His own woes aside, Kasiya's raison d'etre comes to the fore, and he stops pacing to stand in front of Anton.
"I'm sorry to hear that. How did it happen?"
Much as he might want to protest his innocence, he might do better by proving his commitment to helping the restless find the peace that Anton considered beyond him.

Anton raised his eyebrows as Kasiya dismissed his apparent crimes. "The other prisoners took issue with me, I'm still not sure why. I don't think they meant to kill me, but..." Another shrug. "It got out of hand."

This is different. The children had motives and drives a world apart from adults, simpler, more needy in general. No-one had ever told them they had to tend their own needs. Usually.
"I'm sorry to hear that. What do you feel holds you here? Was your death never given justice? Was your work undone? Did you need to pass a message to a loved one? Is there anything I can do to help?"
Kasiya might have his own problems right now, but poor Anton had been stuck in the cells for ten times longer than Kasiya had been alive. It meant something that the man have a chance to find release.

"I guess I just want to be forgiven for my crimes." He sighed, without the usual associated rush of air, and looked down. "I didn't mean to do... what I did. Everyone thinks I did it on purpose, though, since I never made it to court to plead my case." Even Kasiya was able to see the shame Anton felt over his actions. Anton looked up suddenly as the door clicked and Detective Feldmann returned. His younger associate was also with him, along with a woman in her thirties. "Mister Richter, would you please sit down."

"Give it thought, Anton. Who would you wish to know, and who you would wish forgiveness from. Whatever you did in life, you have served fifty years of pennance. It may be that your time to move on has come. I will help you if I can."
Turning at the sound of the door opening, Kasiya realises that he's probably been heard talking to himself. He shrugs. Already thought to be a murderer, it's hardly a great stigma to be seen to be deranged.
"Of course, Detective."
Before he sits, Kasiya takes a moment to look the woman over. Not really able to tell much from her expression or other human qualities, he still endeavours to learn what he can from her build and posture. And of course, the presence of Taint.

"I..." For a few seconds Anton looked off blankly. "It's been a long time, many of those involved have probably passed on themselves. I suppose the only people left who I really care about are the family of the person I hurt." The woman was smartly dressed like the two detectives, and was quite tall and heavy-set. Like the others Kasiya could detect no sign of taint upon her. The three of them sat opposite Kasiya, with Detective Feldmann taking the middle seat directly in front of Kasiya again. The detective spoke out loud to the room, checking his wristwatch. "Interview resumed at twelve twenty. So Mister Richter, you were telling me about how you brought human remains from East Berlin to West Berlin, and about the woman that you claim murdered the children." The younger detective didn't seem especially interested, but the woman was watching Kasiya closely.

Having stated his ability to see the dead already, Kasiya has no second thoughts about continuing to converse with Anton in front of the three officers. Not that he'd ever tried to hide his abilities especially before. The Veil didn't cover seeing the dead, just being Garou.
"Then we shall find them and I will help you make your case. What awaits you after is up to you. How do you think I ended up in here? It's what I do."
Perhaps now you see why I am here?
Then, looking Detective Feldmann in the eye, Kasiya nods his head.
"Yes. I did."
Nuance seemed to be lost upon him.

Anton smiled, somewhat sadly, at Kasiya's offer. "But I can't leave this place, I can only tell you who they are." There was a momentary pause while the three humans watched him patiently before Feldmann continued. "Then would you please continue and tell us more on the matter? I'm sure you don't want to spend longer than is necesarry here."

There's always a way, Anton.
Shaking his head:
"Sorry. I told you. I can't tell you. You don't deserve to die like that."
Quite what the detective expected to have changed in the few moments he'd been gone, Kasiya didn't know.

Anton takes Kasiya's lack of response as prompting for him to continue. "And even if I told you, that would kind of require you getting out of here. You're going to prison, or a nuthouse, there's nothing you can do to help me. On the bright side, at least you might be able to get out some day." Feldmann merely nods before continuing. "What is it that you believe will kill us if we were to investigate this woman?"

Kasiya merely shakes his head. That avenue had been well enough travelled. Detective Feldmann seemed to like to ask the same questions a lot.
"Anton. I'll be leaving soon. You ought to tell me who they are and what happened."

Anton snorted derisively at that unlikely event, but humoured Kasiya anyway. "I don't know who they are, I only know... Janina." He swallowed, suddenly uncomfortable even talking about it. "I killed her, my sweet Janina, I admit that, but I didn't mean to! I never meant to hurt her!" His voices raised as he got defensive, years of living with it having taken it's toll. He took a deep breath and tried to calm down and fight back tears, shaking with the effort. "Janina Frei, it's her family that have lived fifty years thinking that I wanted to do that. I don't know if her parents are still alive, but she had a brother and sister." Feldmann glanced briefly at the woman to his right and shook his head before turning to face Kasiya. "By refusing to answer these questions you are not only aiding a mass murderer, but aiding whoever it is that has compromised border security, these are serious crimes. Is that clear?"

One shouting ghost has a hell of a lot more impact on Kasiya than three stupid humans, so
"Anton. I will find them if I can, and I will tell them you're sorry. That you never meant to do it."
Switching between two conversations is taking it's toll, and Kasiya only really gets the last part of Detective Feldmann's ultimatum.
He shakes his head at the Detective.
"No, not really."

"Well, I thank you for trying, but..." Anton shrugged hopelessly, still unable to see what Kasiya could possibly do from a cell. "Please try to concentrate on what I'm saying, Mister Richter." Feldmann paused to consider then tried to explain again. "By hiding her from us, you are helping a murderer escape justice, this is a very serious crime. The law will treat you no more gently than it will treat her when she is caught. Is that clear?"
(Anton wasn't actually shouting, just raising his voice)

Sitting back, Kasiya takes a long look at Detective Feldmann, weighing him up. Weighing his soul. His face hardens as he contemplates telling him where the Hive was. Letting the police trudge up the long hill toward certain death. The black Spiral Dancers kept the Veil. They'd kill every one of them. It would cause them problems, they'd never explain away so many deaths. A horrible thought crosses Kasiya's mind before he banishes it:
Only Humans. Plenty more where they came from.
The hard look passes from his face and he looks down, shaking his head. Death was just another beginning, and he'd be responsible for a lot of tortured souls.
"I told you. It's not her I'm protecting."
The woman hadn't said anything, yet must be there for a reason. Kasiya looks up at her and meets her eye. He might be able to derail the detectives yet.
"Hello. What's your name?"
