"Sure, thanks" Max said with a smile. "We could head down to her place tonight, although I'm not sure we'll find her, she's a workaholic. I think all Hellers are. Well except me of course."
He grinned at Adiyah as she appeared. At least someone helpful had turned up. "Not much," Max said. "A sleepy guardian and a ratkin with an attitude problem." He moved a little to make space for Adiyah on the sofa. "Any idea where everyone else is?"

Yvonne's response is disproportionately excited. "Alright, sounds like a plan!" When Adiyah comes in and settles down she adds another mug in front of the kettle, then stands in the doorway as the kettle boils. She greets Adiyah with a smile. "Karin was more interested in making fun of Max than really talking. I don't think there was anything I could of said to get through to her."

"Thanks." She said to Max and took the offered seat on the couch. She leaned her head back and smirked. "From what I know of ratkin, they are not the easiest to negotiate with."
It was true, she had limited experience with ratkin, and virtually none of that prooved favorable. They always wanted something from you, and if they couldn't get it, they resorted to nasty tricks and name calling often. She licked her lips and frowned. "Busy time for everyone then I guess. The spirits are quiet for the moment at least, in a place so unsettled it is no wonder things are as they are."

"Yes she was quite charming," Max said with a short laugh. "I just hope they don't buy into whatever the Spirals tell them. But Karin didn't look like she'd listen to anyone anyway."
He wasn't used to having things to do. So far, Max had pretty much coasted through life by letting other people do all the real work. He was quite content to sit here and while away the afternoon chatting with Adiyah and Yvonne. Unfortunately, Berlin wasn't the place for that.
"It seems to be a pretty busy city," he said. "I don't think I've met all the local Garou yet. Unless the ones we met last night were it?"

"That was everyone but Anna. I hope she's okay." The kettle clicks in the background and Yvonne steps into the kitchen and sets about making coffee. She returns shortly bearing a trio of mugs for them all, along with sugar for those with a sweet tooth. "So what's your cousin like, Max?" Yvonne sits and spoons sugar into her coffee then rattles it noisily while she stirs. Apparently she has one of the sweet teeth.

"Oh, thanks. Yes I hope she is getting through alright." She says to Yvonne with a smile and accepts the mug. Coffee wasn't her first choice usually, but she wasn't complaining. She took a single spoonful of sugar, stirred and took a sip.
She looked between the two, wondering what this was all about. "Cousin?"

Yvonne is only too eager to gossip about someone else's family. "Yes, Max was telling me about his cousin. Apparently his uncle went messing a while back and everyone thought he was dead, but she says he's alive but she didn't say where." She sips her coffee, makes a face and adds another spoon of sugar. "Now she wants Max to find him, and so we can go meet her, she owns this place somewhere and is a bit of a workaholic." At long last, Yvonne recognises the big hole in Max's story that he hadn't mentioned yet. With her coffee halfway to her mouth she turns her head to look at him. "Why was it you said we were going to go talk to her to find him?"

"My cousin is Glass Walker kin," he said to Adiyah. "Her father, my uncle, owns this place. Now that he's disappeared, there've been some legal issues with her inheriting it. I'm not sure on the specifics."
He stirred some sugar into his own coffee and took a sip.
"Actually, Saturday afternoon is probably the best time to catch her at home," Max said. "She seemed to be sure he was alive. So she must have a reason to believe that. I think that would be a reasonable place to start. If we're not needed here, that is. But we don't seem to be.

"Oh. That sounds likely. Legal aspects often convulute things, they probably want a certificate of death or something. Figures."
She took another sip of the coffee and sat back a moment. What she wouldn't give somedays for not having to be somewhere. However, life as a mother, and garou rarely seemed to permit that. Looked like she wouldn't be comfortable for long. She managed a smile.
"No, it would seem for now no one needs us here. The warder is on guard, and there are no doubt some eyes on the place. I'm all for a good mystery."

"We can spare a few minutes to have our coffee in peace though." Yvonne stretches back in her seat and stretches out, giving herself a chance to relax. "So did you ever meet him before he dissapeared? Do you know he's like?"

Max smiled at Adiyah, appreciating her offer to help. He had a good feeling about these two.
"The last time I saw him I was a kid," he said. "Before my first change. He was a little intimidating. Even then, I thought he was a bit mad. But then he's Garou."
Max took another sip from his coffee, and then set it down because it was still too hot. "And the last time I saw Evie was eight years ago," he remembered. "I didn't even get to see her yet, all I got was a phone call telling me where to go."

Adiyah sat back when no one was rushing to get up and run. After her recent trip to the umbra, she could certainly rest. She sipped the hot coffee gingerly, savoring the warmth.
"Before we understand what it is to be garou, everything seems intimidating and mad. I'm still not used to it all. Then again, 'used to' is a synonym for 'bored with' in a way, so it's not all bad."
She smiled back and sipped her drink again as she thought about that. "I've not met this Evie either, there really wasn't much time with all that'sbeen going on the last few days. What is she like?"

"Oh well, at least if this turns out to be a dead end you'll be able to catch up with your family. It's nice to keep in touch." She pauses, sips her coffee and smirks at Adiyah. "You still aren't used to it? It's hardly been a year for me. I just do what I can and hope someone stops me if I try to do something that I don't understand..."

"Wow," Max said, without sounding too patronising. "I would never have guessed you were that young. But I suppose times like these demand we adapt quickly."
He sipped some more coffee after those words of quasi-wisdom, before answering Adiyah.
"Workaholic," he said. "Like most of my family. She manages to balance work life and family life somehow though. Kind of like you. Apart from that, I don't know much about her. She's older than me, and she lived up here in Berlin for most of my life. My father didn't like to visit much."
More coffee sipping ensued, until the liquid was cool enough to start gulping down.

Adiyah warmed her hands on the cup and thought a moment. "Well, yes. I'd say that desperate times call for desperate mesures, as in finding cubs and essentially they learn alot more than they can sometimes process in such a short time. You remember how it was? I do, my first change was in the mountains with my father. We were attacked. Before I even knew what had gone on, there was blood on my hands."
She smiled, a slightly bitter one at that, and sipped. "But things get easier. Workaholic......shame there isn't a support group for that."
