Cloud-Dancer met the two newcomers in the Umbra at nightfall. Her hair was tied back tightly to avoid getting in the way, and she was carrying a large axe strapped to her back. She looked prepared for battle, even though Danny had said this was only a security check.
"All right, here's the deal," she said. "As you know, this city is divided by a wall. This wall keeps us out of the East side, but more importantly, it keeps the friendly residents of the East side out of here. It keeps us and our Umbra from being overrun, as we grow stronger. It kept the Sept safe when there were only a handful of Garou in Berlin. The wall's spirit is a powerful agent of the weaver. If you attempt to cross it, you will find out exactly how powerful it is. It doesn't like people breaking the rules, you see. But the wall is weak in some places. We've placed guardians to protect these places, and protect our city, our cubs, and our kin. So this is a scouting run. We check up on our guards, run through the checkpoints, do not disturb the wall, and do not approach Checkpoint Charlie." She paused. "Any questions?"

As he approaches the rendezvous point and sees Cloud Dancer distinctly battle-ready, Hands of Mercy swiftly readies his bow and daggers, placing his bow across his chest, over one shoulder before shifting into lupus whereupon all the weapons disappeared amidst the scars criss-crossing his body.
"What do we do if we find a breach?" Although he is fairly sure of the answer, he wants to be sure of the standing orders before it all goes to hell.

Erik, now having healed from his little encounter earlier in the day, reclines in his Hispo form as he listens to Cloudy's words. His nods at different points, showing that he's actually paying attention.
About to ask a question himself, he waits for the skald to finish speaking, before adding his own thoughts.
"Yeah, when you say 'scouting run'," He says, "That mean if we see any Wyrm-fuckers, we don't engage, only engage if we outnumber 'em, or what?"
His massive shoulders heave as he gives a shrug.
"Other than that," He adds, "I'm sweet."

"If there's a breach, we fix it," Cloud-Dancer said. "If we get overwhelmed, we head back and return with backup."
She joined them in Hispo, the axe melding into her body like Hands of Mercy's weapons had done.
The three of them started to head south-east, towards the inner city. The further they went, the denser the city became. Umbral Berlin looked nothing like it's physical counterpart. The spiritual representation seemed to be that of a much older city, a city that had been violently destroyed before any of them had been born. But that too was slowly dying as the new city took its place.
The wall was the main exception. The city was full of Weaver spirits, but none managed to put Erik and Hands of Mercy quite on edge as the wall did. Cloud-Dancer led them along the wall, although she never got too close. They stopped at every major checkpoint and continued south, and the landscape suddenly started changing again. The weaver spirits disappeared. It seemed as if among this weaver-infested city, they had found a small patch of the wyld. Cloud-Dancer slowed down. "Tiergarten Park," she explained as she came to a halt. "Something's not quite right."

Hands of Mercy had remained in Lupus as they ran, running at the back of the group, not so much out of subservience but pragmatism. He was more use at range, and hopefully if they got jumped, the bigger targets'd be targets first. If not, he is still Fenrir, and still has teeth.
As Cloud-Dancer slows, so does Hands of Mercy, and he sniffs the air, watching his surroundings for anything out of place.

Erik, distracted by the sudden lack of Weaver influence, doesn't quite notice Cloudy as she slows, only stopping and turning to look at her when he hears her speak.
His nostrils flare as he takes-in the scents of his surroundings, eyes and ears sharp, scanning for whatever it was that had caused Cloud-Dancer to stop.

"The Brandenburg gate," Cloud-Dancer said. "There's supposed to be a guardian at the gate."
They could see where the wall was weak, and it was near the twelve large columns which were the Brandenburg gate. Erik recognised it, although he'd only ever seen it in the physical world. It differed slightly. Most notably, the GDR flag was missing.
"Let's find the guardian," she said, advancing slowly towards the gate.

As the gate came into sight in the distance they saw no sign of any spirit guarding it, but Cloud-Dancer and Hands-of-Mercy could see a crumpled figure on the ground a short distance from the gate. Erik was as oblivious as usual. There were no signs of anything else nearby, and the figure was far enough from the wall itself to be safe to approach.

"Hands of Mercy, stay two steps behind me and keep your bow ready," Cloud-Dancer said. "Erik, stay close to me. Be ready."
She shifted to Crinos, and the axe reappeared strapped to her back. She pulled it out and held it in both hands. Then she started to approach the figure.
"Medraut, betrayer of tribes and killer of men," she muttered as she approached. "There are men and beasts ready to die. Rise for the sound of battle. We will not be caught off-guard this time."

Erik, blissfully unaware of the trouble ahead of them, merely shrugs his shoulders at Cloudy's request, sticking close to her as she approaches the wall.
But, as they approach, he realises what she's so uptight about, spying the crumpled figure after after getting a little closer.
He keeps his eyes on his surroundings, covering Cloudy's flank, adrenaline building and ready for trouble.

Hands of Mercy follows the Ragabash's orders without question or words, slipping easily into his birth form and readying his bow, an arrow pressed to the string as he scans his surroundings for any who might threaten the small group.

As they approached the crumpled figure it became apparent it was very much dead. The first clue was that it was in three seperate pieces. Even Erik could tell what it once was, though. The destroyed spirit appeared to be a very ordinary example of a scrag, fierce even in death. Around it were traces of the fluids that had been inside it's body, and many footprints could be seen streaking around the area. It was obvious that there had been a large fight there recently and a trail of the footprints, smeared with the scrag's ichor, led into the park. None of the three could see any activity from where they were though, with the foliage of the park limiting their view.
Cloud-Dancer felt Medraut coming alive as the spirit readied itself to cleave wyrmspawn at her direction.
Just for ease of reference: Erik has 2 rage, 3 will Hands has 3 rage, 2 will Cloud-Dancer has 4 rage, 4 gnosis, 6 will

Cloud-Dancer looked up from the dead scrag and at Hands of Mercy.
"I need your eyes and ears," she said. "Let's find out where this trail leads. Erik, be ready to fight."
She let the Skald lead the way, but followed close behind him, keeping a look-out for any kind of ambush.

Momentarily surprised that the Ragabsh was asking him to scout, Hands-of-Mercy hesitates a moment before starting out along the trail. He slips back down into lupus for the task, and begins to cautiously make his way onward, searching for the origin of the trail, and keeping as sharp an ear, eye and snout as he can manage out for anything that seemed out of place.

Erik bares his teeth as he spies the dead scrag, a soft growl in his throat. Subconsciously, he hoped the body would show even a twitch of movement, so he could tear the thing into a few more pieces.
No such luck, though.
Looking back up at the two Fenrir, he speaks.
"You see 'em, just point 'em out." Is all he says, his voice barely more than a whisper.
And with that, he falls in line at Cloudy's side.
