As it was in his best interest, Rudi continued to answer her questions.
"Yeah he's used the same guy each time," he said. "Sascha's a big guy, blond, not fat, just big. His delivery boy was small, weedy-looking, barely spoke German. I don't know his name."

"Okay, you will call Sascha now and arrange a meeting, think of a good reason you would arrange a meeting. If I hear you having to explain yourself too much because you gave a bad reason to meet or say something unusual, a few broken fingers will be the least of your worries." Nadya pulls her shiv out of her boot, while holding him steady with the other hand, and lets him see the blade so he gets the point. "And actually trying to alert him intentionally? Well let's just say I'll be pissed off if you try that." She holds him with the tip of the blade against his side and maneouvres him to a phone.

Rudi nodded and walked over to the phone. He pulled a small notebook out of his pocket and found the number and dialled it. The phone call didn't take long, they earliest they could meet was Monday at the Last Cathedral. Rudi didn't push it. He didn't want to sound desperate.
"I didn't tell him you were coming," Rudi said. "He might be a little annoyed, but we can just explain you away."

"That's to meet Sascha's contact, yes, not Sascha himself?" Nadya doesn't look happy with the wait, but she can live with it. "Okay, are you normally in communication with him? Or do you just call when you need a trade?" She continues checking various things he might not be telling her, that might clue Sascha and his people in that something is wrong. "So what will you do at the meeting? Take money and exchange for tapes?"

"On Monday we'll meet his contact," Rudi said. "I haven't told him what I want yet. We can tell him we want to set up a meeting with Sascha himself. He may or may not agree. It depends on what you want from him."
It occurred to him that Nadya probably wanted to kill him. He wasn't a stupid man, and he had managed to piece together what was going on. And he really didn't like being in the middle of it.

"No, that will make him suspiscious, you'll just play it business as usual. You need some tapes replaced, the originals are damaged." She guides him back away from the phone and sits him down in a chair, then backs away a few steps. She keeps the shiv out, to keep the threat of rather serious quantities of pain fresh in his mind. "Have you heard from Leon since yesterday? I told him to stay, but if he's done a runner you can earn yourself some brownie points here." She grins. "And you really need a few of them."

Rudi hesitated, but was too much of a coward to lie to protect one customer. There were lots of perverts out there to replace his business.
"He left an incoherent message on my answering machine," Rudi admitted. "I didn't know what to believe, hence the gun. I don't know if he's skipped town, but it seems you scared him enough to."

Nadya nods slightly, she had thought it would be a bit unusual to keep a gun in the shop all the time. "He's going to regret that. I told him I wouldn't be happy if he didn't turn up. Now I have to find the little shit and bring him back here." She smiles slightly, as the thought of hunting him down appeals to her more primal instincts. "I need a roll of tape, I'm sure you've got one around here, where?"

"A roll of tape?" Rudi looked thoughtful, and a little frightened. He was already imagining what it was for. "Not really, no. But I can go to the shop, right across the street," he added quickly. "I mean, you can go. I mean, we both can go." He obviously didn't want her to think he was having any ideas of escaping or calling the police.

Nadya looks at him skeptically for a few seconds. "Bullshit." She advances on him and grabs hold, trying to twist him into a painful armlock. "I don't believe that, you move around boxes of tapes and shit, send out packages, you should have tape somewhere. Don't fuck me around, arsehole."

Rudi muttered something incoherent for a while before he managed to form proper words.
"Not packages... sometimes small ones... tape comes... haven't got... sorry."
He mumbled out these words in between gasps of pain as Nadya wrestled him into an armlock without much resistance.

Nadya groans in irritation. "Unless you think of some way of me to restrain you while I have to go out for a little while, I'm going to have to use my imagination." She raises her shiv and looks at it thoughtfully. "Maybe I could pin you to the floor..."

"No please," he suddenly became a lot more coherent. "Curtains, belt, shoelaces..." He had probably seen his own fair share of bondage films. "The tapes. Rolls of film inside. Hard to rip all together..."

"Hmm..." None of them were ideal options, but they would do in the short term. "Okay." She manoeuvres him back to the tapes they'd been looking at earlier and pushes him to the floor. "Stay there." Then she puts away her shiv and starts unravelling one of the tapes at random. "Have you got a locked storeroom somewhere in here?"

Rudi looked hesitant, but didn't keep the crazy lady waiting for an answer. "This counts?" he asked. "I have a key for the door. And there's my office downstairs. But this is the 'store room'."
