"Good."
Kasiya was pleased, she was living now, learning to ignore all that stupid Human conditioning that she had been raised with.
He flows into his birth form and leads downstairs.

--Later--
Danny left the newcomers downstairs with Saxon and went in search of Micah, hoping to find him awake. He knew Micah would have a hard time sleeping in a cooped up place like this, but he had lost a lot of blood and he didn't want to move him just yet. Tomorrow, they could take him back to the forest to be looked after by his kin.
"Are you up?" he said quietly, not wanting to wake him if he wasn't. "We need to talk."

Micah had heard his sire come. He shifted, wincing as his arm twitched. He looked at the offending appendage and momentarily considered gnawing it off. Course, in that nearly human form, it would be difficult. Probably hurt less...there was damage done to...nerves? Whatever that meant...other than pain. PAIN...lots of it...in waves.
He looked over at his sire and stared, fighting the urge to squirm away from his arm. "k...up, kinda." He didn't move...in fact his lack of moving was probably odd, almost like he was practicing for a statue. "How is the pack? The cub?"

"I thought you'd have a hard time getting sleep in here," Danny said. "The cub's... as good as can be expected after all this. And the pack will be fine. Vasara and Kaleb haven't returned, but I have sent someone out to get them. I am not too worried. They are more than capable." He had still been standing in the doorway, but now he moved inside and closed the door. "Saxon carried you back, I'm not sure if you remember it all," he said.
"I am not an expert, but Ilya took a look at your front leg. It doesn't look good. If it had been healed on the spot, you might have been able to regain use of it. But as things look now..."
He knew Micah would hate the thought of being lame. He was a wolf, and to him, lame meant useless. His days of running with the pack were over, but Danny didn't stop there. "I want you here with me. I need a guardian. The Caern needs a Guardian. You can't run with the Bear-cubs now, but you can still fight. You can still protect the Caern. What do you say?"

Micah felt a growl before he actually caught on that he was doing it. Lame...useless...
What of his mate? She'd leave, go and find a new mate, a healthy pack. A healthy mate, not a useless wolf who can't hunt. His eye's closed as his snout went up, howling in both rage and sadness. He didn't do that for long...it hurt his arm to much. As a test though, he tried moving it ...to test if it would work.
Pain shot through him like liquid fire, making him writhe. Panting and feeling exhausted, he stopped, looking up at the walls, then finally resting on his sire. He felt like snapping...out at anything...anyone. But...there was need for him still. Guardian. He blinked, pulling back in the rage and hurt, though his abused body still felt both weakened and throbbing agony. "My mate will need to be moved...here...or close. Cubs coming...need to hunt for her somehow."
He closed his eyes. "I will be guardian...not going to give up. Eric would smack me..." He smirked, something he'd learned from his human mate. Then it occurred to him. "Gaia help me, I'm stuck in monkey form."

Danny shook his head. "She and the cubs are better off in the forest," he said. "This is no place for wolves. "We will make sure the cubs are safe. We will offer them all the protection we can, but the Caern must be our priority. It will good to have you by my side, Micah. Especially in the war to come. Try not to move too much, and get some rest. I need you back on your feet soon."

Micah didn't like it...loosing another mate so soon. But Danny was right. "Fine...your right. She knows you...be wary, she's been in a mood. Close to that time I think...dunno. First time." He lay back, then gave his father a single raised eyebrow look.
"Rest...here...it stinks. I'd be better if ya dragged me out in the yard. Grass is tall enough to cover me." He smirked. "Feet...yuk. Maybe I'll just stay like this...I miss my fur." He used his good arm to scratch at his chest.

Kamut climbs the stairs, finishing the toast quickly then tapping on the door he can hear Danny's voice coming from.

"We'll take you home as soon as it's safe enough to move you," Danny said reassuringly. "I'll come back and check on you later, I think I'm needed elsewhere. I hope Caitlin hasn't tried to hit the Ahroun and gotten herself killed..."
He walked back to the door and opened it, and looked a little surprised to see Kamut. He closed the door behind him. They were now standing in the hall. "Is everything ok?" he asked.

Kamut steps back as Danny comes through. "I'm not sure. A woman called, she didn't introduce herself although she had many things to say about you. She claims to be in posession of another Garou and wants to hand her over at a place called Ragnarok, soon."

"A woman?" Danny looked surprised. "That doesn't say much. What did she have to say about me?"
Danny frowned as he tried to think of who it might be. Up until recently, there hadn't been any women Garou in the city, except Anna, and she was more of a kid really.
"Did she say anything else?" he asked. "Like who that Garou was?" After all, you don't exactly get to 'own' Garou. Danny could only think of one person who would be possessive enough to think she owned anyone. But he didn't want to jump to conclusions.

Kamut thinks better of giving the entire story. "She said something about an 'owl-loving rat-killer' and changed the subject when I suggested she talk to you. She claims the Garou in question is a Philodox of the Shadow Lords." He hesitates a moment, not exactly sure how serious Karin was about the doggie kibble. "There was a definite impression of urgency, she suggested she would take drastic and violent action if someone didn't arrive within fifteen minutes."

"Karin," Danny said with a nod. "And if I'm right, then she's probably telling the truth. And I'd better not go myself." He leaned against the closed door and thought it through. "I'd send Kaleb, he's the one she usually gets on with the best. Well he's the only one of us she hasn't tried to kill yet..." This probably wasn't helping at all. Danny sighed. He couldn't send any of them. Saxon was injured and the others didn't know the city. "Alright, I'll send you. I'll have one of the kin drive you," he said. "Don't worry about Karin, she talks tough but she's easily put in place. Just make sure she knows you're not easily pushed around. If this is a tribesman of yours, then it'll be a good idea if they meet you first. It's out in the open so I don't expect an ambush. But take Martin with you anyway."
Danny was quite aware that he came off bossy when he was making plans and tended to ignore other people's opinions. Well, he was aware of it because Kaleb constantly pointed it out. "I mean, you're ok with that, right?" he added hastily.

"Of course, I'd be glad to. The other two downstairs don't seem about to come to blows, it looks like they'll get on just fine." Of course, the prospect of having to stand up to someone isn't an ideal future, but some things just had to be done. "I will go as soon as you can arrange transport." He takes a step back, about to head downstairs, but stops as something else occurs to him. "Is Martin as inexperienced as he seems?"
