Jona laughed at Zachary's suggestion. "Sure you will, rich boy," he said. "Don't worry about me. I have my pack at my back. Not to mention I could probably kick your ass across the curb, Ahroun or not. Also, I'm not your elder. Jona will do."
He seemed pretty sure of that as he stopped to watch the gaffling hop onto Emelie's shoulder. "Still here?" he said with a grin. He looked at Emelie and Jess. "So what do you reckon, is he leading us to spirit or the weapon itself?"

The grin Em gave him, might have disturbed some, but maybe not Jona. It was the look of one who was about to go on a grand adventure to find a great secret, as a follower of Merlin, Jona was sure to understand it. It was the eager look of a fellow seeker of hidden knowledge. Shrugging as she grin "I don't know...but we will find out soon enough won't we?"
She stoked the birds feathery head as she spoke to it. "When this is done, I will find a riddle for you. you have been most kind."

As they walk back towards the gaffling, Hands of Mercy draws and readies his bow, placing an arrow to the string before shifting to lupus for the journey. He's somewhat wary of the tension between Jona and Born form a Dark Wish, but doesn't step into their bickering. Inside, he's pretty excited to be on the quest as well, but outwardly he is focussed and alert.

Jess meets Jona and Emelie's gazes with a grin of her own. They were getting closer to reaching their goal, and even the hangers-on that Danny had insisted on them bringing can't more than dent her enthusiasm. It'd probably still take years for the City Father to fully recover, but the destruction of this bane is an important step on the road.
"I think it's taking us to another spirit." She answers Jona. "At least that's what it said - that this Hragnwhatsit knows a lot." Then she turns to Em, still speaking in German. "Save the riddles for now. We're gonna need something to offer the spirit we're meeting."

Although Zachary was in a generally good mood, no Garou, let alone a pure bred Ahroun, could ignore being deliberately taunted. He felt the rage rise in his throat, and with extreme difficulty, he managed to bite it back and keep from losing his mind to it.
(Zachary is forced to spend will to avoid frenzy. Yes, that is how easily a high-rage Garou can lose it.)

((will spent))
Zachary stared at Jona. " Quit that all ready, I have offered my food to you, I have helped you with the rite and after that asked a elder about the fetish and now I am offering my whole being for you to command, ask me to kill a bane, I will do it. Ask me to take the brunt of the attack, I will do it. I may be from a well do family, but I am still a warrior, and I ask for your respect" he said, biting the rage down hard. It wasn't just what Jona had said, but also the Gnawer's illusion that somehow Zachary was only a fop and nothing more.

Simeon made a soft sigh, it was already proving interesting. Though he knew he had agreed to follow under Jona's banner for now he still growled out "Save the posturing for later, beat the shit out of each other for all I care, but right now we need to get on, work together." As he spoke he pointed to the ground as if to emphasize the point. "There is a bane to kill, that comes first."
Then without another word, he shifted down to Lupus, it would be easier to follow the gaffling on four legs rather than two. he just hoped his words would shake the rest into action and less talk. There was a time for both and now was a time for action, not verbal fencing and insults. He gave his fur a shake as he paced a few feet to the front, to take th point if needed and where his speed would pay off if needed.

Jona laughed at Zachary's response, but let it drop, mostly because Simeon was right. He had to wonder how an Ahroun could grow up to be such a pussy though. But then having money did that to people.
"Yeah Jess is right," he said. "We need to think about chiminage. What do we offer an ancient spirit that's been hoarding a secret like this for so long?"

Jess cocks her head at Zachary's odd response, then shrugs as Jona changes the subject. She'd been about to step in herself to get Jona to lay off the guy they were supposed to be working with, but getting him to drop the matter was the best she could hope for, she knew. With a bit of luck the path would be guarded and the two of them could burn through some of their testosterone and hopefully distrust with a good scrap.
"Shiny things?" She offers as an immediate answer to Jona. It was her default response in the situation, to be fair. They seemed to impress the gaffling, after all. "Or... more secrets? Maybe some roadkill..."

Em didn't feel like being the mood killer, after all despite the almost altercation, spirits were high. But someone had and with all the talk about a chiminage...
"Based on what Hands of Mercy has already told us, we already have the chiminage, as long as someone is willing to pay it." She looked at them all with serious eyes before looking back at her pack leader. "It will be someone's life."

Jona had to admit he liked having Emelie in the pack. She seemed to have a different take on things than he and Jess did.
"I'm not sure of that," he said. "Sounds like Fenrir melodrama to me... no offense of course. And even if the standard is cursed, it doesn't mean the Raven will just give it to us because we're brave enough to use it." He shrugged, but didn't seem too bothered by the ominous curse. It was probably just an old wives' tale. "I like the road kill idea," he said. "Or we could offer to do something, like free its kin from human shackles. Break into an aviary and set the birds free. At least that sounds like fun. We should do that anyway, and bring road kill."

Simeon whined softly. War packs jumped in with too little talk and it seemed wisdom packs talked to much. He had given up his own mission to come and help here, and so far it was all talk, besides, he needed to move, he heard what the blond had said, and it was a bone he wanted to gnaw on as they moved.

His rage now in sonewhat control, Zachary speaks up. " I don't know how you do it in your tribe, but I agree with Emelie, it is a sacrifice of life that is serves as the payment for fetish so strong" he said, then looked at Simeon.
Following the strider's example, Zachary shifted into his lupus form and sniffed the air.

Jess frowns at Emelie. "That was for using the thing, not asking it questions. We don't know that fetish's the weapon we're supposed to be after. You wanna go offering it your life before it's even made any demands, you're not gonna be much use to anyone very long." She looks to Jona. "Let's find something to offer it first."

Jona looked around at the impatient ones and frowned. He had to agree with Jess on this. He looked at Zachary. "I don't know how your tribe does it, but when going to talk to an ancient and powerful spirit and ask him to reveal the secret of an equally ancient and powerful weapon, we don't show up empty-handed and demand it. If this legend of the banner is accurate, and it is cursed, that itself has nothing to do with the offering we are going to make the spirit. So unless you have a good idea of what to offer, I suggest you let the adults discuss the important part."
He turned back to Jess. "Can we offer it a secret in return for another?" he asked. "Teach it a gift, or a rite?" He looked at Em. "Do you know any secrets?" he asked.
