Rudi Stolcke's adult film and book shop is right over a chocolate shop in the city centre. It opens around 9 am and closes at 7 pm.

Nadya arrives early in the morning before the shop even opens, coffee having beaten out whatever effect the previous night had had on her. She's wearing her usual selection of tough, slightly-worn denim and has her shiv tucked into her boot in case she needs to get nasty. She's no expert at inconspicuous, but she stands at a nearby bus stop with a newspaper and tries to act like she isn't watching the entrance of the adult store. Then she waits there for someone to open the shop up.

The shop opened up at around nine am. A casually-dressed man in his late thirties unlocked the shop door and headed inside. There were no customers yet, but then it was a little early in the morning for smut.

Nadya waits a few seconds after he's gone inside then starts after him, still holding the newspaper in one hand while she approaches the entrance to the shop. She walks in quite casually, and starts browsing the material while she gets an idea for the layout.

The shopkeeper looked at Nadya curiously as she walked in. Either they didn't get many women in here, or her attempts to act casual were unsuccessful.
"Can I help you miss?" he asked. "Are you looking for anything in particular?"

"Sure, I'm looking for something fun to read." She says, quite sincerely, with a faint grin. "Nothing too... weird. Where should I be looking, mister?" She ends the sentence as a question, hoping he'll fill in the blank.

The man didn't leave his seat behind the counter and didn't stop watching Nadya. "Books are over there," he pointed towards the aisle to the left. "Magazines are near the exit." He didn't wonder about what she meant by 'weird'. He didn't worry about his customers' tastes in this business.

Nadya follows his direction to the books and starts looking through them curiously, but does manage to remember why she's really there even as she does find something that piques her curiosity. While she browses, she watches the shopkeeper out of the corner of her eye to see if he's watching her or up to something else.

The shopkeeper kept watching her as she browsed.

Eventually Nadya picks up a book and returns to the front desk, and reaches into her back pocket for money. Once she's got her change, she meets the guy's eye. "I heard from someone that you keep... special stuff here."

The shopkeeper took the book and scanned it, then put it in a dark paper bag.
"This stuff not special enough for you?" he asked with a smile. "That's ten marks."
He gave her back her change and continued to watch her as he handed her the bag with her filthy book in it.

"It's not something I'm personally interested in, but one of my friends is involved in that sort of thing." She took the bag and tucked it into her pocket for her later enjoyment. "And she's a bit shy about this sort of thing."

The shopkeeper didn't look like he had a clue what Nadya was talking about. He just shrugged and nodded towards the various films on display.
"Well if she's not in any of those I can order a film for you, if you know the name of the film," he said. "Or even your friend's name would do as a start."

"I didn't say she's in any, she's into them. So I'm asking about them for her." She looks towards the films on display and returns the shrug. "From what she said, they're not likely to be out front..."

The shopkeeper nodded at the revelation, and even smirked a little.
"I see," he said. "Well like I said, if you know the name of the film, I can order it. Otherwise, the movies are all on display. What you see is what I've got."
Nadya could see no indication that he wasn't being completely honest with her.
