"He is an old friend from my previous Sept," Cloud-Dancer said. "A Fenrir Athro Ahroun known as Slit-Throat Packmangler." She smirked. The name itself usually raised a lot of questions. "Bring your pack around this afternoon and introduce them," she said. "You can meet Zachary then too."
She wasn't worried about David. He might be making a bad impression, but he had been Garou all of two days, and he was learning. He would learn the hard way with Vasara, but he would at least learn quickly. "A leech is a vampire," she said. "Undead monsters brought back to life. They all serve the Wyrm, whether they know it or not. This one obviously knew it. You'll learn your first gifts when you have completed your rite of passage. That will come when the Garou Nation finds you ready. Don't worry, it'll be sooner than you think."

"You know, you take things way to seriously. Melee combat isn't unnatural, for some it is better than claws. And you, with all your experience, should know that the more others know, the less likely they are to get killed. What would you do, Judgement-from-the-Skies, if someone put a shotgun to your head and fired. All the gifts you likely have wouldn't even cover that. Perhaps those elders have a way of cheating death, but no Gift could cover someone being decapitated. Claws and teeth are fine, Gifts may be natural to us, but compared to the tools around us, they pale in comparison. If I were to take Cloud-Dancer's axe and take your head off, what gift of yours would save you? What part of being a werewolf would keep you from that death?", David snarled in return. "Why don't you learn to survive in the urban jungle? Two days ago I was normal. No knowledge about being a werewolf, just a feeling of Rage in my heart. I survived quite well on my own, but what did you do before you became a werewolf? Sleep in a soft bed and eat good food? I will admit one thing though. Since you have beaten me in combat, I will let you teach me. Unlike Silverforge, who wouldn't fight like a warrior and instead wormed his way out by citing that I couldn't challenge him. You at least invited me to brawl with you, and that I respect you for."
David shot Vasara a look of disdain and then respect. He then shifted back into his homid form and said to Cloud-Dancer, "I guess I didn't catch Judgment in a good mood today. Though I might as well keep my mouth shut and let you do the talking."
(Note that the nice ST put David in Glabro for the fight. It wasn't by his own choosing.)

"I will." Vasara said shortly to Cloud-Dancer.
"So which is the problem. Listening or understanding? Knowing the problem will help you on your learning process." Vasara repeated his question. "I've lived on road for years, I use tools to fight. I don't need a teen to tell me how hard living on urban jungle is. I've seen Gifts that makes shotguns obsolite. And I have a Gift that actually could help me survive a shotgun-blast to head. I've been shot many times with pistols, submachineguns, rifles, shotguns. I've been stabbed, torn to pieces and skinned. Yet I am still here and I am alive and not a bit slower or weaker. And I am not even Athro or Elder to do that."
"I've been living with my father before my Change, he is garou and he don't believe in comfort. No money, no soft beds, and I ate what I could catch. I don't know who this Silverforge is but with that attitude you won't get far with me." Vasara came closer to David and a growl rose from his throat. "You snarling at me, boy?"
(Strength of Purpose and Vasara didn't snarl at David on the previous post.)

Neither of them was acting any differently to what she had expected. Soon enough, they would realise they had more in common than they could possibly know right now.
Cloud-Dancer stood up. "Human weapons can be deadly to us, that is true," she said to David. "But they are no match for our gifts. Even my axe can be shrugged off by a little toughness and the right gifts. It is the spirit of vengeance bound within Medraut that makes its blade so deadly. It will directly harm your essence, not just your flesh. Your claws and teeth can do that. Silver and fire can do that. But very few human human weapons can hurt you like that. But you'll learn that soon enough. You've been Garou only two days. This is why I want you to learn from Judgement-from-the-Skies. Because you will be able to see for yourself, rather than hear second and third hand stories. You will learn by doing, because that is the kind of student you are. That is how you will learn best."

"Yes, I just did snarl at you. Or maybe you didn't hear correctly. Did you lose half your hearing as well as half your sight? Would a shotgun loaded with silver be obsolete? Lucky you then, that you had a werewolf father rather than two corpses for parents." David stood up from his chair and rolled his eyes. He said, "Living with your father all your life? I don't see him behind you. But I wouldn't go to warform against you now. At least not until I'm fully healed up. But I have a debt to repay a spiral. And if fighting you gets me closer to killing him, then I'd forgo my own caution. Do you have a debt to repay the Spirals; do you have a thirst for vengeance as well? I would glady learn from you if you do have a bigger grudge against them that just a normal hatred for them."
(Vasara snapped at him, he snarled back, meaning he escalated the aggression.)

"My father was a Fenris, totally unmercifull ahroun. I would rather have dead parents than been living with that monster." Vasara said slowly.
"Shotgun regardless of ammunition would still be obsolete if you could not carry it to Umbra or someone told the shotgun not to work or eject it's ammunition." Vasara said, remembering an old encounter with Edward. "You clealy hear well, so it must be then the understanding that is problem, I try to talk slowly to you."
"I don't have any vengeance on Spirals. They have skinned me, captured and tortured my packmate and she is no older than you. I have killed at least six Black Spiral Dancers on my time here. I do it because they must all die for betraying Gaia and Nation. I want them all dead, and not because of mere personal reasons. I don't care about their names or positions. I can't rest until every last one of them or I myself am dead."
"You are healed, so come on if you want to try it. Attack me and you don't need to worry anything anymore. Ever again. Your choice. You can shout, you can yell, you can have a tantrum if you feel like it, but you will never again snarl at me."

David gave a low growl and replied, "You know, I want my own revenge and if I die fighting a Spiral, that would be good enough. But I won't fight you unless you yourself turn to the Wyrm. I need the training to fight the Spirals and win. You say you have fought and killed six Spirals, and I believe you. But if I can't hunt down the object of my vengeance without getting killed in the process. Why even bother being a garou in the first place. If you could let me try to join your pack, in return for the help and training to fight like the others. I would be obedient to you. "
"I can't fight you alone, you've already proved that. But if you can teach me how to fight in the Garou way, at least I could help you in your goal of the destruction of the Spirals."
David kept his gaze focused on Vasara and didn't move from his position.

"He actually might survive with us. At least for a while." Vasara looked at Cloud-Dancer now. "I will gather my pack and come back later, and we will take both David and Zachary with us then." Vasara's eye focused again on David and he tried to figure out this kid and his motivations. "Pack your stuff. Do you have fake ID's already? I have had enough of worrying about kid-stuff."
"Slit-Throat Packmanger?" Vasara returned to Cloud-Dancers previous subject. "Sounds ominious, yet anyways I am glad that protection of the caern is now taken care by actual ahroun. And Fenris."

David gave a nod at Vasara and replied, "Thank you, at least there is a possible way now to combat those spirals with someone else who wants to completely destroy them. Maybe I can eventually get my vengeance, but I can be patient and help out until that day comes. I don't really have anything except what Cloud-Dancer has given me. But I will pack what I have and go with you when you want me to come."
He looked back at Cloud-Dancer and said, "Is there anything else you could give me before I leave. And what's this about these fake IDs? But until Judgment-from-the-Skies returns, would you like to continue sparring? At least, if we have time after I pack up?" He then broke eye-contact with Vasara and walked back to Cloud-Dancer's side.

"He's barely got real ID," Cloud-Dancer said. "You've been here longer than me, do you think you could sort that out for him?" After all, he seemed to have set up his pack with fake IDs. She nodded. Though she knew Danny for a long time, recent events had made her believe more than ever that they needed a strong war leader in charge. "Good," she said. "I trust you to sort out your own tactics for the battle ahead, but I am sure he could give you some good ideas. However, your pack and I are the only ones who've actually seen the bane, and we know what we can do. It'll be mostly up to us."
She turned to David. "We should get you some clothes at least," she said. "We can do that today. Even after you go with Judgement-from-the-Skies' pack, you can usually find me here at the Caern if you ever want to spar again. Besides, you and Anna still be living at my house, although you'll be spending a lot of time with the pack. But we need to keep up some appearances that you have a healthy home environment, or we'll be answering to authorities."

"I don't know, but probably we could arrange those. Enemy knows our real faces and names so we anyways need to give them more names now to get them off from our tracks." Vasara answered to Cloud-Dancer. "Clothes are enough to start with." he said to David "When I came here, I had one or two sets of clothes, knife and motorcycle. We can get other stuff after I figure out what you will need and how much gear can be dedicated to you so you can take them to umbra with you."
"The Bane will go down." Vasara grinned "As long as we are prepared to suffer casualties when killing it and rest of the Sept don't bolt and run after getting few casualties on their front and are prepared to press the attack home if Slagbröder goes down."
"Even then we try to cause fatal digestion-problems for the Bane." Vasara laughed. Death was natural part of life, and it happened when it happened, so there was no need to stress about it.
"Anyways I need to gather the pack. We try to come here as soon as we can. With your permission I would like to leave." he said to Cloud-Dancer. "You can talk to Anna too when we arrive, so she don't need to make another trip here."

"I will make sure they don't break and run," Cloud-Dancer assured him. "Even they can't fight like Fenrir, they can die like Fenrir."
She had just under a week to kick the stragglers into shape and make sure they were ready. But she was sure they were up to it.
"I'll see you this afternoon then," she said. "And I look forward to hearing more about the warwolf at the next moot."
With a nod, she gave him leave, and turned back to David. "It'll be a good fight," she said. "If Vasara doesn't want you in the bane's pit, then you can fight by side at the wall."
