Hands of Mercy lowers his bow as the Spiral gets out of range and into some cover on the far side. He hoped that this pack was not representative of the Spirals' strength else they'd all be gaining more than just a few scars. He continues to watch the group's surroundings as he listened to the others.

The threat of attack no longer directly imminent, Erik relaxes a little, but is still wary of the pack of Spirals in the distance.
"Well," He says with a snort, turning to his Gaian companions, "That was exciting."
Even in Crinos, Erik manages to form a smile, a smile that's just asking to be answered by a fist.

Cloud-Dancer snarled through her teeth at Bone-Cracker, but she reigned it in, and let them go.
"That was stupid," she snapped at Erik. "But I appreciate your backing down. There is no honour in throwing your life away like this. You are a good warrior." Her voice softened a little. He had fought almost like a Fenrir, despite his tribe. She was willing to forgive his brief lapse in judgment. "We will get the chance to take him down," she assured him. "And we'll be ready for him."
She turned to the guardian when he spoke, and nodded. "I will let him know," she said. "We will not let this gate fall. We will have a pack fighting by your side whenever they dare attack." She bowed her head a little to the great spirit. "Your service at this gate has kept our territory free of taint for many months," she said. "We will not fail you now."

The offensive comment about Cloud made her uneasy and happy that she was just a scrawny teenager, whom lacked the feminine curves of a grown woman, it was a part of the grown up world that she could not quite handle yet. Again Erik drew attention to himself and Katrine wanted to wipe the smile of Erik face real bad, but lowering herself to do so in front of the Spirals was beyond her pride still. Sounding like the battle was over; she slowly took a step forward the park and her hidden army bag, laving waiting for her behind a bush

The pack of wolves moved off, and Hands-of-Mercy couldn't see any signs of danger around now that threat had left. It looked like their job was done.
Stonetooth nodded and looked over at Hands-of-Mercy and Erik, then back at Cloud-Dancer. "If the park has been scoured, then there is no need for you all to stay any longer. I am strong enough now to hold this gate if any more banes try to pass."

Even though he was unsure of whether the sabretooth-spirit would understand, Erik gives Stonetooth a nod; a silent gesture of thanks, and a promise that he would be back to fight by his side when the time came.
"Well," He says, addressing Cloudy, "We about done for the night? That one-eyed tribemate've yours said something about grabbing a drink earlier, and I reckon I'm ready for it."
He looks at the Adren for a moment, then at Kat, and the gooey crud that coats them both.
"Besides," He adds, "I reckon you two could do with a shower. You fuckin' stink!"
Again, he smiles, but his wounds are clearly beginning to take their toll, and it soon fades.

Hands of Mercy also nods to the powerful spirit and then to Cloud Dancer. "Do we have further gates to check?"

Cloud-Dancer nodded and turned away from Stonetooth to face the three Cliath. "Just one more," she said, looking at Erik. "Think you can handle it?"
Then she looked to see where Katrine had gotten herself to. "We'll make another run, then head back to the Caern," she said. "But we'll need to take a detour. We're not nearing the wall at Checkpoint Charlie... it's too dangerous."

Katrine had been heading at the park, but she not gotten far and not far enough away to escape Cloud-Dancers words. Now turning around at the mention of and other job with one eye brow rose in question. “I thought that would head back to the park, getting my stuff, it seems like you’re manage the rest of this without me.” Hungry, tired and not all together happy with the company, all she wanted was to be left alone, free of explaining and arguing, something that surely happen before the sept alpha of their Caern would accept her in or worse, kicking her out on her ass.

Giving a nod to Cloudy, Erik's smile returns.
"I can handle whatever I gotta handle," He says, "But after that, I'm gettin' some fuckin' booze in me... and I hope ya don't don't think you're not joinin' me."
And, with a lame, overly flamboyant wave of his hand, he motions in the direction of the next gate.
"Lead on." He adds.

"Not so fast," Cloud-Dancer said, not quite fooled. He might be trying hard to look all right, but his wounds spoke differently. "You're heading back. Many-Shadows too. Hands of Mercy and I will check the last gate. If there's no trouble, we will catch up with you before you've reached the Caern."
Then she added tentatively: "If we don't, send someone to Checkpoint Bravo," she said. Then, the axe still in her hand, she shifted to Lupus and barked to Hands of Mercy to follow.

Katrine did not look very pleased by that order, she shoot a glance at Erik. Having no idea about where the cearn was, she was left with no other choice then to see what Erik would do. This was just a party waiting to happen

Although Erik might have liked to argue, Cloud-Dancer's request didn't give him much chance, and before he could get a word in, she and Hands of Mercy had run off towards the final checkpoint. Luckily for Katrine, the slow walk back towards the Caern with Erik wasn't as awkward as it could have been. They hadn't gone far when the other two Fenrir rejoined them, having found that they were not needed at the final checkpoint. Walking at Erik's pace meant they didn't reach the Caern until dawn, but nobody was set on complaining. They were greeted at the Caern by the Warder, a large man with wild hair who, in the Umbra, had large white wings which gave him the ability to fly.
(Day's up. Next post: HERE) Let's have a small side thread for Katrine: here
