"Are you blind, Strider?" Slit-Throat was stunned by this hypocrite. "There haven't been frontlines and safe havens in ages. Berlin is nothing special. Whole septs dissappear these days, and they often bring down their allies too. You want to see frontline? REAL frontline? Go to Mexico, go to Amazon, go to the dead rivers of Russia and Balkan. Go fight Thunderwyrms near nuclear test-sites. Go places where ancient evils are lurking and awakening. Berlin is nothing but one city under siege amongst others."
"And we have sent you support. We have taken your Cubs amongst us, Torsten as our last student. We have sent you warriors." Even with quick calculations he remembered two fenrir and now he was here with a Silver Fang ahroun. They were not good enough for this fool? "Opening our caern's heart to you by Moonbridge, with your current preparations of protecting it, might prove suicidal to our caern."
"Is your mind so warped and tongue so forked you don't understand what I am saying? You know what you should do without me saying it out loud." This Strider had clearly grown dependant on his power.

Konstantin was quite sure David was a silver fang even before he introduced himself. He looked at young man approach and answered: "I am Konstantin Silverforge of the House Gleaming Eye, cliath ahroun of the Silver Fangs." Konstantin was a bit unsure what he should say to Frostfang and he kept his voice down. Slit-Throat was in bad mood, and that it was easy to get your spine cracked by then. Well, at least finding the Cub he was supposed to find happened easily.
"I have been sent here to teach you. Be quiet and don't go between those two." he said with low and silent voice. "It might get you killed."

David looked at Silverforge and replied, "I thought Cloud-Dancer was teaching me. But as you're a Silver Fang as well and of higher rank than me, I'll listen to you."
David watched Slit-Throat for any sign that he might take his fury out on someone else, including Danny. He stood a safe distance from the two and asked Silverforge, "So who is the other guy talking to Danny. And what can you tell me of my house and family?"

Danny was hardly surprised by what he was hearing. It was easy to underestimate what was truly going on here without actually seeing it. Without seeing the hellhole, the bane at the wall, the wall itlelf...
"It is support now, to take in a cub of your own tribe?" he asked. If they counted a lone metis as support, then they really needed to rethink their defensive strategy. Even he knew that. He studied Slit-Throat carefully. "Don't open the bridge then," he said. "Stay safe. We will find another way to send our cubs home."
It was obvious was the Fenrir wanted now. He didn't need to probe any further.
"Do you think I want to stay here? Tied down in a hole tainted by the weaver, walled in by her webs and human bricks? I am wolf-born and a Silent Strider. Why would this be anything but my own personal hell? I do this because it is my duty to Owl, and no one else. This is his Caern. We took it back. We opened it. We drove off the Spirals and held it for a year. You want to come now, and claim it in the name of your leaders? Go ahead."

"Stay safe? You arrogant idiot! Did you lose your hearing when you lost your eye? Do you think we have endless supply of recruits? You have more members here than we have at our caern, and EVEN THEN we haven't told anyone not to come to your aid! Are you so blind and stupid that you think that if Berlin stands, it is worth for losing the whole country to Wyrm?"
This conversation made Slit-Throat to make up his mind. "My only leaders are Fenris-wolf and Gaia. I was not ORDERED to come here, it was mentioned to me and I volunteered! I came to see can you defend yourself well enough for us to be able to trust you with the Moonbridge. All I have seen is one-eyed, winged Strider who trusts on Guard-spirits that he himself knows to be easily fooled if enemy has a SINGLE decent theurge amongst themselves!"
"I was not going to do this, but I can't tolerate that kind of arrogant ignorance! I WILL call you out! For position of Warder I WILL challenge you, and Gaia and Fenris be my witness, we will FIGHT for that position! It is a position of a REAL warrior, a REAL general, not some position of lurking, staring or singing songs and telling stories at fireplace! With all those positions you are nothing but blind Tyrant!"
"Be the Alfa and whatever else positions you have hogged for yourself, but Warder you will no longer be without a fight!"

Konstantin shifted into his human form, holding his heavy hammer at his shoulder and quickly straightening his clothes.
"He is one of the leaders of Fenrir. I will tell you things in time." Konstantin looked at the situation. It seemed to be getting out of hands. ""There is time and place for everything. Time for telling stories is not now."
Konstantin was clearly uneasy at thought of Slit-Throat staying here. He had already hoped to get out of his iron grip.

"Is that all?" Danny asked. "You needed all this time to say that?" He shook his head. "It seems that it's you who has not been listening," he said. "I did not take these positions for myself. I did it because somebody had to. Would you have me name a Cliath Caern Warder instead?" He didn't say how many times he had actually considereing that option seriously. He snorted, and continued. "Well then, you've come all the way here to liberate this Sept from a tyrant? I would love nothing better, than to go back to singing my songs and telling my stories." He shrugged, and although he remained in Crinos, he lost his hostility and relaxed. He even smiled. "You'll find it much easier to get what you want if you're civil about it, my friend. Welcome to Berlin... Warder."
He turned around and started to walk back to the Caern. Maybe Slit-Throat hadn't liberated the Caern from a tyrant, but at least he had liberated him from the Caern.

"I would have. Or the fostern you mentioned." Slit-Throat said. He was stunned by this. He had worked himself up for a fight and now this? Retreat? "It would have not been something unheard of. These are final days."
"A Warder, eh? So..." Slit-Throat rasped, the shouting had made his throat hurt and he tasted his own blood in his mouth "So fill me in. I want to know everything and I need to meet everyone."

"You know what, Slit-Throat-rhya," Cloud-Dancer said after shifting to homid. "I think you did him a favour, even if he doesn't know it yet. This is not his calling. He's not even supposed to be here." She gave David a smile and stepped closer now that she was sure the two weren't going to start fighting. "Well, we're at the edge of the bawn. One more step and we're officially in the bawn... well not officially, we never did draw up the lines themselves, and we don't actually own this land. The library itself is a short walk that way." She pointed towards the north. Slit-Throat couldn't actually see the library itself yet though. "So, I guess this means you're sticking around for a while," she said.

After watching Danny give up his position to Slit-Throat, David looked at Silverforge and said, "So what do we do now? Is there anything I should do properly?" He smiled back at Cloud-Dancer as he saw her.
David shifted back into his homid form and waited for Silverforge to tell him what to do. As a side thought he added to Silverforge, "Can you show me some of your combat skills?"

"We are Silver Fangs, a line of warriorkings and queens. We do not 'show off' with our skills pointlessly. I can hold my ground in battle and I am here to make sure you will too."
"You are mere iron ore now. We need to mold you into steel." he said to boy and waited for a permission to leave to get to seeing the actual caern . Chain of events had been weird and now Konstantin tried to understand fully what just happened. But now the arguments were over so he walked closer to Danny, leaving a area of respect between them.
"I am Konstantin Silverforge, ahroun of Silver Fangs. I am here to tutor the Frostfang-Cub and answer to call of war." he declared and bowed to Danny.

The noise had drawn Micah from the area he had been in while supervising the fight. He sent Martin on a small task, a hunt of whits to keep the cubs senses sharp and his mind occupied as well, for even he had heard the noise. But it sounded like the dealing of the elders and a cub was safer out of such affairs.
Shifting to his Lupus form, though slow, it was still faster then the two legged form. But still not fast enough, he arrived at the end of it all, but still soon enough to find out what had happened. His ears were laid back in confusion at the scene, Danny was stepping down? And this stranger was taking over the pack? Was he a strong alpha? and how would this affect the health of the sept as a whole?
He wanted to follow Danny, but he knew better. Instead he slipped closer looking first at Cloud-Dancer then the new comer. Then bowing his head down he twisted his head in a way to show throat to the new Warder. Respect one elders, always til they proved otherwise.

"I am glad you are here, Silverforge," Danny said. "I apologise for that less than friendly welcome, but the Fenrir are not very happy with me these days."
He did not know how much Cloud-Dancer had explained, so he elaborated. "David changed only last night. Cloud-Dancer brought him back safely, but wounded from his first encounter with the enemy." He indicated David's chest wound. "I believe the Rite of Wounding is in order," he said. David had no clue as to what he was talking about, but it didn't seem to be a bad thing from the way Danny was talking about it. "I hear he did some damage of his own as well."

"Looks like it." Slit-Throat said to Cloud-Dancer. "There is a need for guardians. Some garou, preferrably a pack, should be at the perimeter all the time. And at the Wall should be few garou too, watching for a signs of breaches."
He looked briefly at well-bred young man and Konstantin. "Is he the Frostfang?" he asked from Konstantin. If he was, at least that part had gone well. Slit-Throat gave a short wave to Konstantin to dismiss him. He was better of with one of his own people, even if the other Silver Fangs was just a Cub.
Then his eyes nailed into Micah. At least he knew how to act around athro. "I am Slit-Throat, athro of Fenrir. That will be enough for now as introduction, I don't want to let anyone to know me one by one. I rather would see as many as possible at once and introduce myself just once. Show me the surroundings. We have lot's of work to do here."

"We usually do," Cloud-Dancer said. "It's either Judgment-from-the-Skies' pack, or the new kids' pack, Dämmerlicht. But Vasara hasn't been hanging around recently..." She had already told him about the falling out that Slagbroder had with the Sept, she didn't go into it again. "And Dämmerlicht are off hunting down an Elder Glass Walker..." Who is most likely already dead... "Then there's us," she added. When Micah appeared and respectfully showed throat, she introduced him. "Slit-Throat-rhya, this is Silent Hunter," she said. "Keeper of the Land. There is no one better to show you around the area. Silent Hunter is my pack-mate. We are united under Hrafn." It might not be a totem of war, but no Fenrir would scoff at Raven as a totem.
