"Really?" Torsten smiled. "I've only been doing this for a couple of days. Martin's been at it much longer than me." He looked at Martin, expecting him to contribute.
"Yeah, many moons," Martin said, before correcting himself quickly "... months." He sat down on one of the many out of place rocks in the back yard and watched. It was already dark.
"You're a Cliath already, I bet you know more than either of us," Torsten asked. "Uhm, do you go to school?" He wasn't actually sure how old she was, but she didn't look that much older than him.

Nina rolled her eyes. "Don't remind me. I just finished school and am supposed to go to University here. But I hate it." Somehow, she didn't mind talking about it to these boys. It made it all a little less horrible, when she realised how small her problems were compared to, say, Martin's experiences. "What about you guys? School?"

"Yeah, I'm still in school," Torsten said. "It's kind of hard to stay focused on that now that we know what we're here for. I don't think a lot of us manage to keep their old lives. I mean, the pack would have a hard time showing up to work with those scars..."
He looked around at Martin, and decided to answer for him. "Martin's wolf born," he explained.

"Ah I see," said Nina thoughfully. So that's why he talked in moons. She wasn't sure if it made things any easier to be wolf-born.
"So does anyone know what we're supposed to do here," she said, deciding suddenly that if she couldn't just come out and ask these boys, she might as well pack her bags and hop on a train back to Stuttgart. She had to start being a bit bolder.
"I mean, until the battle starts and we will be doing any actual fighting."

Both boys looked especially excited when Nina mentioned the prospect of battles.
"We live, we learn, we prepare," Cloud-Dancer said, coming out of the back door and joining then in the yard. "Hey this place is pretty big." She looked around at the neglected yard, and then smiled at Nina. "Looks like they have a lot of things to do," she said. "As for us, we'll establish the Sept, build up our defenses, let the spirits of this caern know that we're here to stay. We will not abandon them again, no matter the cost."
She turned to the boys. "You should head back inside," she said.
"We'll see you later then," Torsten said with a smile, then he and Martin headed back inside.
Cloud-Dancer started to walk around the Library. "You should be bolder, you know," she said, echoing what Nina was thinking. "Most of those kids in there don't even outrank you. They have a lot to be proud of, but don't let that intimidate you." She stopped and turned to look at Nina. "So what do you think of this place?"

Nina walked back to the Library alongside Cloud-Dancer. "I love it," she said, with utmost sincerity. She was wondering whether they would have to go back to their houses at some point, and she didn't really want to leave this place. When she thought of her lonely little apartment and all the boxes still waiting to be unpacked, it made her a little queasy. She thought about all the people she had met that day, and decided to ask Corina what she had been thinking.
"Do the others all live in their own houses, or do some of them live here at the Library," she asked.

"I'm glad you do," Cloud-Dancer grinned. "I don't know if anyone actually lives here, but they do take turns staying over and guarding the place. They do have some bunks upstairs if someone needs to crash for a while, but not enough to house all the Garou in the city. It's still very different from what we've got back home though."
She shrugged. "Most of them have their human lives to keep up with too," she said. "Although they'll be a sight if they show up to work tomorrow in that state."
They started to walk back down towards the gate where they had first run into Micah, and Cloud-Dancer continued. "Walks-with-Death is looking to put together a proper Sept now that we have the resources. Things should be a little more organised then."
