Cloud-Dancer's car parked on the side of a street and she and David headed up to the Caern. The neighbourhood was very quiet and peaceful. It appeared to be a residential area. The library itself was at the edge where the town met the forest. David felt a strange calm pass over over him as he approached. It was like the park, only much stronger. He didn't fully understand it yet, but he felt a spiritual connection to the place.

Cloud-Dancer retrieved the labrys and locked the car, then led David up to the Caern. She hoped there was a healer around, for both David's sake and hers. So far, she hadn't shown any signs that the leg Kord had bitten was in pain. But blood was leaking through her shoe, and it was really just the gifts of Fenris that kept her from showing it.
She kept quiet as they reached the library. There didn't seem to be any activity in the main area, but it was warm thanks to the burning fire. "Welcome home," she said to David. "The Warder will want to meet you, but it can wait till morning. Take a seat. I'm sure there are some strong painkillers and bandages around. I'll try the kitchen." She stepped out for a bit, leaving David in front of the fire for now.

David tried a few of his fencing techniques to keep himself active after Cloud-Dancer left. As he slowly practiced he wondered what it would be like to fence as a 9-foot tall werewolf. He thought of trying to go back to that form but decided that he would rather still have some clothes on when he got done. After he did a few drills he sat down by the fire and told himself that if he can still fight, he'll be of some use. "My anger will be of good use in a fight, if I can find it again." he thought to himself. David mentally practiced the basics of dodging blows to reassure himself of his competency in other forms of combat. He then decided to get up and find Cloud-Dancer and the kitchen. David had some idea on how to patch up injuries and thought he could be of some use to her. He also thought there might be some food in there as well as he was getting hungry.
As a afterthought, he searched his mind to try to find the small spark of anger that he had felt was drained earlier and attempted to rekindle it with the day's experience. He filled his mind with a thought of being duped by Johannes and Kord and let it flow through him. He felt the strange calming resonance of the library disrupt that thought though and let the idea rest.
David resumed his original plan of finding the kitchen and Cloud-Dancer. He slowly walked towards the area where he thought he saw Cloud-Dancer go.

Cloud-Dancer stepped out of the kitchen just as David started walking towards it. "There's not much food it seems," she said. "But I'm making tea." She placed a first aid kit on the table. "I'm not very good at this," she admitted. "I was hoping someone from Vasara's pack would be around. They're the experts on patching people up. But on the bright side, if I do make a complete mess of things, your Garou immune system will take care of pretty much any infection that would kill a human." She wasn't sure this was really a 'bright side'. "Did you live in East Berlin all your life?" she asked as she started to pull bandages out of the box.

David smiled and replied to her question, "No, I lived out in the countryside on my parents' farm, about forty miles southeast of Berlin. The reason why I lived in East Berlin is because they both were killed while we were in the East. I just had to live there because I couldn't get back home, not that the house is probably standing anymore. I survived on extortion money since I didn't have any of my own. I almost always visited Treptower park at night though."
David started to help her with the bandaging of his wounds. "I do have some experience at this; fencing gave me quite a few injuries so I had to learn something about first aid." David admitted to Cloud-Dancer, "Would shifting into my werewolf form help with the healing at all?"
As he cleaned his wound with Cloud-Dancer's help, David cautiously asked her, "Who is this Warder you mentioned earlier and who is Vasara?"
((ooc: I thought I read somewhere in the core book that you need to be in a form other than your breed form to heal agg wounds at 1 level per day.)

Cloud-Dancer smiled, a little surprised that he'd managed to catch on to that despite the pressure.
"You noticed," she said. "I'm impressed. Teaching you is going to be easy. Leaving your breed form always helps you heal faster. You can heal normal cuts and bruises at an amazingly fast rate, within seconds usually. But things that hurt your essence, like claws," she pointed to the claw-marks on his chest, "And teeth... they take longer to heal. You see, we are part spirit, that is why you were able to reach the spirit world through which we escaped."
"You can stay in Glabro overnight," she said. "I will show you how to change to that form. You have taken your wolf form and your warform, your Glabro form will give you strength and toughness while still allowing you to look almost human. Most people will just think you're a rather big ugly brute."
She concentrated and shifted to her Glabro form. She grew in size, gaining about twenty kilograms of muscle, and now looked just about as big and tough as David did. She had been rather pretty in her normal form. Now she was a lot less pleasant to look at.
"Imagine what you'd be able to do in this form," she said. Her voice was a little hoarse and scratchy. "With a blade you could cut a human in half. Don't forget your strength in this form, you could easily end up hurting someone."
She let him try the shift before she helped him put on the bandages.
"The Warder, and Vasara, are two big ugly one-eyed thugs who are pretty much to thank for this place's survival. They were two of the first Garou to return to Berlin. The Warder, Danny, his job is to make sure nothing threatens the purity of the Caern. Vasara is one of my tribe-mates. He and his pack are pretty competent healers."
(OOC: That is true. usually I let one wound heal up after each night.)

David was a bit surprised at that form she took, but immediately concentrated on getting his body to shift into the same form as her. David envisioned himself a bit taller and more muscular than the normal form he was in.
After shifting (if I shift to Glabro) he asked Cloud-Dancer, "What would have happened if I had gone with Kord?" After looking at Cloud-Dancer's leg David gave her a wry smile and said, "Looks like you need some help as well."

David found Glabro more difficult to reach than Lupus had been, but he managed it eventually. In homid, he was a big muscular kid, but in this form he was huge. The clothes he was wearing, already too small for him, ripped at the seams as he grew in size. One thing was sure, he'd never have trouble reaching the top bookshelves. He could probably lift them if he tried.

Cloud-Dancer looked all the way up at David and smirked. "You might have trouble fitting in the bed that way," she said.
They bandaged up his wounds, although David ended up doing most of the work, as Cloud-Dancer didn't seem to be very good at this. She kicked off her shoe and did her foot next.
Finally, she decided she'd avoided his question long enough. "You would have become one of them, or they would have killed you," she said. "They defile this world, they spread misery and destruction as much as they can. It makes their master, the Wyrm, stronger. We fight them. Because even if we can't stop the Wyrm, we can stop them." She started chucking what was left of the bandages back into the box.
(Sorry I missed your question about Vasara earlier, I will edit an answer in.)

"The Wyrm", David replied, "I don't like the sound of that." David scowled as he looked down and saw that he had ripped out of his clothes again. "Isn't there anything that I can do to stop ripping out of these clothes whenever I change forms!" he grumbled.
His frown turned into a grin as he heard that there might possibly be more combat for him. David said to Cloud-Dancer, "I like the sound of more combat, but I think I may need the rest before I charge in again. Didn't you say there was some tea in the kitchen?"
David looked at his size again with a grin and said, "Looks like I will sleep on the floor tonight. Don't worry, I've slept on worse surfaces than this. I hope there will be breakfast on the table when I wake up though." David remembered a time when he was forced to sleep on the streets for the lack of a home with sorrow, but put it aside for the time being.

Cloud-Dancer had obviously forgotten about the kettle, which had probably boiled by now. She returned to her homid form. She stood up and hopped to the kitchen while she spoke. "Your wolf form might be more comfortable for sleeping on the floor," she said. "Your clothes can be dedicated to you. That's why mine don't rip off when I change. A friend knows the rite, but we'll perform it for you when we get you some proper clothes."
She handed him a hot cup of tea. "I will go find Danny," she said. She let the honorifics and the deed names drop for once. Things were confusing enough without all of that. He'd learn soon enough. "Try to get some rest in the meantime." She paused and then gave him a smile. "You did really well tonight," she said. "I look forward to all the great battles we will fight together."

David drank the tea, relishing the warmth of it in his stomach. He remembered a day when having a cup of tea was done on a regular basis. David then got down on the floor and slowly let himself shift to his wolf form. He curled up near the fire and closed his eyes, letting himself sleep after that long day.

David settled down to rest by the fire in his large white wolf form. He was so tired that he fell asleep almost immediately. He didn't know how long it had been since he'd fallen asleep when he heard the voices. Somewhere in between dreaming and waking, he could hear them talking.
"He can't stay, it is too dangerous." The first voice was a deep male voice.
"It is more dangerous to leave, thanks to... recent events," the second voice was undoubtedly Cloud-Dancer's. "That is true, but his tribe will want him returned to them. His family will too." "It will have to wait. We have no choice." "I don't like the idea of keeping the cubs here. They shouldn't have to go through all this yet. They need to learn first." "They are part of this war too. He knows it already. He will learn by doing. And he is not much younger than some of the kids here. He has been on his own for a while, he knows how to take care of himself." "He shouldn't have to," the male voice said, maybe a little sadly. "Maybe not, but this is his war too."
There was a short pause, but David could hear the male voice finally give in just before he fell asleep again. When he woke up, he could not really be sure if the conversation had taken place at all.
The fire was starting to burn itself out, and so it was colder when David woke up properly the next morning. Some clothes had appeared on the chair near the fireplace. They seemed to be his size, or at least more likely to fit him that the clothes that had been provided the night before. The library seemed less empty than it had been the night before as well. He could make out voices somewhere in the building, and general noises of morning activities.

David got up from his place by the fire and took a look at the clothes on the chair. David first checked his bandages and was somewhat surprised to see that his wounds had healed somewhat. He shifted back into his human form and put the clothes on, "Finally, some clothes that fit me." David remarked to himself. He did his exercises that he routinely did every morning and decided to go see if there was any food around.
David started walking towards where he thought the voices were coming from, figuring that someone might be having some breakfast there. He kept himself alert, not knowing what could happen in the library if he let his guard down.

From the kitchen there was sound of movement and music, though it was well turned down so as not to overly disturb. It was instrumental and most likely unlike anything David had heard before, pipes and other instruments hard to identify that held a haunting sound. But more loudly was the very obvious sounds of cans and boxes as they scraped across wood shelving.
Micah was just glad someone had brought some food finally, he would have to bring that up to someone, the pack needed to contribute more, it was the way of the wolf after all. He winced slightly as he had to stretch to put a few items on the upper shelf, pausing to rub his arm after he did so. Hearing a sound from the hallway, he turned to see who was about to enter the kitchen.
