as Kasiyah said."
She looked straight on at the Warder, speaking quietly. "I believe in signs, very little in this world is a mystery if you interpret things correctly. Perhaps you are right."

Simeon was glad when the journey was finally over, perhaps now he could get new cloths and rest, but not necessarily in that order. He nodded to Danny, the fact that he too had been surprised by the Warders sudden appearance only emphasized to him how mentally tired he was. His senses were not as sharp as they should be.
The Appearance of Ilya did make him look twice. Gaia he was a big man! He had never seen and one so tall and so big, he was reminded of the Kodiak bears he had seen pictures of. Though he seemed nice enough and friendly. "I am well thanks to Anna here." As he gave the girl a warm look of thanks. "What I desire is a bath, clean cloths and rest. It has been a very trying time."

Danny nodded at Simeon. "I think you all have earnt it," he said, although he had wanted to hear Simeon's story too, and how he and Anna had gotten separated. But that could wait. "Then I owe you an explanation of what you have walked into," he said once again to Kasiya and Adiyah. "This city is not yet entirely ours," he said. "The East Side of the wall is dominated by the servants of the Wyrm. We have held this Caern for a year now. A week ago or longer, one of our kin brought a veil breach to our attention. Our search for Martin here led to Simeon and Anna's disappearance." He was aware that he had left out a lot of details, but there were more urgent matters at hand. For starters, they needed a rest, especially Simeon who looked like he hadn't slept in days. And besides, he wanted to scan the Umbra for Vasara and his pack, they were late enough now for him to start to worry.

Martin shrank back at being addressed directly by the winged man. Somehow he managed to find the courage to speak, even though he still eyed the bear-man warily. "Martin is not me," he said, not speaking to Danny directly, but rather to Adiyah and Kasiya. "It's what they called me in the big clean place. What is a veil-breacher?"

Still close to the Cub, Kasiya explains as briefly as possible.
"We have laws, like rules in a pack. The Veil is one. We do not let humans know we exist. You are a veil-breacher because a human discovered you. Don't worry, as a Cub you are forgiven such things as long as you learn from it."
You have no name? then I shall call you Cub.
Playing to the shared affinity of their birth, Kasiya decides to remain with the Cub.
"Rhya, we all need rest. Is there a place the Cub and I can bed down."
In Strider sign he forms words in hand and finger movements, small and subtle:
"I need to talk to you alone soon."

"Well met, all of you." Ilya says, bowing his head in humble greeting. There would be time for proper introductions later.
Frowning at Anna's departure, more out of confusion than anger, he shrugs his over-sized shoulders. She had been through a lot since last he had seen her, and it was showing in her actions.
He approaches the small wolf Anna had pointed-out before leaving, crouching beside the cub so as not to appear too intimidating.
"Worry not, little one," He says, a friendly smile on his face as he lays a hand on the cub's fur, "Mother Bear, and myself, will take care of you."
With that, he tends to the wolf's wounds as best he can.
When he is done, he stands, turning to face the winged Strider.
"Danny," He says, "These events are indeed dire. It is odd that Vasara and his pack have not arrived as yet. Unless you have any objections, I will begin a search for Tapio's chosen, while the others recuperate."
He prepares to leave the Caern, concerned for the welfare of the other Garou.

"Not Martin...........what are you called then, Cub?" She wondered aloud. What Danny said caused her worry. She'd known Berlin wasn't the safest place in the world, but being reminded of it was unsettling all over again.
She looked to Ilya as he said he was going to head back out. She was certaian the big bear of a man could handle himself, but still. "I'm not badly hurt, if you would like company, I can go."
She shrugged, the cubs were safe now, but she felt the cards had led her here, and she wanted to help.

Martin tensed and moved even closer to Kasiya, but he let the Bear-Changer lick his wounds. It helped a little, but like Anna, only some of damage healed. It was all very strange and new, but all he really wanted to settle down somewhere and sleep, and he was very thankful when Kasiya suggested it.
2 Damage healed. 2 Gnosis left.

"Yes, upstairs is a room for just that," Danny said, talking to Kasiya first. "But you two might be more comfortable by the hearth. I am afraid the city has no better resting place for wolves." He nodded at Kasiya, indicating he understood. They would talk later.
Then he considered Ilya and Adiyah's suggestion. "It might be wise to take a look," he agreed. "But do not cross the wall in the Umbra, whatever you do. Scan the area, and--" now he looked at Adiyah, "--howl for them if you must. But do not venture to the East Side again tonight. If we do not find them, then we will organise a search. In the meantime, I will take a look from above. Simeon--" he looked at the Galliard. "--I will leave things in your hands till we return. Make sure the girls are ok too."
Before they took off, he signed to Kasiya: We will talk when I return.

Done talking, Kasiya reverts to his Lupus form. "Come. We'll cross the gauntlet together. Bed down while we can." You won't like sleeping in the den of a man thing any more than I, but fire is one thing they got right.Once Martin is ready, Kasiya exerts his sense of self once more against the gauntlet, weaker here than out in the city he feels the faintest of brushes against his face before passing through into the material world. >>Stepping sideways<<

Simeon nodded wordlessly to Danny. "I will see to it Rhya." giving a half bow as he did so. Following the others he shifted back to the 'real' world and out of the Umbra.

A search of this side of the city reveals no sign of the missing pack members. There is no response to their howls, and even Danny's bird's eye view does not help. Eventually, they must either cross over or return to the Caern to plan their next move.

Adiyah slowly headed back towards the caern, obviously sick with worry now. They had said they were fine, and she knew they'd done the right thing bringing the cubs back, but now she was more worried something had happened to the others.
She looked for Danny to see if he was following.
