Saxon followed them into the Umbra and shifted to his large muscular Lupus form as well. A clear bright half-moon hung in the otherwise empty Umbral sky. Empty except for the large red star, that is.
Status Check: Everyone is on full gnosis and rage. Saxon and Kamut are on full willpower. Nadya is on 5 willpower. Anna is on 3 willpower. Vasara (I assume) is back on full willpower thanks to strength of purpose.
Equipment (besides the clothes on your backs): Anna, Kamut and Saxon have their brews dedicated. Vasara has his knife(?). Nadya has nothing
Let's go!

Vasara looked around at the Pack and made sure everyone was around and ready. He looked at Kamut and gave him a 'go ahead' gesture. He took his position and looked at Saxon "Stay a little behind. This way if we run into ambush, at least two members would be clear to help." he looked at Kamut now too. "The scout often is allowed to pass the ambush to lure the main body to meatgrinder. When we have our ahroun walking a bit behind, you both can start working on solving the ambush from your own sides as Anna, Nadya and me would have to survive until the circle of enemies would be broken." Vasara shifted into lupus.
"Let's go. Don't get killed."
(ooc: Vasara too can have 1 brew with him, and Nadya can have one too. They are basically talens created by specific Rite (that can't create any other talen) so they should not count against the Gnosis limit of the Talisman Dedication)
(ooc 2: yeah, clothes and the heavy knife are mundane items Vasara has dedicated on him)

Kamut trots ahead to a reasonable scouting distance, before dropping slightly lower and pricking up his ears - his sharpest sense, without the ability to smell. Once working alone, he becomes increasingly harder to notice and focus on, seemingly nothing more than a blur.

Anna waited for Kamut to disappear from sight before she started to move.
"This way," she barked. Now in her Lupus form, she led the pack through the route that she and Kamut had mapped out earlier. While they had been planning, she had also kept an ear out on Commands-the-Tides' and Vasara's conversation. For once there was a ranking Theurge around, even if he was only a Fostern. It was something she needed to take advantage of.

The pack headed out, reaching the Checkpoint quickly and crossing into enemy territory. The further they got from the wall, the more tense they became. Every bane was a possible informant, every delay was a more time for the Spirals to catch wind of their intrusion. And so they moved quickly, following Anna's route northwards towards the forest where she had met the warwolf.
They met no resistance. When they reached the forest, Anna found she could remember the place quite vividly. The tree where she had found the Owl, and the cave where she had met the warwolf, they were all exactly where she left them a week ago.

Anna stopped near the cave and shifted to homid. She wondered if the Warwolf still remembered that she had fought by his side. There couldn't be many cubs who came up here asking for Fenris' blessing, so she figured he must.
She knew the warwolf spoke their tongue. Both he and the Valkyrie had during her rite of passage. But Commands-the-Tides had said to address the spirits in their own tongue, out of respect.
Anna stood at the entrance to the cave and called out. "Great Warwolf of Fenris," she said. "I am Anna Ashtree, Cliath Daughter of Fenris, and I bring my pack Alpha, Judgment-of-the-Skies, Fostern Son of Fenris, and my pack Slagbröder, children of Bear. We seek your aid."
She looked at Vasara, and added quietly. "We should make the offering now," she said. She secretly hoped Vasara wouldn't decide to cut her up, but she shifted to Glabro just in case. If the whole pack offered their flesh and blood, she would too.

Vasara looked around and shifted into homid. He pulled out his heavy blade and thought about the situation. Saxon and Kamut... Not Fenrir, but Fenris was not picky on blood. Nadezhda and Anna... Would the Warwolf want everyones blood? Blood of every auspice? Would he want everyone to bleed, or just one?
Cut off his hand? At least in legends that worked. Give the Warwolf his heart's blood? How the hell could he know... There was probably not too much time, so he made a call. "Talk to him. Heal me only if he accepts, or declines AND leaves while I am still alive." Vasara said grimly. Vasara closed his eye and put the point of his blade at the lower part of his ribcase. He steeled himself and pushed the blade inside his chest.
He just hoped he would stay standing long enough to hear the decision, or even see the Warwolf himself.
"My heart's blood for you, Great Wolf!"
If the Warwolf would find them worthy, he might survive, if not, this probably was it.
(ooc: definitely use Will here, I can't see anyone doing that without spending Will, stay in homid and fight away frenzy if such thing tries to come)

Nadya watches Vasara's offering without much apparent reaction, but even she can't help but be a little suprised by the magnitude of the act. She keeps her mouth shut, times to mouth off sarcastically do not include this moment.

Drawn out by the smell of blood and the call for aid, the warwolf emerged from his cave approached the pack. His pure white coat seemed to gleam in the moonlight as he made his way towards them. He stopped in front of Anna. "Welcome back, Godi of Fenris," he replied in the language of the spirits. The short acknowledgement gave Vasara some more time to gush blood from his bleeding heart, and he felt his strength leave him as he struggled to breathe through the pain. But the warwolf turned to him next. "I accept your offering, Son of Fenris," he said. "Tell me what grieves you."
(Vasara takes 5 levels of lethal damage. Gains a point of rage above his limit (now 6), and is forced to spend willpower to resist frenzy.)

Vasara's vision was blurring and he was sure he could feel each one of his heartbeat like a hammer striking at his chest. He didn't even remember when the last time had been for him to feel the Wolf inside him to roar in such Rage. Vasara tried to answer the Warwolf but managed to get out just a gurgle and a mouthful of his own blood. By sheer power of will he kept himself under control, Rage was a good servant but terrible master.
He was not sure was the offering accepted in a way that he could shapeshift but he risked it and shifted into crinos. He didn't raise his eye to meet the Warwolf, even with his terribly bad knowledge of spirits, he did know thing or two about his Tribe's history, and knew how easily you could turn a talk into a challenge when working with Fenris. "We are preparing to hunt down a great Bane to block Wyrms way to our territory." he started in Mother's tongue "Killing the Bane would leave the Gates wide open and we wished to find new Gatekeeper before the Hunt, someone strong and pure to hold the Wyrm at bay and if such spirit would degree us worthy, even join us in the battle."
Vasara pulled the knife out carefully. "Anna Ashtree remembered you as such a mighty spirit. We came here to seek you."
(ooc: use that extra Rage to shift into crinos and yup, use Will to resist frenzy)

The warwolf took a small step back and, although they weren't sure if this wasn't just their imagination, appeared to grow in size. "Your call to war is a noble and glorious one," he said. Though they couldn't possibly read the warwolf's expression, it was obviously the call to battle had managed to rouse him. "But how can I leave my territory unguarded when banes still threaten to overrun it by the day."

Anna almost gasped when Vasara's stabbed his own heart. She hadn't been expecting that. She wanted to move to steady him, but she knew he wouldn't appreciate that now when he was trying to stand on his own for the warwolf. She suppressed a sigh of relief when he finally healed himself and spoke.
"Then we will not leave your domain unguarded," Anna offered. "We will ask the spirits to watch over it while you are gone. And we will kill whatever remains of the banes before we leave."
She looked up at Vasara, who was still covered in blood but at least was no longer bleeding everywhere, and then she looked at the warwolf and hoped he would accept.

Vasara looked at Anna "I agree." Then he braved a look at the Warwolf "Walls built by men can't stand forever. It will fall, even if it might take years. We can ask spirits to guard your den for the time the Wall stands and Gate needs to be guarded. We can hunt together and secure the surroundings, we can cleanse the area to make it painful for Wyrm to approach." Vasara said. He himself would not be much of a use on most of those things, but he definitely could Hunt and at least could participate as aide on other things. The hammering inside his chest was turning into something more bearable, but he still focused on healing. In his mind came a cold thought about how likely his death just had been. But war don't need one garou, having such an important spirit on their side outweighted everything else.
"We can turn the Banes we find into warning to others telling them not to approach if they want to stay in existence."

The warwolf stood silently for a long time while he considered this offer, and the pack waited. They could hear nothing but the sounds of their own breaths and their own hammering heartbeats. Finally, the warwolf broke the silence.
"You have moved me to battle, Judgment-from-the-Skies," he said. "A pack of hounds plagues this otherwise pure land. Hunt them down and destroy them in their lair once and for all. Return to me with a spirit willing to watch the place while I am gone. Then I will join your war."

Nadya smirks, all the talk and placation and offering had been of little interest. Planning the kill, and executing it, now that got her interest. "We'll hunt them down one by one and tear them apart. None will escape."
