"Then you must find them a home," Lion replied. "Your task will be complete when they are safe. Do what you must to achieve this end."

Maria bowed again deeply to the lion, she had all ready spent most of his kindness to this idle chatter. She bowed to each of her packmates again, and shifter to her lupus form and ran to search where this white fortress might be.

When Maria was gone, Lion turned once again to Max, Yvonne, and Adiyah. They had changed. They could feel their pack bond, and they could almost feel each other.
"Man has turned the land into a hostile place for the wild," Lion said. "There is no honour in watching the weak suffer and doing nothing. Even the smallest creatures feel pain and torment. Remember this, my children, for it is as important as the war you fight."

Without hesitation Yvonne nods in agreement. "Some try to make the land less hostile, though. I give up what time I can learning to care for animals that have been hurt. I may not make a great difference, but I do what I can when the war does not demand all my attention."

Danny and Kasiya had been waiting in silence, a little way off from the new pack. When Lion finished speaking, he stepped forward to conclude the rite.
"Now your strength is united, and it will be stronger even when Maria Limp-Paw returns," he said. He bowed his head respectfully to the great Lion. Somehow he found it fitting that this fledgling pack had chosen a totem of honour. "This Sept will remember your deeds," he said. "And will speak the name of your pack with pride."
Lion stood with his pack and listened to the Silent Strider's words. "For as long as they are chosen with courage and honour."
And with those final words, Lion left the pack standing in the umbra. Although he was gone, the three members of the newly formed pack could feel his presence within them, and in each other.
With the rite concluded, the group started to make their way back to the Caern.
(This is pretty much wrapped up unless someone has anything to add.)

Max smiled at his two packmates. It was good to be part of a whole again. It really did wonders to give him direction, and he only just realised how lost he had been without it. It was amazing how much he actually thought like a wolf without even realising it.
"If the Sept is to speak our name, then we ought to have one," he said to the Ritemasters. "If my packmates accept, I choose Dämmerlicht, as Phoenix dubbed us children of neither night nor day, and as our Theurge's guiding light has always been a beacon for us in darkness."
He turned to look at Yvonne and Adiyah to see what they thought of this.

Yvonne returns to Danny with the others, smiling proudly. At Max's suggestion she nods in agreement."I like it. That sounds good to me." She falls silent for a moment, looking at the floor thoughtfully, then looks back up."Danny... I need to talk to you. She walks closer, standing so Danny is between her and Kasiya, then she lowers her voice."I know it's been a while, but there never seemed to be the moment and this needs saying. When we went to the hive to... collect the skulls. Kasiya tried to take charge, using the litany to try to get his way, but he had no right to do it as he had no right to claim leadership like that."She pauses, twice Kasiya had held them up to argue and waste time, time they really didn't have to waste."He was very difficult when I confronted him... both there and when he stalled while we were trying to escape in the sewers... and I think it's pretty obvious he thinks he's above his peers and I don't think he understands what he did wrong. I might just end up driving him further away from us all if I try to get through to him. So I was hoping you would talk to him about it, since I'm sure he'll respect your opinion more than mine."She looks down, perhaps a little sadly at the way Kasiya had placed himself above all of them so readily. She doesn't really want there to be conflict, but his ego is going to lead to it if something isn't done.(dibs on calling on Lion's -1 difficulty to persuade superiors first and persuasion, and pure breed, and all that not that she's lying, but seeming pleasant and trustworthy can go a long way)

She smiled as Lion stood beside them and felt th e rush of confidence and the bond of her pack. It was a proud moment. When Maria joined them it would only strengthen. At the name, Adiyah grinned. "I think our galliard has come up with a rather appropriate name for us all. May we help bring honor and hope to this caern."
She moved to walk beside Max as Yvonne went to speak with Danny. The Theurge eyed her packmate curiously a moment as she couldn't hear the subject being discussed. She shrugged and turned her attention to her other packmate. "Nicely done."

Danny seemed quite open to the criticism of his tribemate, and to Yvonne's informal address. However, this was probably just his nature, rather than Yvonne's persuasive power, no matter how good it was.
"It was I who asked him to lead you," Danny said. "To guide you to the place he had been to before, to find the pack. It might have been an unwise decision, made because I trusted him based on the fact that we share a tribe. If he failed to be a good leader, I can only blame myself for the bad judgment."
After all, Kasiya was no leader. He had said so himself.
"But I will talk to him," he added. "And try to understand what happened that day. Issues should not remain unresolved. How did he use the litany?"

"You told him to guide us? Well, that I can understand. But he has no right to claim leadership on the spur of the moment and act like the litany backs up his arrogance just so he can have his way." It was rapidly becoming apparent that it had been a misunderstanding that Kasiya had taken as an excuse to take misplaced authority. She looks back at Adiyah and signals her over. "Adiyah was there too." Yvonne pauses to think over what had happened. "He just came out, in the middle of our approach to the chapel, and said 'I am leader, you will do as I say, the litany supports me.' - or something like that - when he had no prior claim to leadership and no grounds to even be a leader. I'm not sure which worries me more, the fact he thought he had a claim to leadership when none of us knew of any such thing, or that he felt the need to stop and argue a perfectly valid decision when we were deep in enemy territory. It's fortunate the circumstances changed and I had to support Vasara, I don't know what would of happened if I'd been forced to correct him." She looks at Adiyah. "Does that sound right?"

The theurge caught Yvonne's signal and moved to be with her packmate. Adiyah listened and quickly caught the gist of the problem being discussed. She'd almost forgotten, truth be told, things happened so fast, but if it still bothered Yvonne it was important enough. For the most part she agreed, and nodded to Danny. She kept her tone low and private to match the volume of the conversation.
"She speaks true. The timing and manner in which he did were rather poor and didn't give me a good feeling that he knew at all how to proceed. He was very blunt and assuming. This is war and I lead I think was what he said. If someone wants to be a leader they start out by making some good descisions and ideas. You don't just get to wear the leader's hat and expect to be followed. Without earning it, and without any knowledge of what or why, he expected us to accept it. Also, making that claim in the middle of a battle and pushing the word litany were not very compelling." She shrugged slightly, obviously trying to find a way to make it sound not quite as bad. They had all been new to the area then, and in the hive things were heated, stressful. "He lacks tact, it is no doubt in small part for being lupine born, but some of it is just arrogance."

Hearing his name mentioned, Kasiya stands and shakes himself, then sits back down and scratches behind his ear before unashamedly trotting over to join the three Garou discussing him.
He deigns to make a noise about doing it, which is an exception from the norm for Kasiya. He doesn't sneak amoung friends, and the warning's a common courtesy.
Once at Danny's side, he sits again and listens interestedly, looking from one to the next. Not a great believer in subterfuge this one.

Danny listened to both their accounts with a thoughtful look on his face.
"I understand your concerns," he said. "It was a difficult time, and organisation was badly handled. That was my fault, when faced with mostly strange Garou and a cub, I made a quick decision. We are lucky that things went without much incident. I will speak with him."
It was hard to pass judgment since he hadn't been there. But Yvonne and Adiyah both seemed quite sincere with their approach. Danny thought for a while, and then looked over to Kasiya, who seemed to be listening. He was no mediator, but he could at least let Kasiya have his say. "What do you say to this?" he asked.

Max was quite out of the loop, so when the girls approached Danny, he lagged behind and tried not to eavesdrop. This really didn't concern him, and it had happened before he had even met them. So he just watched in silence.

Starting to make a response in Wolf, he stops and takes the time to shift to Homid. Less comfortable, yet infinitely more able to express himself, he begins again.
"This has been brought to you for judgment, Mephi-Walks-with-Death-Rhya. I am sorry that it has come to this."
Fact of the matter was, Kasiya had forgotten it, so much had passed since. Looking at Yvonne he feels sad that she hadn't been able to let it go and move on.
"But it is in your hands now and I bow to your decision. I am not skilled with words to persuade you, so I offer you abolute truth instead."
He'd had a moderately clever idea, and hoped it could put his case better than he could.
"As you did at Anna's Rite of Passage, please enter my mind. Go back and see the raid through my eyes, feel what I felt, know what I knew. Then pass your judgment on the matter."
He knows that his own memories can beter portray the events at the hive. Better show his unwilling acceptance of the task of leadership from Danny, better show the simple facts of the moment, that if Yvonne had wanted to challenge his leadership she would only have had to say before they crossed the wall. She could have had it. Once across the wall they were at war, and in no place for the leader to change, and that was the part of the Litany that had backed him. 'The leader shall not be challenged in time of war'. The hive had been no place for a petulant girl to decide she didn't want to follow orders and do her own thing regardless of her abilities. His memory could show how Kamenwati, Anna and Adiyah had been following orders well, had played their part well.
It would, in short, put his point better than his words ever could. Because Kasiya, with or without arrogance, didn't believe he'd done anything wrong. Then again, he could have a few choice words with the Fury about arrogance and intolerance. They were as bad as one another, she was just better at making it look good.
