"Yes, we've got to keep going." Yvonne decides against going down the path of discussing first changes though, finding instead a related subject. "I wonder how Anna is doing, she's been gone a long time." She sips her coffee and forces a smile. "But I'm sure she's fine."
((can we move on? finish coffee, head off, and so on))

"Car accident," Max admitted. "Got driven off a cliff. Hardly anything glamorous. Just stupid teenagers." He thought he understood why Yvonne was changing the subject, though. As an Ahroun, she was the most likely to have had an especially bloody first change. They didn't need to remind her of it. "A rite of passage can take a while," he said, trying to sound reassuring. "She's Get isn't she? They're probably making sure she can rip trees out with her teeth or something. Don't worry about it." He probably knew he was doing a bad job of sounding reassuring, so he changed the subject again. "Let's find the Warder," he said. "We'll tell him what happened with Karin, and then maybe see if he has any ideas for finding my uncle."

Adiyah nods to this as the last of her coffee was drained. She could use a bit of something more to warm her up after the umbral trip, but it would have to wait.
"Alright, I believe he is nearby, or should be."
Without a word she collected the cups, bringing them to the sink to rins them. Once that was done she came out, smiling. "Sorry, it's the mother in me. Let's go."

However bad a job Max made of it, Yvonne manages a grin. "Alright, I'm sure he'll know someone who can help. He's probably met a lot of people." Yvonne stands triumphantly with her utterly unhelpful and vague remark and heads off in search of Danny. She starts calling for him after she doesn't find him in the first room she looks.

As Yvonne stood up, she noticed that Micah had vacated his resting place at the bottom of the stairs and was now scrounging for food in the kitchen.
"Umbra," he grunted helpfully, before he returned to raiding the kitchen shelves.

Max drained his cup and stood up too. "I thought the wolf said he was in the Umbra," he said, not quite sure of Micah's name. "With the cubs?"
When Micah confirmed it, he picked up his coat and looked around for a reflective surface to step sideways. "Shall we, then?" he asked, before disappearing into the Umbra.

"Probably, Danny seems to spend alot of his time there from what I have seen." She said, nodding in thanks to the raiding Micah. She had not remembered him leaving the umbra after their talk with the spirits.
She sighed softly to herself and moved with Max, after a momemt or two following him into the umbra.

"Alright let's go." She gives Micah a little wave. "See you soon." Then follows the other across the gauntlet.

It didn't take them long to find Danny and the cubs. They were sitting close to the Caern's heart, cross-legged on the floor in their homid forms. The cubs were listening intently, and the warder was, as always, lecturing. He stopped talking as Yvonne, Adiyah, and Max approached, and turned to look up at them.
"You're back," he said. "How did it go?"

Since Danny didn't stand up, Max sat down next to the cubs instead, grinning at Torsten and the other boy as he did.
"Not too well," he said. "But I think we made a good point. I'm not sure they want to ally with anyone though. If they did, they shouldn't have sent Karin."

"There you are!" Yvonne sits down cross-legged with max. "She certainly doesn't. She was very rude to Max."

Adiyah trails behind the others and takes herself a seat, remaining quiet until they have spoken. After all, she hadn't had the 'pleasure' of conversing with the ratkin. She eyed the cubs and offered them a polite, maternal smile. It had not been so long since she was learning herself.
"Many of them are like that, their idea of fun is to make it of others usually too."

Danny did not look surprised. "That is disappointing," he said. "We could have used allies."
The cubs moved to make room for the three Cliath, and Torsten smiled and gave Adiyah a small wave.
"But we will have to make do with what we have," Danny continued. "I knew the Ratkin were a long shot. They will not join the Spirals, but getting them to fight by our side was probably a little too much to ask."
He looked at Max. "There's something else though," he said expentantly.

Max nodded, and paused for a moment thinking of how to ask this.
"Yeah, there is," Max said. "It's my Uncle. He used to own this place, years ago. But he's disappeared, and nobody knows where he is, or if he's still alive. I want to find him. That's why I came here. My cousin asked this of me. You've been here the longest. His name is Carsten Heller, he's a GlassWalker Elder Theurge. Or at least he used to be."

"I have heard that name before," Danny said. "He was one of the three children of this Caern's founder. But I don't know what became of him after the city fell. If your cousin believes he is alive, then must have some reason. I think that would be a good place to start."
He looked thoughtful for a bit, and then continued. "If that gets you nowhere, then we will ask Kasiya to perform the Rite of the Questing Stone when he returns. But don't rely on it. I am sure an elder Theurge who does not want to be find would have thought of ways to hide even from the Questing Stone."
He sighed. It seemed that most of their time in this city was spent finding missing cubs, missing kin, or missing elders who didn't want to be found.
"Let me know what you find," he added, before looking at Yvonne and Adiyah. "And I take it you two have been drafted into this too?"
