Bastard seemed to last forever, and Vasara was worried of David. Ahroun or not, he was just a Cub, and none had time to aid him now. Vasara raked the Bane again, focusing on bringing it down before it could tear David in two.

"Shit," Kamut thought. With the archer shooting into them, they were sitting ducks. "Get down," he whispered, and dropped close to the ground as he crawled away.

Anna shot another arrow as she covered the distance between her and the Black Spiral Dancer. She knew David was in trouble but she had to keep the archer from killing Hands of Mercy. She dropped the bow and decided it was time to get in close.

Now the armour was gone, that left only the flesh and Saxon smiled as he tore into that.

The earth began to shake again as the bane did its best to drag David towards its mouth. It seemed to be too weak to do so very effectively, and David struggled with the pincer in his side. He didn't break free, but he managed to move a little without doing himself further damage. Slowly, the bane started to drag him towards it. Anna lost her footing again as she rushed for the Black Spiral Dancer, and her arrow went wide as she fell. Saxon and Vasara managed to keep their footing, albeit with great difficulty. The ground was not only shaking in the pit, it was crumbling and sliding almost like quicksand, pulling them under and closer to the bane's mouth. They didn't let up their attacks. The bane wasn't even moving now. It let the pit itself handle the attackers.
The War Wolf stayed on its feet. It seemed weakened but that didn't stop it. With its icy breath it froze the bane again. The stinking heat in the pit was bearable, and then it was so cold that the Garou in the pit almost felt numb.
Somehow, Hands of Mercy managed to stay on his feet and moved away from where he thought the Black Spiral Dancer was. Before he had gotten far, however, Gabriel's spray of lead caught him in the back. He felt the pain sear through as the bullets riddled his body drawing the rage to the surface. The arrow that struck him a split-second later was no match for the bullets, but it seemed to drain his strength from his body, and he felt himself weaken.
Umbraquake again. The ground shakes. Athletics + dex checks for all. Anna falls prone, inside the pit. Hands of Mercy takes 4 lethal then 1 lethal damage. Stunned and loses a point of strength and a point of stamina. Gains a point of rage and frenzies unless you spend a willpower point.
Crabby: 12
Pack Initiative: 13 Vasara: 0/2/2 Saxon: 4/2/2 – on 1 aggravated. Kamut: 1/3/3 Anna: 2/1/4 - on 1 bashing.
Hands of Mercy: 13(3/2/1) - on 5 lethal. (-2) David: (4/1/1) 13- on 4 aggravated. (-2) Warwolf: 16 Gabriel: 17
Leechwife: 12
The ground continued to shake as the bane slowly started to dissolve. Saxon and David could only wonder if maybe it was dying. But Vasara could tell it was only re-forming.

Leechwife realised that the time was running out for Spirals. She saw Hands of Mercy being struck by bullets and arrow, and knew she needed to bring him down now or it might be too late.
She abandoned her cover and ran straight toward Hands of Mercy, her claws dripping greenish liquid ready to rend him down.

"Don't let it escape! No matter the cost, KILL IT!" Vasara roared and dug his claws again deep. This was the last chance to get the Bane and he didn't have any idea how much punishment the Bane could still take before dying.

In the darkness, unable to see, to move, to act. His guardians gone and his life slipping away, Hands of Mercy feels the Rage coming upon him and looses himself to it. The bow falls to the ground, and he hurls himself towards the source of the pain, his hands seeking something to grab, to catch and hold and bring to his mouth.

Anna tried to pull herself out of the rubble and as she did, she howled a warning to Kamut and Hands of Mercy. She didn't know exactly where they were in the darkness, but she let them know the bitch was coming, and where she was coming from.
(Spend full action to stand up/get out of pit. Then run like hell and charge Leechwife.)

David was really afraid now, despite the bane seeming to weaken. With that mouth a bit too close for comfort, he really wanted off that claw and back on umbral ground. He couldn't understand what Vasara was saying, but struggled to get off the pincer and maybe land an attack of his own. Using the last of his focus, David tried to pull himself off the claw. He added some of his fury into his attempts as well.

Saxon steadied himself and then tore into the bane, aiming to tear through the remaining flesh and into the vitals inside.

The bane didn't get a chance to escape. Vasara and Saxon continued to claw at its flesh as it attempted to get away. Finally, David wriggled free of the pincer and landed the final blow. With a scream, it stopped dissolving and simply died.
But the battle was far from over. While Gabriel reloaded, Hands of Mercy took a wild charge in the dark and just as he fired off a shot, he mowed him down and grabbed hold of him around the waist. Gabriel dropped the gun and struggled in his grip. But Hands of Mercy's teeth came down and ripped a large chunk of ratty bits off him. Kamut heard Anna's warning and moved to intercept the charging archer with his claws. He took a wild swing in the dark, and felt himself connect with something, but he wasn't sure what it was. At least there was blood on his claws.
In the darkness, Hands of Mercy continued to rip off pieces of the ratkin. He felt two sets of claws shred his back and fell forward, staggering over the rubble and loose debris and into the pit itself. Finally, he could see. The rat in his grip was missing an arm and a large part of his neck. But blood was filling his own lungs as he stumbled forward, and his breath started to fail him. He let go of the dead rat and it returned to its tiny breed form. Hands of Mercy felt the poison course through his body, and knew at that moment that it was the end. But even as he drew his last breath, he saw the bane in its final moments. He saw his pack emerge from the pit, victorious, thanks to him. And then he closed his eyes, and let the spirits take him to Valhalla.
And in the shroud, the battle continued. Leechwife felt another set of claws rip through her shoulder. The many wounds were starting to wear her down, and even blind, these two fought like packmates, and would take her down if she continued to take them on.
From the East, the pack could hear the sounds of battle as Cloud-Dancer and her pack continued to fend off the banes. From the West, they heard Max's howls and the snarls of the Spirals. The saw the banner bearer defeated and the rest of their pack lost in the shroud, oblivious to Hands of Mercy's fate. They saw the large black form of Matthias approach. One thing they were sure of, they didn't have time to falter now. They couldn't celebrate victory or mourn their fallen. Not just yet. There were Spirals and Banes to fight, and the other packs needed their help.
Hands of Mercy heals 1, then takes 4 aggravated and 1 lethal. Final Frenzy heals 1. (I'll forego initiative this round, since Anna and Kamut will lose theirs to Leechwife and the pack has no immediate enemies. Post at will.)
Vasara: 0/2/4 Saxon: 2/2/2 – on 1 aggravated. Kamut: 0/3/2 Anna: 0/1/4
David: (1/1/2) - on 4 aggravated. (-2) - Regains a point of willpower.

The bane died and Saxon throw back his head and let out a howl of victory. Let the Spirals know that their bane was gone and Slagbroder was coming for their asses next He flashed a smile at Vasara “Sounds like some Spiral pussies are looking for a smack, let’s go give them one.” He began to climb out of the pit intending to see where Slagbroder where most needed.

Vasara looked at Warwolf and bowed his head at him. "This is your Gate now. We thank you." He looked how the Dämmerlicht were doing, and wondered how the Cloudy and her pack was managing. Anyways, there were still enemies on their area so it was time to clean the place up and then run to help anyone who might be needing help.
Sounds of battle was heard from the Shroud so Vasara assumed things were not too critical there. Instead he focused on the familiar form of Matthias. Vasara grinned widely "Time to take that bastard down."
Vasara looked at David and made a circling motion with his hand. Even if he knew David didn't understand Mothers tongue, he said "Circle from the left, Saxon as ahroun from the front. I take the right side. Idiot came alone and left his pack behind."

Worried that she might end up hitting Hands of Mercy of Kamut, Anna circled around carefully and listened intently for signs of the Black Spiral Dancer. She had never been so good at trusting her other senses, and she'd never been blind before. She listened for the sounds of strained breathing, and charged that.
(Body tackle, willpower not to botch and hope I get the right one.)
