When Danny left, David went over to Silverforge and asked, "Now that we're alone and there are no non-Silver Fangs around, will you tell me more about my heritage and my tribe?" He sat down and waited for Silverforge to speak.

"What do you already know?" Konstantin asked. "You do know that you should take time to first digest before you eat more? That goes for information too. I've told you some basics, I am not underschool teacher. You think on what you have heard, digest the information and then you can ask more."
"I think we have briefly covered our Tribe and your family, so I give you a word of our House. Our Tribe is divided geographically into several Houses that rule over certain areas. In some places our word is a Law, in other it is considered as advice. There are also few places where upstart-Tribes take our presence as offence. This area belongs to Gleaming Eye, it consists a lot of Get of Fenris land, Skandinavia, Germany and parts of France. We are considered as one of the most un-Tainted Houses. We share lot's of territory with Fenrir like I said, but usually, as long as we don't show signs of weak leadership, Get of Fenris does respect our ancient right to Rule."
"Now, I will go in and I will get some sleep. Find or make me some food before your Rite, it keeps your hands busy so you can think what you want to know. Wake me up in three hours, and then we will prepare for your Rite." Konstatin finished and walked inside caern.

David's eyes narrowed as he watched Silverforge walk away and he muttered under his breath, "Who does he think he is anyway, a noble lord. Let him find his own food." But he walked into the caern and cooked up a soup consisting of ramen and a few vegetables with some meat and a side of bread for Silverforge to eat. He reorganized his thoughts and decided what question to ask Silverforge.
After about three hours he went over to where Silverforge was sleeping and after shifting to crinos, he nudged Silverforge in the side and growled, "Dinner--Served". He then shifted back into his human form and put out a bowl of soup for him. He then asked him, "I have my question. What does my Frostfang lineage give me amongst other Garou in terms of renown?"

"Why do you walk around in crinos here?" Konstantin asked as he opened his eyes. "Don't show off with your forms. Crinos is for battle and some rituals."
Konstantin rose into sitting position and took the food. "Nothing to drink?" he looked at David. "You need focus. Even small things needs to be done with thought and precision, it shows others that it is you who controls your actions, not your Rage. And how do you think can learn anything if you rush through things, you are not in school, there are no exams to be passed. You need to understand things, not just memorise the words."
"In terms of Renown? Nothing." Konstantin said shortly as he tasted the soup "As my lineage does not give me nothing on terms of Renown. It just affects how people see us, what they expect us to do. And they will use our name to make us act on certain ways, they want us to do what our ancestors did. And if we fail on duties our lineage is famous of, we will be struck harder and we will shame our lineage and our Tribe. And upstarts will take that as a sign of weakness to bring us down."
"It is time of your Rite. Never be late from Rites. It shames us as a Tribe and it insults the performer too."

David gave an annoyed look for a moment and then went to get Silverforge a soda. After doing so he replied, "I prefer crinos for keeping myself in shape. But if you prefer me to stay in human form. then I'll consider it. However, if there are humans nearby, I will stay in human form." He then headed out to where Danny was performing the rite and left Silverforge back in the kitchen to finish his dinner.

"Using crinos to stay in shape is like taking massive amounts of steroids just for everyday jogging." Konstantin said. "And it is not a shape to be used in open. We are in library, people live around this place." Konstantin pointed at the window "That there is a street, it is used by people who don't know about us. What if a postman saw you from a window? Or a neighbour? Guy from electricity-company? A kid who was looking for a ball his friends kicked on our yard?"
"I am not preferring homid, I am not asking you to consider. I am telling you to stay in homid when in city unless you are directly attacked, and even then on most cases you should not use a shape stronger than glabro unless you want to go out afterwards killing innocents because they saw you being careless. Forms are not given to us so we can show off. They have purposes." Konstantin shook his head. "No-one wants to start to deal with Veil-breaches. These people seems to be busy enough on their own problems."

David made his way to the backyard where a small fire was burning. The other elders were already there. David recognised Danny, Cloud-Dancer, and Slit-throat by the fire. Micah and Martin arrived shortly after he did. They were all here to witness the rite.
Konstantin caught up less than a minute later, and the rite was ready to begin.
David got the feeling that rites were very serious, but also very social affairs. Everyone had their eyes on him. Cloud-Dancer stood closest to the flames, but the three wolf-borns seemed to avoid getting too close.
"Lord Frostfang," Danny said. "You have been Garou for all of two days, and already you carry your first scars. Tonight we will commemorate them in ash, so you will always remember your glorious escape from enemy territory,. There will be many more battles, and many more wounds, but your first will stand as a reminder of that day, and the pain you have already suffered to stay true to the Garou Nation. David Frostfang, show us your wound."
He waited for David to take off his shirt and reveal the clawmarks on his chest. David felt renewed anger at Kord when he saw the wound again, and the events of the night before returned to him.
Every eye was on David now as Cloud-Dancer plunged her hand into the fire and took out a handful of smouldering ash. Although Danny was performing the rite, she was the one to approach David with the handful of ash. "Ash and fire will show the scars until the end of your days," she said. She didn't give him a warning before she pressed the handful of ash into his chest-wound. It seared with pain again, and David could vividly see Kord's face in his mind as he felt his rage return. He wanted nothing more than to rip him to shreds right now, but he held himself back. He was at the library, among allies. [/i]"Cub, remember your first mark in battle," Danny said. "Bear it proudly for others to see. You already have the makings of a warrior. Someday, you will lead your tribe and pack into battle. But for now, go rest. You have earned it."

David choked down the rage that boiled up to the surface with the memory of Kord. He traced the three claw marks and replied to Danny, "Thank you Danny-rhya, I won't let you down. After the rite was over, David went over to Silverforge and asked, "So why did Cloud-Dancer call me Lord Frostfang, does that mean I am of greater status than you? Ok, so you don't want me in any of my wolf forms here in the library, but what about in the spirit world? There aren't any humans there."
David put on his shirt again and nursed the spark of vengeance in his mind for retribution against Kord. He figured that once Silverforge had answered, he would try to get some sleep.

A good, solid and short rite. Just how Konstantin liked them. He monitored carefully the rite and performers, to see if there was anything in it he could use on his own quest.
"You have to ask her why she called you lord Frostfang. She might have referred to your breeding, and it is customary thing to say in that way. Maybe she just wanted to prank you. I quess I could as well be called lord Silverforge, but I rather EARN my rank and title than try to use my breeding as a way to feel superior. Idiots like that often gets hammered down really quick and hard when they need to actually stand up and show what they got behind the high and mighty facade." Konstantin said to David "I might be twice as old as you, and I am also ranked higher by my deeds than you within the Nation. Breeding does not count there. Spirits judge us by our actions in the end, and don't teach you anything for good breeding alone." This young brat was clearly yanking his chain, and his attitude, even if quite common for Silver Fangs, made the Rage boil within Konstantin. He kept himself as calm as he could, after all David was still just a Cub. And he was supposed to TEACH David, not to suppress him by beatings.
"In umbra you can of course use any form you like. We protect mutually humans and ourselves way so we don't need to kill innocent witnesses and we don't draw wrong kind of attention to us. We blend in and don't shake their world too much so their fear won't bring another inquisition upon us. We have huge enough enemy in Wyrm, we don't need religious zealots after us too."

David smirked and replied, "Well, I guess you are of lesser breeding to say that. You might want to claim a title, but you just don't have one. Perhaps in time you might be accorded one for putting up with me, but now isn't that time. I will do as Danny asks and get some sleep. But I will see if Cloud-Dancer was really joking or not, but I suspect not. Bye, and don't forget to finish the soup." He chuckled for a moment and went over to Cloud-Dancer. He needed to see how long Silverforge's patience lasted and this would be the best way to find out. He asked Cloud-Dancer, "So why did you call me Lord Frostfang? Is that something to do with my heritage. If so, why isn't Silverforge given the title of Lord?" Thinking for a moment he added, "Umm, where should I sleep tonight. Back by the fire as I did last night?"

"I don't want to claim a title I already have, CUB." Konstantin growled at David. "You are nothing but upstart brat high on few new tricks and one lucky escape! I am ACCEPTED ahroun, you are nothing yet!"
"From this moment on you WILL refer me ONLY as Lord Silverforge-Rhya, or you can say goodbye to my teachings AND to only Tribe-mate you have to watch your back here AND you will have just gained a new enemy!"
"Don't think I won't discipline you because you are a Cub. Keep that attitude up rich-boy and I will wait for you to grow into Cliath just to Challenge you and make you cry beneath my feet! You are lucky I DO respect the LAWS and Litany you obviously do NOT respect. There are people who will make you bleed for that attitude and who do not give a shit are they killing a Cub or Cliath!"

David knew that Silverforge was about to break, so he shook his head and said, "You mean you think you're a lord. If you're so high and mighty, why don't you come over here and prove it. As you said before, you are an armorer, a defender, not a front lines soldier. Heh, a lucky escape? I escaped without the aid of the Silver Fangs. Where were the Silver Fangs when I was attacked. There was only Cloud-Dancer who isn't a Silver Fang who came and got me out of East Berlin. And you call that LUCKY? Would you rather want me be a Spiral? And I suspect you were ordered to teach me, would you go against the orders of you superiors by refusing to teach?"
David gave an inward smile at how far Silverforge was going. But he had to find out how good he was if he was going to learn from him.

Konstantin looked at Cloud-Dancer. She was a Fenris adren and she just had been referred as 'not even Silver Fang'.
"It doesn't matter. I do not break any orders here. I offered my help, you refused. You are not worthy your title nor your place amongst Tribe of Kings. You are nothing but whining boy playing tougher than you are." Konstantin laughed at the face of this kid. "I have been Lord longer than you have lived, CUB. You survived just because you were lucky enough, if Cloud-Dancer-rhya would not have found you in time you would be raped right now by your new buddies."
"You think being armorer and defender prevents me from being front-line warrior? It only means I don't fight meaningless battles to wear myself down so I could easily be killed by Wyrm."
"I will meet you again when and if you will be a cliath, CUB. Litany prevents me from crushing you now, but I am patient, and when it is your time to ask for Rite of Passage and Gifts spirits gave to my Tribe, I WILL be there."

David rolled his eyes at Silverforge and replied, "Such noble words, from such a coward. Afraid of enforcing his own rule and he calls himself a Lord."
"Perhaps I'll get lucky again and when that time comes, the Wyrm will have gotten you first. But if you are of the Tribe of Kings, you should be leading up at the front lines, instead of sitting on your throne and acting all high and mighty, do something meaningful with your power. Even though YOU are older, I would rather have Cloud-Dancer as a mentor than an old fart like you. The only time I would learn from you is if you would assert your power and not cower behind the Litany."
He added to Cloud-Dancer, "No offense meant." David prepared to shift to crinos and challenge Silverforge.

"Coward? I do not lead behind lines, I have never done so and I never will. I am not enforcing MY rules, I am enforcing Garou Nation's rules."
"You are a Cub, you are not considered even a full member of Nation yet. I have shown my strength, I have alone hunted and found mighty Wyvern to be my Totem before you started to grow hair on funny places, I have fought and won against enemies time after time, and my Renown proves it." Konstantin lowered his voice into a growl.
"You have no rights to issue challenges and you are protected from them, it is YOU who is cowering behind Litany now, as I have already told you that I WILL be waiting for you at the precise moment you pass your Rite of Passage. Ignore our laws and attack me now and I will show you that battling with weakling Spiral is nothing like battling a true ahroun of Silver Fangs."
